Well it's all fire related so this is obviously a phoenix thing. I mean... the whole her dying and returning like a phoenix rising from the ashes with teh phoenix shaped glow in the lake... yeah. Phoenix.

Will they ever do the phoenix saga? Yes. They'll start with the second movie... the one that came out years ago.

No....Cause there is just too much stuff to try push into a backstory, plus they are trying for at least plauseable realism. Having super powered humans AND Aliens would shatter that. Has to be one or the other. It's why if Venom and the black costume show up in Spider-Man 3 they won't be from another planet like they were in the comic.

Well no. I don't think they'll follow things exactly with the comic for anything. Plus the fact that believing in mutants is one thing for the audience when trying to imagine this as a realistic world but when you start to throw in galactic empires and stuff it's a little craZy.

I think X3 is going to be the last one. At least in the X-men series. I also doubt we will get more then the 1 Wolverine movie and I have even more doubts that the Magneto movie will ever shoot a single frame.

There's way too much story for them to delve into it properly in a movie, pretty much with any comic. Popcorn audiences want SFX, skin-tight costumes, and explosions.

That's the death that makes me not want to see this movie. There are plenty of characters that actually did die in the comic(That thing where he was absorbed intoApocalypse doesn't count.) they could have killed off if they wanted to kill someone. They didn't have to off what I've always seen as the heart and soul of the X-men. I think the book suffered when Cyc left in the mid 80s.

Course if he was gone, it would prove a good way to bring Apocalypse in storywise. Since Cyc and Jean's offspring is what Apocalypse feared the most, with Cyc dead Apocalypse could finally show himself to the world with no fear of being defeated. But I don't think we will see an X4 so it's a moot point.

As if a comic book death (even in a comic book movie) was ever final. Hell, Jean Gray's coming back after dying in the previous one. Come on, people.

Anyway: no, they won't do the whole Phoenix angle. It'll be an adaptation that fits within the structure of the movies. Which is good, since the Phoenix Saga sucked IMO.
