I'm strangely reminded of the part of Chrono Trigger where I'm trying to find the Nu in the rainforest to fight him, and he always appeared just far enough so by the time I ran over to him, he was gone.

It reminds me of the time I saw woman dressed up as Barbie in Wal-Mart. I just assumed I was hallucinating and moved on.
