Title: Whoo!
Post by: Bitch on Apr 11, 2008, 11:44:42 PM
I've been back in Kansas officially since February, but haven't said anything since I hadn't really gotten much done in the way of making my residency back in my home state permanent. In fact, I was back January 17, but my dad carted me to Oklahoma again because he hoped it would make my sister whine less (it didn't). I was especially hesitant because the job situation here is really bleak; I've been actively looking for a job since November and hadn't gotten a single interview until recently.

My brother, sis-in-law and nephew moved here from Utah to take over my dad's house. Since my dad established a residency in Oklahoma, he was able to get an Oklahoma divorce by publication so my mom wouldn't contest it, which she would have almost certainly done. He also did it so she wouldn't take half his stuff, which is good because she's already taken (and pawned) more than her fair share. Because of this, the house is still half in her name and he can't sign it over the Marcus outright without her being present and also willing to sign. This will never happen.

I'm going to be renting from Marcus as soon as my dad leaves for Oklahoma. They very enthusiastically suggested I do so, and I complied with even greater enthusiasm. Miina and I get along wonderfully, I've always looked up to Marcus as a fellow black sheep, and Adam, their demon hell child, is pretty okay most of the time. Also, I'm wanting to start school soon. Since the rent is cheap and I won't have any other living expenses, this seems like a great idea. Especially when Dad moves out, since we won't have to worry about putting gas in his car and buying meat all the time. A pound of lean hamburger is around $4, and a pound of firm tofu is only $2. My dad refuses to eat tofu and insists that every meal he eats ha some kind of meat in it.

I recently got a job at a call center that calls businesses and homes trying to get people to take retarded surveys. The pay is good, the job is easy and the hours are just right for a college schedule. I look forward to hearing some of you cussing at me very soon.

Yeah, Cows are just designed to be eaten. They serve no environmental purpose if not eaten, just like turkey. Turkey are the dumbest animals ever, and delicious as all hell.

While I still eat pork, it is kinda hard though when you see how intellegent pigs really are.  Bacon still is the ultimate deal breaker.

Bacon used to give me the worse migraines known to man...the kind that would make you cry in pain but not let you sleep it off and medicine put not the first dent in it.  Found out it was due to an allergy to nitrites that applied to any processed foods.  For some reason, bacon was the worst one, and even now I can't eat much of it.

Sad, too, since I really like it.  But eating a double-decker BLT is a harrowing proposition when you risk a crippling head-ache for a couple days by eating one.

I don't care about a hog or a cow or a turkey's intellect.  The only reason they're here is for our good.  I don't believe in mistreating critters or anything, but I'd eat chimpanzee if they cooked it right.  And if I was starving to death and there was no lesser life-forms around, I'd start eyeballing the nearest person I liked least.

Try eating uncured side meat. It's like bacon, but less salty and greasy, and it's usually cut thicker.

I'm not really a big fan of bacon or ham because of the saltiness, but pork tenderloin is the nectar of the motherfucking gods if you cook it right. I like fish a lot too, especially if I help catch it (and someone else guts it). Crappie was put on this world just for my enjoyment.

Veggies are more fun to arrange in patterns on the plate.  I'm tired of eating.  :P I got cheese broccoli soup yesterday at a restaurant and picked the broccoli out, made a little grove on my bread plate and ate the big stalk in the middle.  The server looked at me like I was crazy when she picked up the plates.   But I was a good girl and finished all of my Guinness.  :bernie:

And I hate raw tomatoes.  And olives, mayo, 1000 island dressing, burnt french fries... I could go on.

Beets, canned tuna, milk, fried anything, celery, white chocolate, hard-boiled or deviled eggs, strawberries, pudding, Jello, butter, sponge/angel food cakes or any form of goofy bread like banana bread, gravy....never liked any form of liver or innards.  Any meat back in the day had to be the perfect bite - no off-color, no fat/gristle/bone, etc.  Blood was okay.

You hate RAW tomatoes?  Are there any other kind worth a damn?  And here I thought Fried Green Tomatoes was just a sick joke...I didn't know people actually ate it.  What a waste of a perfectly good 'mater.  If you're gonna fry something like that, stick with eggplant or squash or something equally useless otherwise.

Pork tenderloin + smoker = glory

I like things that are made out of tomatoes like marinara, ketchup, and Bloody Marys (But not if they're just vodka, tom. juice and tabasco sauce, they need lots of shit in them).  I can't stand the taste of raw tomatoes on my salads or sandwiches.  The one night, my boyfriend bought a deli sandwich, and on the way home he asked me to take a bite.  I asked if there were tomatoes in there and he didn't think so.  It was the only thing I could taste.

Guh, I can't stand those things. I worked with a guy who drank nothing but those at bars. The bartenders always looked at him odd. I understand going for classic drinks like a Gimlet, but bloody marys? Bleech.

I've noticed that a lot of the women who do rescue work have gotten out of really bad or downright abusive relationships.  Of those probably about 2/3 are also vegetarian/vegan or at least pescetarian.  I wonder if it has anything to do with relating to fellow animals used as providers of goods & services.   I really should take a year off from work and get a couple million for expenses from the gubmint in order to research this theory.  8)

I'm with you, Chels, except on the Bloody Mary part. I can't eat just a tomato, it has to have something with it. Like I'll eat tomato soup if I can soak it all up with a sandwich, or I'll put tomato slices on a burger. But if there are tomatoes in a green salad, I'll pick them all out and give them to someone else.

A grilled cheese sandwich is the most basic of quick hot meals on the cheap.  And you can go low-fat on the butter and cheese to help keep the ass-inflation in chell.

I, on the other hand, will continue to bathe mine in actual butter and with at least two slices of real cheese.

I wouldn't use white bread these days either but for someone whose never had a grilled cheese I'd suggest white bread, butter, and kraft deli style full on fat version cheese.  Just for their trial run.  These days mine are made with that same italian 5 grain and fat free cheese.  They're not even grilled but rather toasted in the microwave.

Sure they're fat free...but they're a hollow soulless version of a grilled cheese sammich.  Their very existence is painful to them.  If they could talk they would beg to be eaten as soon as possible.

KEEP THE BREAD WHITE AND PURE

...but it doesn't really make much of a difference, as it all turns brown in the end.

The fact that you're basically toasting two pieces of bread with cheese in between them on a buttered skillet somewhat eliminates any taste or textural difference between white and wheat, at least for my taste.
