I've gotten into a spat at another board that I troll. One of the admins asked what everyone thought about the election.

I responded that I was sad that so many Americans were stupid enough to vote for Bush again. I said that this is proof that most people are too stupid to actually vote intelligently. I mentioned that anyone who voted for Bush was a moron (note that BOTH admins sadly voted for Bush). I also noted that sadly, most Bush supporters seemed to be Christians, Middle Class SUV drivers, rich business owners, Gun owners, and backwards hicks.

The general response I got was that I'm an asshole (duh), that I'm generalizing about who voted for Bush (not entirely, the backwards hicks might have been generalizing, but statistically Christians, upper middle class, and the rich overwelmingly voted for Bush), and then asked me why Kerry's so much better?

To that, I don't have a great answer, besides the fact that anything's better than Bush.

I'm backed against the wall with no ammo, and I need to come out with full barrels blazing. What exactly made Kerry a better choice? What was GOOD about Kerry (seemingly not much :rolleyes: ).

And on another topic, my mother's listening to some VERY profane gansta music. Why the fuck do black people think it's so cool to swear so much and act so tough? I need a mile of duct tape and some soap here.

I liked Kerry because he is a calm individual who thinks complex situations through and has no problem with saying that a prior decision may not have been the best in hindsight, but it was the best made on the information available and is willing to consider other options. He isn't a bigot hell-bent on "protecting" individuals from making decisions that affect their own lives, and is willing to look problems in the face and call them by their rightful names instead of throwing up smokescreens disguised as greater issues and magnifying them with fearmongering. He realizes that wars are fought by armies of individuals conglomerated into cohesive units, and said units will vanish without more individuals to replace them; therefore keeping good relations with strong allies who have lots of people in their armies is a good idea.

Unfortunately, in a country paralyzed by panic and seeing evil men in turbans behind every wall conspiring with gay couples trying to hypnotize Our Children by waving a marriage certificate so they can steal their stem cells, a little more than half the voting population decided that guns, bombs and the mouth of Those In Power firing off at any threat, real, perceived, or otherwise, will Keep Us Safe.

Nothing wrong with guns if you use them properly and don't let your kids or angsty teens play with them.

That was a reference to a letter I got from the Michigan Republicans and the Michigan chapter of the NRA denouncing Kerry's stricter gun control laws, saying they take away hunters freedoms. And then the letter went on about how much Bush supports gun owners.

It didn't change my mind.

I came back on to say that if you guys DO get on this board, don't turn this into a flamefest or a board invasion. I don't want you guys fucking around and screwing up another board by coming in masse and launching massive flamewars. The only reason I made this topic was for suggestions on rebuttals to their arguements, especially them demanding reasons Kerry would make a good president.

BTW, there is a Dangerous D name there that's not me. I'm Leonis. The one they say is whining on my Livejournal about the board.

Still think it's funny that admin threatened to ban me and report me to my ISP for a vauge threat to the other admin in Texas. She lives to far away, there are plenty of Repubican fodder around here to target. Plus, my ISP will probably not give a shit anyway.
