I never really liked him because I grew up with media after he ascended to become 'king of all media'. Now he's a prick professionally who opped out of Radio to hide in Satellite so he could continue to do what he does, which is fine, but then completely phones in (so I've heard) his shows on satellite with many other doing the wierd stuff and he sits back. Now with Sirius absorbing XM and then Sirius going bankrupt, he stands on the precipice of his career dying in a fizzle. Example? His ratings stink on satellite. How do I know? As an XM subscriber, they offer us 'the best of Sirius', which is just Howard for 10 bucks a month. If I wanted him, I would have Sirius instead of XM. Now he's offering all XM subscribers a free week of his show and then shits on XM during this time (keep in mind it's only been two days, but he does whine alot). Satellite Radio might be dead, or at the very least it will have to cut a deal with the government which will fuck them in the long term since it means accepting the FAA as their lord and savior.
Why is mainstream radio dying, also?
I listen now and hear more songs from the 90s and the promise of less talk more rock. If I wanted just music I'd listen to my iPod, I like hearing some talk while driving. Plus, why would I want to listen to more commercials?
I now only listen to XM and NPR while driving, and I've never been happier.
