That's downright beautiful.  I hear whales do that, too.

Oh yeah, Merla was telling me about that.  It reminds of me of when we took Anti from the old neighborhood where we used to live.  We were never planning on taking him, but then he got that huge neck gash.  So I decided to take him for treatment, even though Merla intended to have him euthanized.  I called him out from under a car and when Merla and I prepared to take him, two other neighborhood cats who would associate with him approached him as if to say goodbye, the young one even crying.  The older one would NEVER come that close to me, and I would always see him and Anti fight.  They just sniffed noses for a minute.  It was so touching.  I don't know if they felt we were taking him to die, but I think they had a feeling they weren't gonna see him again.

I stayed in Australia for 2 weeks with relatives, and I made a great bond with their adorable rat terrier. She'd follow me around and stuff and rest her head on my lap. Hah hah.

The day my parents and I were leaving for the airport, she had tears coming out of her eyes... I don't know if she was actually crying, but she was pretty silent and still the whole morning.

There was a time when our cats couldn't live with us.  We kept them over at my grandparents' house.  After visiting them we went to our car to leave.  Button ran around the house and over to the car and cried.  It absolutely broke our hearts.

That poor doggie though.  That story made me sad.  =(  Semi-OT, what part of Australia did you visit?

Melbourne.

Don't feel so sorry for the doggie; she's pretty close with her owners (my cousin, uncle, and aunt). Oh yeah, she had a puppy, which lives with her and the family, but I haven't seen a picture of it.

You wouldn't feel bad about killing roaches were you in Texas.  People go after them with .22's here.   They're horrifying, smart, and the flying ones smell fear and chase you around the house.  :(

You sound like my girlfriend.  But I've adopted the 'catch it on some paper and out the door it goes' method.  It seems to quell her fears alright.

Thankfully damned few of them make it past the cats.  If one does, it's a wiley grizzled veteran who lives for the thrill of torment.

The mosquitos in South America are like 6 inches long!

That story is sad, I probably would have cried had I seen it too.

I used to have two cats, one older female (Nike) and a younger, smaller male (B.T.).  When Nike passed away from natural causes, B.T. and my dog kind of sat around the house in this silent awe.  Nike was like the old lady who'd slap your fingers if you got too close to the cookie jar.  My dog once cornered her, and she cut his nose open.
The wife forgave the mistress for she only entertained.

Yeah and for some reason, everytime they do I get the theme from "Airwolf" in my head.

Except for mainly cockroaches and big-ass spiders, I pretty much let the others go.  Button used to kill the roaches.  In this new house, Toki goes after the small non-roach beetles.  She also goes after moths.  Since she's so short and the walls are a tad high, I pick her up and hoist her over my head so she can swat them.  It brings her such joy.
