i actually learned japanese looong time ago( and NO it wasn't anime/manga related, fuck no) and my accent, till nowadays, is PERFECT. every japanese guy/girl i talk with tell me the saaame thing.
but no i wouldn't do that.

They may say that here, but a westerner still speaking with any attept isn't a Japanese person.

I have a professor who lived there (she's Italian) and even after living there for 5 years, every trash day her neighbors went through her trashbags sorting it, even though she had. They are an anal people.

I don't see what your stink is about whether or not someone wants to learn or did learn Japanese because they watched anime or read manga. How else was I suppose to come across the language in the first place?

Funny story. We were in a tea ceremony class, and these... people sat and just talked Japanese all through the classes, spouting they hate anime and their love for Japanese culture comes from 'high refinement'. They are hispanic girls (And not hot at all) and a gay thai dude, and all they do is converse in Japanese, noting the ō in Japanese pronouciation and saying, oh no, it's not Sotō, it's SOTOOOOOOOOOO.

Me and Kary lost it and busted out laughing. They went to Japan, and remarked how everyone laughed alot. Hehehehe.

I am in a class with them now, which is a 4000 level history course on East Asia, and they aren't doing to well. Apparently they are 'culture' majors, whatever the fuck that means, and can't write research papers.

But in the Russian's defense, their fleet was drunk off their ass when they engaged the Japanese fleet, and the Russians painted their ships in victory colors... which I am sure did not help...
