Andrea Yates is getting a new trial because the stupid prosecuting expert witness made up a Law & Order episode that allegedly inspired her to drown her kids. I always said Martha Stewart should have killed someone.

Don't drive that beater on the Houston freeways! Stall out, and the SafeClear tow truck shows up to take your car & your $75. People are pretty cheesed because they're not only taking wrecks, which need to be cleared, but also overheated cars that need water & cars with drivers in the middle of changing flat tires.

Our lame Clear Channel "alternative station" (i.e., they had the Gorillaz CD) is doing a tsunami relief request drive. The more off-format, the higher the minimum donation, but people are apparently ponying up for old stuff that's fun instead of the usual old stuff that's tired. Heard Oingo Boingo, Romeo Void, Suicidal Tendencies and Revolting Cocks and arrived at work in a good mood for once.

And avoided the other news entirely last night by finally watching the revamped Fist of the North Star. Not bad for Austin ADV.

The disabled kid whose dog was stolen or whatever got it back a few days ago. And some salon is raising funds for tsunami relief something-something. I didn't really pay attention. School starts for me next week and I'm already uneasy, seeing as in my syllabus for Speech, 10% of my grade is allegedly dependant on "the Skinner factor".

I heard about that. Have a car stalled out on the side of the highway for more than 5 minutes (more like 5 seconds) and you get a ticket or get towed or something gay.

To save you folks a trip to Podunk Holler, a guy shoots his wife at the emergency room after a domestic dispute, and then shoots himself. Neither die, so they're kept in the hospital. The man's son and a buddy come there, and then the woman's son and his buddy come to the hospital, and the woman's son shoots the man's son, who died.

Pretty farked up stuff.

We had a freak ice storm that made lots of branches and powet lines fall. The entire powet grid was knocked out, and I think as of a couple days ago there were still a few hundred people without powet.

On Wednesday, the temps jumped from 20s to the mid 50s. And it was raining. Somehow, because of the rain and the temps, some kind of white fog was coming off the snow on the ground. either the snow was subliming, or the rain was turning into mist. The white mist would blow around randomly, making for a surreal effect like a haunted graveyard or something. Sometimes it would blow across the road in places, so you'd have instances of clear sky, then all of a sudden you'd be in pea soup.

Because of this, there was a massive 200 vehicle crash outside the capital that day. Of course, if people would drive properly, there probably wouldn't have been a crash to begin with. Is it just me or is there more deadly accidents nowadays?

SAN ANTONIO -- Police said Friday a man had a backup plan before he allegedly held a woman against her will for 18 hours.

Police also said the man rented a minivan at an Enterprise Rent-A-Car agency that is located less than a mile away from TADD Tech Temp Services at the Alamo Downs Business Park, where the woman worked and was allegedly taken at gunpoint.

The man allegedly told police that he didn't want to harm the woman, who he met on the Internet, and just wanted to talk to her.

The woman told KSAT 12 News that she met the man at a chess club tournament her teenage son attended in Houston and the two had talked about starting a chess-related business together.

Classes were canceled Friday at Holmes High School and Business Careers High School (my old school) because the campus is located across the street from where the standoff occurred.

Sigh, too bad I wasn't still in highschool.

SAN ANTONIO -- A 21-year-old woman said Thursday that she fears her boyfriend will leave the country while police investigate the death of her 1-year-old daughter.

Sindy Riojas said she left her baby, Clarissa Ramos, and her 4-year-old daughter with her boyfriend, Roberto Hernandez, on Monday while Riojas went shopping.

The baby died Wednesday at University Hospital. According to police, Clarissa died from massive head injuries, a swollen brain, hemorrhaging from her eyes and multiple bruises on her forehead.

San Antonio police are handling the death as a capital murder case.

Riojas said she really doesn't know what happened and will rely on God for answers.

God's not a filled out Scantron. I suggest taking better care of the one you've got and closing your legs from now on, seeing as it's just brought you misery.

To update on the news from my area...

The dead guy was from my "town", which has about 500 people but covers a fifth of the county. One of my cousins works that emergency room's front desk, and he would've shot her had he not emptied the gun into the dead guy. And another cousin, who is with the city police, arrested the guy's wingman who'd helped him beat the dead guy before the shooting.

Totally out of touch this weekend - been busy getting things in order for our wedding reception on the 23rd, which I'm very leery about having. With Eddie's mon, psychotic sister-in-law (who will bring the 3-year-old despite strong recommendations not to, no doubt), Eddie's redneck co-workers and all of our gay friends, I may have LOTS of news next week. :huh:

She duped us the whole time. She was never raped or any of what she said. She had self-inflicted injuries to cover her tracks to cover for a drug-deal gone bad. She'd been doing drugs pretty hardcore too. Anyway, when we finally got fed up with her behavior and her car and cell phone were taken away, she deciedes to run away, three days before Thanksgiving mind you... The day before, she comes back with my Aunt and Uncle, trying to get them to mediate a discussion. She literally demands her car and cell phone back, but she's denied. A long police report had to be filed etc. I also think at one point she tried to kill my mom as I caught her fucking with her medicine in one of my insomnia fits.

Two weeks before Christmas, she fucking runs away again. This time, she goes to her biological father's and stays. All's well and good until she files a claim of abuse towards my Mom, Dean (adopted father) and I. I don't even want to post any details of what she claimed, but it was pretty wrong and really severe. Fortunately it was obviosly bogus and we won. We ended up letting her biological father have her as she's way too much stress on my Mom (who's still recovering from cancer mind you). After alot of paper work with a social worker and a few days later things started to feel a bit better. She still wasn't out of our hair yet as she kept harassing my kid sister in school for awhile and demanding her shit. We eventually got around to boxing it up, which took awhile working around fucking Christmas, but it was a good way for my mom and I to vent.

She dropped out of school the next week, and rumors started flying around that her loser boyfriend had knocked her up. Funny enough, she blames my kid sister for speading the "rumor" which turns out to be true and leaves a hilarious voice mail. "Kelsey you fucking bitch, stop making everyone one in school think that I'm a fucking whore because I'm pregnant." Well, Kelsey wasn't the one saying it, it was really her former friend. Funny how her dream went from being a fucking school teacher to now "living in a trailer home with Joey in New York". Big fucking dreams. Anyway, I doubt that douche will even still be around nine months from now.

So now everything is cool, I guess. She was always my half-sister and nothing more. I hope my mom doesn't feel sorry for this baby, because I want Caitlin and her father gone from our lives for fucking good. He's caused enough greif in my lifetime and I'm in a bad enough mood as it is after losing the rest of the vision in my bad eye. That's why 2004 was a fucking bad year.

The night before the reception, Eddie came down with the flu & staggered through 3 hours with fever of 102. At least none of the rednecks showed up - fortunate, because ALL of the queens did!

No trip to Nawlins, but he was well enough for us to go to the zoo Thursday. Glad we didn't have plane tickets or anything. Such is married life, brethern.
