People still have godparents?
Well her godmother is our aunt, so it's not like we don't see her all the time already. I thought mine were long since lost forever after we left Germany in the early eighties. So a couple of weekends ago, Merl and I visit our old man at his house and give him some pictures my mom had dug up of people from his Army days (she, understandably, didn't want them). Well those people were in one of the pictures and I mentioned something about my "long lost grandparents" and he was all "no, they're not lost. I've kept contact with them to this very day" and I was all "fuck you, man, WTF" but in slightly different wording than that.
