What looked like a reprieve for wayward waifling Kali Sha was not to be, as I've gotten my password and username for this account again. I don't know, I liked The Big Sleep better. Bogart's Philip Marlowe had to actually leave his office on occasion, as opposed to Sam Spade in Falcon, half of which happened in his lobby. I guess it was just easier to wheel in Sidney Greenstreet to one location at a time.

HA! Yeah...he didn't move a lot in Casblance either.

And I've never seen The Big Sleep. I want too...badly. It was on the other night but there was only 10 mins left in it. My mom was convinced it was a sequel to The Maltesse Falcon. I told her it wasn't. So we saw enough of it to settle that, but I still didn't get to see it.

I'm not really a Bogart fan though. I hated Key Largo, and I think African Queen is a little overated for what it is.

Yeah, it's not a sequel at all, but I could see why she'd think so because it has Bogart playing another hard-boiled detective.

Big Sleep is a bit of a mind bender. The DVD I have of it includes the more complex "official" 1946 version as well as the original 1945 cut, which was more linear and easier to understand. They're almost two different movies, and both are worth watching, but the 1946 version is more interesting. Definitely try renting it...it's a good one. It doesn't hurt that Lauren Bacall looked amazing back in the day.

I just watched Key Largo the other day for the first time...it was meh. African Queen never really grabbed me enough to prompt a viewing. To Have and Have Not was another good Bogey/Bacall movie and well worth watching, but it wasn't as good as it could have been.
