The entire staff of the New York radio show "Miss Jones in the Morning" was taken off the air on Wednesday after broadcasting a song that ridiculed victims of the tsunami in South Asia, the radio station said.

New York FM radio station WQHT, or HOT 97, repeatedly ran the segment last week on the show, hosted by deejay Tarsha Nicole Jones who uses the on-air name Miss Jones.

The piece used racial slurs to describe people swept away in the disaster, made jokes about child slavery and people watching their mothers die.

"You can hear God laughing, 'Swim you b**ches swim,' " was one line in the song, sung by staff of the show to the melody of the 1985 famine relief song "We Are the World."

On Monday, the hip-hop and R&B radio station and the deejay apologized and the seven-member morning show crew agreed to donate one week's pay to relief efforts. The tsunami struck on December 26, leaving nearly 300,000 dead or missing around the Indian Ocean from Somalia to Thailand.

The incident is not the first time HOT 97 has been accused of racism and poor taste. The station made headlines when deejay Star, now at another radio station, called Jennifer Lopez a "rice-and-bean eater" and satirized the plane crash that killed R&B singer Aaliyah in 2001.

--the people at work who blast it on the radio despite the fact they aren't suppose to and have been told not to
--the people on the bus with their headphones on, yet everyone on the bus can still plainly hear what they're listening to
--the people in their cars blasting up the damn music so when they pass by a house or place of business, windows shake.  I shouldn't be getting a headache from someone's car music well INSIDE of my own house
--the people in the neighborhood with a hard-on for blaring it for the rest of the neighborhood to hear
--random jackasses  with a need to perform it out in public (!)

This stuff is *always* in that particular genre of music.  The only incident outside of that was someone blasting AC/DC and then later tejano music a grand total of *twice*, and they still didn't do it to the point where if we shut the doors and windows we could still hear it.  It's not like I'm pulling isolated incidents out of my ass.  We're talking tens to dozens of times.   A huge core of the fanbase is just plain inconsiderate and obnoxious.  Not everybody wants to hear everybody else's freakin' music.  It's not a difficult concept to understand.

And just to reiterate something, I wouldn't have crap to complain about if these people would keep it to themselves at a decent volume.  I admit I have far too much rage, but when people start forcing you to listen to it it starts to cultivate the hate.  Think of a song or song genre you don't like or don't care for and picture people blasting it at you everywhere you go.  I had nothing to say about Yeah! by Usher Featuring Lil' Jon & Ludacris when it first came out.   Or Sunshine by Lil' Flip.   I didn't even know who those artists were.  Now I can't freakin' stand those songs.  My pancreas goes into seizures or something.  Those aren't even offensive songs from what I can recall, they've just been overplayed to the shits.

Nothing outside the R&B/Hiphop/Rap thing besides "100 Years" by Five For Fighting irriates me to such extremes.  I can't stand the Celine Dion song from the Titantic either, but I don't recall the last time (if ever) somebody had the audacity to blast it in my ear.
