I'm getting sick of LOST, and I'm not the only one.

Quote
While viewers might have gotten a bit more out of the mysterious visitor on "Lost," the show's ratings are still stranded: "Lost" (16.1 million, 6.6/15) tied its lowest original demo rating of the season, which was last week. "Evidence" (8 million, 3.1/8) performed poorly in its second week, losing viewers in the second half.

I only continue watching in hopes of seeing Desmond or Rosseau again, DVRing the thing and cutting through it in about a third of the time, but it's been clear for a while that the writers don't know what they're doing or where they're going with this crap.  The two seconds that glowing door was on the screen earned the only "cool" points for the entire episode.

Next episode:  Sun finds out a soggy pregnancy test on a crashed plane kept in the secret stash of a lying hick CAN give a false positive, and we're spared having to see or talk about another gross baby.  Rose and Bernard managed to be saved while Sayid gets dragged off and fittingly tortured by the Others.  The baby, like the second Winslow daughter in "Family Matters", disappears entirely from this plane of existence and everyone at the camp but Sawyer, Locke, and Charlie get killed off.  Jin also manages to live through his seemingly mortal injuries, but without Sun becomes a garden-tending mute, which is just fine since no one understands what the fuck he's saying anyway.  Michael comes back wondering "what the haps" and then gets down on his knees and yells "WALLLLLLTT!!" a couple of more times.  Then they all trek through the forest, guided by the friendly ghost of Boone, and go on an Others killing spree.  The French woman goes nuts and, thinking everyone is infected, starts hunting them like little bitches.  Desmond appears to reluctantly help the castaways out, but not in time to prevent the tragic and/or hilarious death of Jin.  Walt, meanwhile, has been warped by the others.  His brain has been taken out and replaced with Zeke's, the top part of his head being nothing but a glass case for the pulsating grey hillbilly Gordon's Fisherman-like mass.  The remaining Lostaways blow Walt up at the Black Rock ala Artz and delusional Michael goes on a quest to find the real Walt, whose brain is now in Vincent.  Helen then finds herself on the island, still looking hot.  Also featured, is a very special appearance by [doHTML]Sayid's unborn bastard child[/doHTML].

Also yesterday, I saw a woman who looked exactly like Hurley.  At least, I think it was a woman.

The only thing that bothers me about Lost is the way they keep jerking around from repeat to new episode so retardedly.

I haven't said anything about it, since I've never watched it and didn't really figure I'd care for it.  But it seems to me that they're just dragging this shit out with more crazy crap every week.

I guess the critical term might be "protracted Machiavellian plotting", but I'd be more prone to say something like "this thing's a drawn out load of bullshit."

Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Yeah.  One article about LOST's slipping ratings said something about how ABC had tried in the past with other shows to air a bunch of new episodes and it didn't work out like they hoped, blah blah.  But they have like 22 eps.  Start out in mid Sept with nine or so in the beginning until the holidays come.  Then rerun those same ones in order.  Then start six new ones for Feb sweeps, rerun those and then run out the rest right until the end  of May sweeps.  Pad the schedule with specials and a couple of extra reruns from the previous season as needed.  It shouldn't be fucking guesswork to find new episodes and it doesn't work well enough as a standalone deal to pepper them here and there.  It's almost as bad as schedule hopping.  If the show can't be found, no one's gonna frickin' watch it.

See that's why I back BSG. Not only do the writers know where they are going with something, but they so expertly weave them into the storyline that at times you don't even know you've been told something important till much later.

That reminds me of LOST's pretentious insertion of literature.  There has to be a page by now that disects "Are You There God?  It's Me, Margaret" and its relation to the LOST continuity.

I think Nuri looks into Lost too much. I think ABC sucks fucking with the schedule, but the episodes have been good. :)

I just sit back and enjoy the ride with BSG and don't put too much thought into it at the time....if the writer is worth a damn they'll remind you of the past important detail when the reveal why it's important, if too much time has past, while still leaving the big mystery up in the air. I mean I know the Cylons have a plan...but I still don't know what the fuck it is. I know they want to create human/Cylon hybrids...but for what purpose I'm still not clear on. The biggest problem I have with BSG is that they go too long without a good SFX filled battle, which I think they should have at least once every 3-4 episodes. They did it really well in season 1 , but in the latter half of season 2 they seemed to save those for the first episode and then the final episode and that's it.

Course it's better then every episode at the expense of the story which seems to be what SG-1 has done the last 3 seasons. Like if they put enough flash and bang in front of us we won't notice they are basicly retreading over stuff they've already done. Oh....No these are the Ori....TOTALLY different the Goa'uld. These guys are pale and want you to worship them.
OOOOOOOHHHHHHH!

In response to tom:

How so?  The whole thing with Henry Gale sucked.  We knew he wasn't what he said he'd be.

Rundown:

Man of Science, Man of Faith:       Nice strong opening, told us a lot about what's been happened and Jack's past.

Adrift:     Lots of faux tension and gayness on a raft, that was extended way longer than necessary.

Orientation:     The show wraps up parts from the previous eps and we see the film strip.

Everybody Hates Hugo:     Boring flashback with an obvious conclusion.  Lame, time-eating dream sequence.  Hurley's gesture with the hatch food, the only good thing about this episode, is negated when we later learn he's still a food-hording fatass who keeps Ranch.

...And Found:     The non-flashback was acceptable but this told us NOTHING new about Jin.  We find out about that duder who later teaches Sun English and how they met, things that did not need their own fricken extended flashback (and probably could've been in Sun's episode).

Abandoned:     What was this one, the death of Shannon?  So hammy and frickin corny it was beyond belief.  Sentiments of love seem to be practically force-fed into the actors mouths, visions of Walt just seem to be over the top, and Sayid gets the required tail from Shannon before her death.  Sayid holding her body in a dramatic pose in the rain was the icing on the cake that said "this is ass".

The Other 48 Days:   My complaint with this one isn't content but the fact that's strung together like a grocery list.  Why couldn't this have been done in as an Ana flashback in a regular episode?

Collision (a.k.a. Old Habits):     Oh course Ana was pregnant, it's the only way she's permitted to "rightfully", by the audience's view, extract revenge.  It would've done a lot more for the character if she had almost died and simply wanted to kill the guy for that reason.  There was nothing here that required a collective 45 minutes or whatever to tell it.

What Kate Did:   1.  Not surprised.  2.  Didn't care.  This all could've been gleamed from far less than an entire episode.

The 23rd Psalm:     I was so bored.  I honestly didn't watch about 80% of this.

The Hunting Party:     Not horrible by any means.  I guess this one was all right.

Fire + Water:     Making for another eye-rolling hour, Charlie goes crazy with lots of inane nonsensical visions.  Again, this show is trying to with time, like Pacman on Crack, eat it like crazy.  Merla throws her hands up in the air and gives up on the series, aside from occassional speed-views with me on the DVR.

The Long Con:   Liked this one.

One of Them:     Started out okay then degenerated into a yawn-inducing q&a torturefest and the pointless murder of an innocent woodland creature.

Maternity Leave:     Decent.

The Whole Truth:     Stupid.  Nominee for one of the gayest twists since "The Village".

Lockdown:     Bleh.  The ending and the beginning were the best parts.

I know it sounds like I completely hate the show or something, but I'm pissed off at the wasted potential and the wasted time.  It's like those half-hour episodes of Idol where all they needed to do was take two minutes to announce three names and they dragged it into a half-an-hour.  Either you have a story to tell or you're killing time and this is a time killer.

I think that's the problem with major tv productions like Lost and 24 and shit. They try to drag it out for as long as they can and milk the bitch until every single penny is out of it, but at the expense of good story. It's as if the networks care more about high ratings and money than they do putting out good material.

Oh wait, they've always been that way.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

This last episode wasn't so bad.  I kinda gagged at the kiss, tho'.  Too bad the Libby spoiler had already done the rounds online or I would've been more impressed with it.

They should all get together and beat down Sawyer.  That'd put him in his place.

I don't go on Lost boards anymore, and the Libby thing make me scream out. It's funny, cuz she was on Drew Carrey. XD

I must say, seeing Hurley wail on Sawyer was pleasing.
