On Nov. 30th, these two girls I was in color guard with crashed into a median when they were trying to switch places while driving (at least, that's what I read). The one girl suffered a broken vertebrae and they had to put a support rod in her back.
The other girl had tons of internal bleeding, brain swelling and other internal damages. After multiple surgeries (one to remove part of her brain because it was swollen and pushing on her brain stem), it didn't look like she'd make any sort of recovery so her family decided to let her go.
She died yesterday at the age of 17. I'm good friends with her older brother but he moved out of town and I haven't talked to him in months.
It's sad when shit like this happens, especially to someone like her who was so happy and loving and charismatic. She was actually an incoming freshman when I was graduating, but I remembered her out of everyone.

I'm sadden, but I know there are more people who are even more sad because they were actually close to her.
Teh sad.
