Many hot designers, including Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood, Todd Oldham, Marc Bouwer, and others have turned their backs on fur and created synthetic alternatives that are hip, humane, and easily available and don't turn animals into fashion victims.

As for taking pity on nearly mindless animals  :rolleyes: , having a bunch of them butchered just to make a pair of leg warmers that probably get thrown away after one use for some disgusting hoey diseased-ridden around-the-block hootchie-cootchie skank just pisses me off.  I know that's weird considering I eat meat and like leather, and thus have benefitted from such or similar practices.  Are there companies that have leather from humanely killed animals?  I guess maybe Bernie might know.

Death is an inevitability.  It should at least be as painless as possible.  You have to at least agree there's a difference between lethal injection and throwing cats and dogs in a gas chamber where it takes far longer to die.  That's what we still do in San Antonio pounds as a matter of fact and it's becoming a big issue here.

I've never actually seen any of this in person, but there is a lot of jacked up stuff in Asia... and America, even. Okay that's a weak argument, but being an Asian dude I don't find it too hard to believe....
