Where do I start?
The Merchant? FTW. They weren't looking hard enough. I used to watch some of the series and I've seen all of the movies. I'm fairly certain there are worse offenders than the bookend character from the first movie. I would even say Jafar on the account that he looks the most ethnic, yet is the villain while all the more whitey-looking tan folks are good. I mean, Cracked brought that point up too so they should've just gone with it.
How is Sebastian racist if he's supposed to be Jamacian? I find the fish to be kinda funny tho'. But I guess the Cracked people would've prefered "whitey" fish. I'm 99% certain Sebastian's drawn that way to reflect his voice actor. Did they want his lips smaller or what?
Louie was based off a real person, Louis Prima, who also voiced the character in the movie. Prima was used as inspiration for the king of the apes/monkeys/whatever because he was the "king of swingers" back when "swinger" was more musical and less teh-sexual. Get it? Swing? Mon-kay? His widow even sued Disney after the Louie character was used in episodes of "Talsepin". Where are the cries of injustice on Phil Harris being a fat lazy bear not once, but TWICE? Prima wasn't even black! He was fucking Italian. CRACKED LOSES BIG.
As for the Chinese cats, I know I saw that episode back in the day but I don't really recall it that well. I thought for sure they'd go for the ones from Lady and the Tramp or the hugely, blatantly racist siamese cat in the Aristocats. Find a clip of "Everybody Wants to be a Cat". The Chinese cat is such a fucking coolie it's not fucking right. He even comes with a typefied Italian "mama-mia" accordian player friend. Which reminds me, I'm certain Disney has done a huge number against Italians, yet there's not a single one on that list. Anyway, those cats in the article are lightweights.
The crows never cease to amaze me and then I remember I've seen worse crows than those.
