When confronted with the late fee or cost of a consecutive rental, the renter is not so put out. It's just another three or four bucks. Being late now means paying for the whole thing, which is, what, exactly? [dohtml]I doubt it'd be the full MSRP of the movie, but much more than the late fee or rental.[/dohtml] EDIT--I looked up the link, and it'll be $10-17 for DVDs...yeah, bring that puppy back, fool! Point being that the incentive to return the movie is greater now.
Then again, I'm probably missing something here. But I don't care if I am, because I don't rent often at all. No renters around here carry decent anime, and that's almost all I watch these days.
The Flexplay thing I linked to would make video rental something that could be done from a vending machine...put in your buXors, hit the button with the desire movie, take it out of the hopper after it pops out, take it home, watch it over a two-day period until the disk clouds up and you can't use it anymore, and then throw it in the trash. Ba-da-bing. Done deal. No return trip to the store, no putting anything in the mail. Me likey.
