He shows up again as a character that was originally suppose to be his brother but is passed off as being himself. (The brother is actually killed I believe and they cop-out again.) There's some episodes that are animated exclusively for the US and he may appear in those as well. The point is that he

1) Lives
2) Re-appears
3) Stays living
