Oh no! Not a religious statement from an old, crappy comic about cavemen! People are so stupid. Come to think of it, I haven't seen in it my paper either. Given this big stupid Roman-Cath. pop and it's red-state-ism, I'm not surprised.

I wouldn't say I necessarily have a favorite. I don't think I like any of them enough to have a favorite. I like one-shot comics that get their point across in a single panel. As for the rest, I guess Luann is like one of the ones I hate the least. That'd probably be a better way to word it. Maybe Opus but it only comes out on Sundays.

I like Beatle Bailey and Curtis... I never liked Hi and Lois.

I dearly miss Calvin and Hobbes, especially since now I know the deeper meaning behind the comic strip.

B.C. wasn't a favorite, but I appreciated some of the insights it presented. Plus the fact that it was unabashedly Christian at times but did so using the evolutionary concept of the caveman always struck me as hilarious in its own right. I was intrigued by the fact that he cocreated Wizard of Id, as it was one of my favorites before the local paper quit carrying it.

Wah. Christianity teaches that Christ fulfilled the Jewish scriptures' requirements for Messiah. If people pull comic strips because people disagree with the author's occasional expression of personal faith, I'm shocked that Doonesbury and Mallard Fillmore have lasted so long. Too bad the guy didn't put Mohammed in one for the pure hell of it.

I want to slap Curtis around. Others frequently hung in my firing range: Baldo, Breeder Blues, Marvin, Garfield, Lockhorns, Family Circus, Beetle Bailey, Hi and Lois, the Piranha Club, One Big Happy, Mother Goose and Grimm-- meh, what the hell, most of them. I'm neutral on Blondie. I have a like/hate thing going with Zits for whatever reason. I should chate it more and I don't. "Classic Peanuts". Bleh, sure take up a space that could be used by another artist to reguritate an old strip. There's this little strip with a pig or something that talks about beer, that one ain't bad. And there's this one with this cat, not Mutts, but I never understand what the hell's going on in it or why I should laugh. And there's one with a cranky old mailman that I find tolerable. Spider-Man annoys me because I like reading stuff like that in bulk as opposed to itty bitty strips, but that's its only offense. I never had an opinion Calvin and Hobbes. It wasn't something I ever bothered with. When it ran, the Far Side was my favorite.

I'd attribute Doonesbury and Mallard Fillmore's lives to being near editorial type stuff and away from the other comics. At least they are here. If you put either one near Garfield, it'd be gone that very day.

It turns out I never saw B.C. because I apparently skipped it so often I'd never see it there anymore, but it's there.

For now anyway.

Semi-related, my God, every other strip in the paper for the last few days is a tax joke. How unique of them. :rolleyes:
