My aunt's mother told me she went to mass with her friend's daughters (they are like 10 and 6 respectively) and they were having a little act of Jesus going to the cross, complete with whip and ketchup. She said the girls were freaked out! I thought it was such an awful idea, it's hilarious.

People who take kids to those sorts of movies should have them taken away by default. Like a buzzer goes off somewhere and the usher comes and says "Excuse me, sir, I will be taking these children away from you now. Looks like you'll have to profit for the next tax season by actually getting a job."

They can't do anything about it. I worked at a theater for awhile and you can tell the parent it might not be appropriate, but if they want to take them in anyway you can't stop them. I saw many a child taken into "My Best Friend's Wedding." while I worked there. Poor bastards.

It was wall-to-wall brats when we went to see "Sin City". And yes, some of them got scared and cried, like when the head went flying. Another one for the "Parenting makes you a better person" file. :rolleyes:

Yeah, I've been bringing headphones to the computer lab because there's lots of people just yammering about. I can't work to that noise.

I don't know what the hell is wrong with parents. I know the bulk of it falls on the ratings system, but it doesn't matter how many things you implement short of having adults-only theaters that would keep kids out. There needs to be more consumer vigilance instead of this reliance that someone else should do the work for you. Now I saw some stuff I shouldn't have seen as a kid-- probably every kid has-- but I thank teh Gawd my mom never took me to that kind of horrific shit when I was little. Whenever I saw R-rated stuff, it was thrillers and action and that sort of thing. Not teh rape and shit like that.

If I were ever to open a business, it would be an adult-only theater and each theater would have copper-wire coiling in the ceiling so that no cell phone would even attempt to work. Also, I would not sell tickets after the movie had already started, so no asshole would be walking infront of you, trying to find seats, making you miss important shit.

Also, there would be space behind the last row of seats for a couple ushers to stand. If anyone was being overly disruptive, they would be thrown out.

It's a niche film. You have to appreciate what they were trying to achieve with it. May not have been the best movie for a wide release and something that would have been better suited for an indie market, or DTV. Course then you couldn't have afforded all the big name stars the movie had, but I think it would have been better received.

There was talk of a Grindhouse 2, but I doubt that'll happen now.

I actually wanted to see that when it came out. Course I wanted to see any comic book movie at the time. That's how I can proudly claim that i saw Judge Dredd in the theater.

I saw "Tank Girl" in the theater and then I saw "Major Payne" with Damon Wayans on the same day. I've actually seen Tank Girl multiple times, but the point stands.

Wow. You're a very brave person. I've only seen Tank girl once from begining to end. Caught bits and pieces of it here and there, but only sat through the whole thing once.

I only got to see two movies back to back like that once when I was younger and it was Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, and The Rocketeer.
