My store manager pisses me off sometimes. She's one of those conservative christians with a strong work ethic.. she'll slave us to death to make the store work right, and kiss the customer's asses while she kicks ours.

The trouble started with a new manager who was distracted by some guy in a wheelchair that needed her constant attention for some reason, she must have helped the guy for 40 minutes.

But because she refused to leave the guy, and she was the only manager there, the rest of the store had to wait for her. First the pharmacy's register was awaiting her code and no one could get their prescriptions paid for. So all the customers were coming up to the front, and there was only two cashiers, me and another guy. I had several customers complain and ask where the manager was.

Well, I was starting to get stressed out over the long ass lines we had, and then my register needed approval for a return, so I paged the manager. 5 minutes later, she still wasn't up there.

I went and looked for the manager, and found her helping the guy still. I asked her to leave him for a minute and help the rest of the store, but she refused, she didn't want to offend him. So I walked back up to the front of the store and there was a longer line.

I commented to the other cashier, rather angerly, that we should kick the wheelchair guy's ass out of the store for causing so much trouble. Some nosy bitch overheard me and said "What did you just say?"

Me: "I didn't say anything to you, it's not your concern. I was talking to the cashier here."

Her: "I heard you! You said you wanted to kick the ass of some guy in a wheelchair! You are an evil man!" She turns to the line and is like "Did you hear what this guy said?" Then turns to me. "You should not be saying those kinds of things in a store, mister! I want to talk to your manager!"

So I said "Take a number, it's going to be a while." But I paged the manager again. It took another 5-10 minutes for the manager to get up there, and she opened my register and talked to the customer.

Later on, my store manager called from her home. Seems the bitch lady had whined to her about what I had said, and the manager though I had threatened the guy in the wheelchair to his face. So she told me to go home and she'd talk to me later.

I haven't heard from them since. I think i've lost my job thanks to some whiny obnoxious fat bitch. Oh well, I'm going to prison anyway.. won't matter in the long run.

I was accused of Identity theft by a dumb vacationer who's fat ass couldn't get outta her minivan. She sent in a debit, but refused to use it as credit. So I needed her pin. Of course, she looks at me like I am asking her if she wants to kill someone, but gives it to me. Later she calls, and I pick up, and she starts complaining to me, about me. When I let her know it was me, she asks to speak to the manager.

This topic reminded me of this lady who had placed an order and was just hovering in front of the registers. Frankly, it bothers me when people do that, it just does. I finally ask her if she needs anything else and if not, she could have a seat. She replied that she didn't need anything and "why, am I bothering you" as cheery as can be. I said yeah and I swear you could see the dark little cloud zip right over her head. I profusely apologized that it wasn't meant to offend her and half-expected her to bitch to a manager, but I think I actually hurt her feelings. Christ, if you don't want an honest answer, don't fucking ask. I don't lie to people. Sorry, moo-bitch. Most people would've just said "well too bad" to my answer. I didn't think she'd be any different.

Well, they do kinda own us, as the money they spend goes indirectly to our paychecks.

But this causes some customers to think they're always right and they deserve special treatment. The way I see it, "The customer is always right" is a guideline, not a law.

Several minutes after this, before I got sent home, I had a lady come up to my register. She had bought some deoderant and claimed she got overcharged. Seems the price of the deoderant had gone up 20 cents, she got charged the new price, and the old price was still on the item.

I offered to give her the difference between the old price and the new price, but she wanted the item for free. Said it was store policy. I told her I had worked there for a year and knew there was no such policy. She insisted, saying "customers are always right, so I'm right." Eventually the manager came up and gave her half the price off of the deoderant to shut her up.

I loved the fact she claimed the error was a mistake on my part, even though I had just scanned it and not inserted the price manually. Maybe I should have shown her a dictionary with the word "inflation" highlighted.

I just read the first post so here is my response:

Why didnt you say you wanted to kick your managers ass? I mean the wheelchair guy cant help it if their chari-bound though they most certainly dont need constant supervision while the manager is needed more ugently in other areas. You could have complained to your manager's higher up about that but you had to shoot your mouth off like a fool. Dummy.
All the cripples I know dont want anyones help shopping, they are very proud people, youd piss them off following them around like that. They arent the damn cripple pope.

thats one of the reasons of why i dont like working. i dont let people boss me around, the only one who can do that is my daddd! so if i send them to hell(them being the only place i ever worked, the chamber) then they could have fired me( i wouldnt have cared at all) and then dad would have been angry

Yeah, when I still worked for Safeway my managers were asshats. The way they let me go was unreasonable and I reported their asses to the Union I detested. Got them a $2000 fine too and my old store manager demoted in the process.

When I saw that I thought "Good, this is all over....... oh wait, it isn't."

I read an article about a guy who lived near that hospice and was pissed off at the protesters on his lawn. He said that he asked some guy to move out of his driveway and the guy cussed at him and stormed away, Bible in hand.

And he got called into work on a Sunday, and as he was trying to leave, uber-religious people starting freaking out at him for working on Sunday. Jesus, fuck.

Anyway, I would have been pissed to, but I probably would have kept my thoughts to myself until after the customers were gone. At my work, our pantry is pretty exposed, so when we bitch about customers we either have to do it quietly or wait until they're gone.
