And I half got excited for it when I saw the preview with Pirates. Then that large "A Michael Bay Film" came on the screen and that was over fast.

Yes and staring a human cast of thousands. I hope there is enough screen time left over to actually show a Transformer.

The cast for Transformers should read like the cast listing for the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre. There were only like 10 people in that flick. (Which I just saw the other night thanks to IFC......and I don't know what the fuss was about. It wasn't that great.)

Shia LeBeauf as Spike? Yuck city.
Yellow General Grevious with Bumblebee's head? Gay.
Bumblebee as a Corvette? Meh.
Optimus Prime as a black truck with red flames? Still a rumor, still gay.
John Voight and Tyrese Gibson? Weak.
Ludacris as a Decepticon (rumored to be Soundwave)? Beyond Fire Island.

I don't care about Transformers btu I think this movie is going to rock my shit. Shia is pure gold and everything about it looks 10 shades of awesome. I just can't believe Trannies are complaining about aspects of this movie when the franchise doesn't deserve anything more than the Super Mario Bros. movie.

It didn't seal it for me, but it did add a chell in the pro column...which balances out Bernie Mack being attached to this film in the Con column.

He'll be playing a used Car salesman so I highly doubt he'll have a big role. Now all they need is Frank Welker or David Kaye to play Megatron...Though I'd love to have Gary CHalk in there as a voice for some Autobot.

I read somewhere that Welker's auditioning for the movie, and that the jury's still out. But given his history with the franchise, his status as the go-to voice guy in Hollywood, willingness to do stuff far beneath that status, and the fact that pure nostalgia is driving this film, I'd say it's his if he wants it.

This movie MUST go for the thirty- and twentysomething guy who grew up watching weekday afternoon cartoons, and the vast majority of these guys aren't the Transnerds we hate from the online domain. The designs have to be contemporary but easily recognizeable, and the voices need to echo the old series. From what I've seen and heard, that's the aim.

And fuck a Kaye and Chalk. Call 'em when they decide to do a Beast Wars movie.
