Something has me steamed tonight, and it's not the Evangelists I bumped into....

Tonight I was at the local university's anime club's yearly all day festival. Now, every month at the club screenings they have a raffle.

I've seen people spend over $20 on raffle tickets. I've seen people have 6 feet of tickets. I've also seen people win multiple prizes and walk out of the place with arms full.

A few months ago or so, some guy walked out with 5-6 prizes out of a dozen. I was seriously going to jump him, stab his ass and leave his smelly otaku carcass in the gutter.

Tonight, one old man won 3-4 prizes, some asian kid won 3 items, and several other people won 2 items. What fucking pisses me off is the staff does nothing. What they should do is limit the prizes to one per person. One person was nice enough to forfeit his second prize. No one should fucking be winning half the fucking prizes in the contest and not giving anyone else a chance to win.

I have played the raffle a good dozen times over the last 5 years, spent no more than $5 at a time and a total of no more than $30 for the 5 years. So it pisses the fuck out of me when I see someone use their fucking disposable income to buy 50 fucking tickets, then haul ass out of the auditorium with a bunch of prizes they'll probably just sell on Ebay. It's bullshit. Utter fucking bullshit.

It's about fucking time I get a prize before I kill someone. It will probably be the biblethumper in the gorilla outfit.

What's funny here is that he's getting worked up over what were probably shitty prizes like Naruto headbands and old-ass Cowboy Bebop wallscrolls.. And it would probably cost LESS to actually go out and buy these things (rather than buy raffle tickets), but in Dougs world winning prizes from an Anime Club raffle makes him a big man..

They shouldn't waste $20 to begin with. True it's their money to waste, but what a sad thing to waste it on.

And some of us can't afford to spend $20 a raffle. I just think it's bullshit that people who have enough disposable income to spend a bunch of money, so they win a bunch of shit and hog it all, and I have no money and can only put in a buck or two for tickets, and I win shit. Yea, I'm jealous and upset I never win. I'm a broke fucker and I'm pissed people have enough money they can waste it on tickets.

Well, actually, I did win something. But it was a stupid Shounen-ai/yaoi manga and I gave it to some foaming fangirls.

Actually, the prizes included entire box sets of anime series, several mangas, and an Apple iPod, among other things.

Spending more doesn't always work. My co-worker & I buy 10 tickets at a time when we play the lottery, and it's always won by someone who had a buck left over after buying cigarettes. <_<

I bought one Mega Millions ticket and won $3. XD

And I went to another raffle today. 10 prizes.

This guy who looked familiar won 3/4th of the prizes! Everyone had a few tickets, he had a bunch, he took home the whole lot of them.

He looked familiar because I've seen him before. He's been to the raffle several times, buys a bunch of tickets, and wins a lot of prizes. Last raffle he was the one who won the most, 4-5 prizes that time. This time he won 6-7. I've seen him win a bunch before. Come on, they should ban him but then they would be loosing all the money he gives them.

I still stand by my assertion that prizes should be limited to 1-3 per person, so people like this guy can't win 90% of the fricking raffle. And technically, even if you can only win one prize per raffle, you still have a greater chance of winning a prize if you have more tickets.
