ITS RAINING

I just have a feeling that this opening night would've been packed with people  from the INTERNET.  So that perhaps I could just yell INNNTTERRRRNET! out in the middle of the movie and piss some people off whilst making some other people laugh.  And everyone would've gotten up and given a standing ovation when Sam L. said the infamous line.

but now I'll never know...

One day I'm going to build a full-sized theater in my house so I can enjoy a film in a theater setting, with out all the theater problems.

Here's the TV for ya, Rama.

Dude, so am I.  But I'm not getting any tv for that room, I'm gonna paint a wall like a screen and set up a projector.  And my kitchen's gonna be like a diner and I'm gonna have a laundromat type room to do laundry, complete with a vending machine, a pacman game, and a change machine that takes my dollars and eats them.  Ah, to dream.

It would be easier, cheaper and all around better to get a HD projector than that 103 inch TV...much easier to get into the house, aswell.

Damn...80K for 103 inches. I have a 52-inch now and it only set me back around 800 clams. I'd be paying 10 times as much for only twice as much screen. My set up now is ok. I have a 52 inch HD TV with a 5.1 Surround sound system and the subwoofer will rattle your fillings if you set it up right...but I still haven’t achieved that exact feel yet.

I've heard mixed reviews on the screen paint. It is much cheaper then the actual screen, but I don't know if I'm sold on it yet. I think I'd have to see it used in person someplace before I caved in and did that.

Ha...I want to do that too. Right down to the chrome trim on the table. But I had my pacman machine (which is between the Centerpiece and Galaga stand ups, which is next to the jukebox) in the game room off the theater and the next to the concession stand complete with popcorn maker, which is also next to the vending machine. There is also a pool table around there too.

I would think you'd just try out the paint and if you don't like it, paint over it and get a screen.

What's so caaaaaaaa-razzzzay?  When tv's reach a certain size, they immediately go from cool to cumbersome.  Projection is teh future.  That or nanobots in the walls that create images for you, but we're not that far yet.

Well the paint is suppose to be some kind of speical paint and isn't cheap. I know I could just use white paint, but I'm just stickler for perfection.  Then you have to have to take into account that painting a wall large enough to double as a screen is a lot of work. I'd just rather see how it looked before I shelled out the money and work and then just have to paint over it again. Most places that will sell you the paint usually have or can show you some kind of demonstration of the product. So it's no biggy.

She is right on that. If my TV didn't have wheels on it I'd never move it. Screens are much more portable and the painted wall....well that's as portable as a can of paint.
