Well, I have a third one that is the entire post you just made. Let me break it down for you.
The Rule: No. There isn't a Rule to knowing what Memorial day is ABOUT, that was never the point of what I wrote, so you lose points for that mistake.
My POINT was that your utter lack of knowledge AND Total Disregard of the holiday as simply an excuse to get a day off was grossfully stupid and, quite honestly, would be disrespectful to a lot of people. Probably none around here, but that's beside the point. I'm sure there are thousands of Immigrants that have no idea what Memorial Day is about, but I'm quite sure that the majority of them would, if honestly curious, would look it up RATHER than just write it off as just another day off.
Your Friend: Well, What can I say? That's a choice of the Immigration corner of the Government to NOT have someone know WHY Memorial Day was so god damn important, that one I have to blame on the Government for that.
"Your" way of life: ....This is an attitude of a lot of Foreigners living in America have, but guess what chica? YOU DO LIVE IN AMERICA. You WORK in America, So therefore YOU'RE AN AMERICAN. It's YOUR way of life TOO, because You're LIVING it. Find that wrong? Go live in Saudi, see how much work ya get there and what they'll think of your high Grade Point Average! They'll Stone you where you stand.
And either way, You're LIVING in AMerica, so you should respect the country you live in.
Holidays: Memorial day is a day that commemorates those who have died in defense of this country and it's way of Life. it started as a commemoration of those who Died in the CIVIL WAR, of which without We'd still probably have black people working cotton fields! After World War I it was to commemorate ANY Who died in military Service.
I do believe there should be a Holiday for September 11th. Hell, I think there should be a holiday for when we liberated the Iraqi from Saddam! And as for his sons? FUCK THEM. GOOD that they're dead. They were crazy just like their Dad! Of WHOM I hope gets EXECUTED.
And as far as Civilians dying? I'm not supporting it, I don't LIKE it, but hey? In War? IT HAPPENS. Look over in Iraq where people suicide bomb CIVILIAN Targets. Look at the WORLD TRADE CENTER, JESUS....These two examples are showing useless wastes of life. These weren't Military engagements, These were Civilian Bombings. As far as Military killing civilians, It also happens, and I wished it didn't, I Wish our Global Laser Technology was sophisticated enough to where we could pick the Military people out from the Civilian ones and vaporize them from space! HOWEVER, it doesn't work like that, and civilian casualties happen. Am I supporting it? No. Am I saying that it's a purposeful happening? I hope in my heart of hearts that is never the case, but I'm not there and I can't judge either way. Am I saying that it is an unfortunate side effect of war? Yes.
Holiday's are created to celebrate or remember events or people. A Holiday for the remembrance of innocent lives lost in the tragedy of War? Sounds like a very good idea, chica., though the way you word it makes me sound insensitive and cold.
Last off: Extra time? Well When I argue with someone I do like to have the information to back up my claims, so yes I research. However, I knew I would be screwed either way, because 1: You would've slammed me for NOT finding any examples of your decline of intelligible displays, or, 2, like you did, FOR spending all of about ten minutes finding some relevant examples. Sort of a catch 22 there, chica.
