That's rather insensitive of them. And they ofered you the ashes? It's cost us around $100-$150 every time we've gotten a cremation. Of course, that included the lovely ceramic urn.

Well honestly...it's not something I'd have wanted to watch anyways.

And they were going to cremate him anyways. They do it with all the animals they put down as a "Just in case" measure. They did say the urn would cost us more, but we could bring our own and they'd put the ashes in it.

I held my terminally cancerous dog while they gave her the injection and it was a matter of seconds. I can only describe it as feeling like shutters were opened and something broke free. It's not an easy thing, nor would everyone come away feeling better for having been there, but I'll always stay from now on.

Well lucky for me all of my pets now a pretty young. Oldest is only about 4 1/2 years old. So baring disease (which one already lived through a nasty case of Parvo), or an accident I won't have to deal with having to put a pet down for some time.
