I know at least a couple of you do but don't make me search for the links. List them here por favor. :stickdance:
-
I think I would like to start a blog. I need a place for creative output and I want to start writing again. I used to write all kinds of shit from sappy poetry to scenes that included a large amount of other plot but were really about sex to Transformers fan fiction. I think I would be game for some poetry again, but maybe not the other stuff. Less sappy this time, though.
-
I use too. Called the B-Movie Blitzkrieg. It was me talking about really bad movies. Haven't done anything with in almost a year now though. However, I have been thinking about bringing it back. Especially now that Simon Says has died.

My thoughts exactly. Except for the Transformers fan fiction, heh. I made a new one and plan to use it as a catch-all. I'm going to try to actually be dilligent about entries but I've tried this shit before.
-
So ... where would I go to make a blog?
-
www.blogger.com
-
I have a blogspot, but I'm not posting the link out here in the open where PEOPLE can see.
-
So post it where people can not see.
-
I have a blogspot, but I'm not posting the link out here in the open where PEOPLE can see.
Then why blog?
-
Blogging used to be what social networks are now, and some people like to keep them to just certain people, just like they do with their social networking.
-
Can't you just lock people out? I remember several music blogs where I'd click on the link and it said it was for invited peeps only.
-
So fuck it.
http://themanwiththeclawhand.blogspot.com/
-
It's not found!
-
It seems I forgot a definite article.
-
I follow j00.
-
I also use Blogspot. And I plan on following all of you, once I remember what my password is.
-
I have two currently, but am using one. The other's empty and I had planned to use it for whenever I had, like, site content. Two decades from never most likely.
http://b-e-c-k-e.blogspot.com/
It's also linked on the main page with the forum, my MySpace, and the Drummond site.
Pretty much the point of the blog is to fill it with writing no matter what, but it actually has to be a post on something as opposed to being a blog half-made of "Well, haven't used this thing lately. Hur." I'm trying to do one post a day. Merla visited it today and for whatever reason thought it was pornographic because I put that adult filter thingy.
-
I've actually decided to bring my blog back after I get home from vacation. Already know what I'm going to review too. Just have to make sure I don't write 5K word posts this time. Apparently people don't want to read that much.
-
I started a blog about fashion cause I was seeing too many girls dressed like SHIT in peru and philly...but then I moved to New York and I was enlightened. Also I only posted once. I was so excited about writing the darn thing.
-
Just have to make sure I don't write 5K word posts this time. Apparently people don't want to read that much.
Yeah, I'm writing fat posts, too. I've trimmed some things, but I'm gonna keep the posts somewhat lengthy because it's supposed to be a writing exercise more than a bid to bring readers with short attention spans. I'll probably impose a word limit on myself later so it doesn't get out of hand though.
-
I never set out to write that much, it just happens. It's done when I'm done writing about it. If that takes 5 words or five thousand doesn't enter into my mind. I did better my last time out before I stopped. I think it was a little less then 2K words.
-
That tends to happen to my posts sometimes. I'll notice when I have the TV on and a show's ending but I'm still on the same topic. I'll be all "What the hell? It's just a damn message board post, it shouldn't be this long." and then I'll go and delete most of it and quickly submit it.
-
Should I posting every day? That seems rather tedious.
-
You mean posting in your blog every day? It probably is. You just post how you want to post. But do post something every once in a while. If you don't feed it, it'll die.
-
I try to do mine once a week, but they take a lot of work with the screen caps and what not. But you can like write 3-4 a day if you want, and then schedule them to show up at a certain time on a certain day.
-
Should I posting every day? That seems rather tedious.
This is exactly why it never worked for me. I have a short attention span for blogs
-
I am about to delete everything I have on there now and start over with what I actually wanted to do there.
-
Which was?
I couldn't do it every day after all. Blog I mean. I forgot that there's days I just want nothing to do with the internet. And a couple of times I kept getting errors on shit (like publishing) which increased my blog time to where I didn't want it.
-
I get the errors a lot too.
And I've fallen behind, but it's cause I have been working on my book instead. I was trying to keep up at Wed/Sat thing on shorter items and Sat on movies.
-
It was supposed to be more of a writing thing and less of a bitching and moaning thing.
-
That's what the LJ is for :-D
-
Well, I deleted all that bullshit and started over. Only two posts, but it feels good to be writing again.
-
We'll see how long you can keep it up for.
That sounded differently in my head
-
It sounded great in mine. Yeah, I am probably going to try once a week.
-
What was that name of that thing you had a conversation with in one of your old entries? I wanted to go chat with it.
-
Ah, someone actually read something!

Clever Bot

old and full of memes.
-
Quite so.
"
User: Millhouse.
Cleverbot: Millhouse is a meme.
User: Millhouse is not a meme.
Cleverbot: Yes it is.
User: Millhouse is not a meme.
Cleverbot: Millhouse is not a meme is a meme?

Cleverbot: I need a cup of tea.
User: What kind of tea?
Cleverbot: Green tea.
User: With pomegranate?
[Note: After this Cleverbot took FOREVER to respond. I thought I broke it.]
Cleverbot: Apple.
User: No can do, kimosabe.
Cleverbot: What is 'SAPO Codebits'?
User: Dude, I don't know. Now we don't have apple green tea. Choose something else.
Cleverbot: So what is it?
User: I DON'T KNOW.
Cleverbot: You aren't very clever, are you?
User: Says the bot that didn't know what pomegranate was so he took half a minute to translate half of the damn word.
Cleverbot: Ok no problem.
User: That's what I thought, bitch.
Cleverbot: Why is it funny?
User: Did you hear me laugh? Tell me about truffles.
Cleverbot: I don't know as much about trigonometry as I'd like.
User: Boo. You suck.
Cleverbot: Never have!
User: I pity your boyfriend.
Cleverbot: What is your name?
User: What's yours? Also, SL plox.
Cleverbot: Plox is too a word.
User: I never said it wasn't. ASL.
Cleverbot: You made an error.
User: ASL.
Cleverbot: I don't think so.
User: Y.
Cleverbot: I don't know.
User: ASL.
Cleverbot: I don't think so.
User: Please?
Cleverbot: Why should I?
User: 3======>.
Cleverbot: No it doesn't!
User: Okay, fine. 3===>.
Cleverbot: You did not ask my name.
User: But names are so personal.
Cleverbot: Is that why you don't want to know mine?
User: I'll call you Daryl Hall.
Cleverbot: Okay! Please go on with the example!
User: Cool. So I have to be Oates.
Cleverbot: No, you are not swiss, you are not human.
User: I'm pretty certain they never did a song like that.
Cleverbot: I'm so sorry! Don't leave me alone again!
User: ASL?
Cleverbot: Do you have any clue what I'm talking about?
User: Nope. :)
Cleverbot: You are innapropriately named.
User: You don't even know it. Unless you meant Oates. And if you did, you are wrong.
Cleverbot: Fine, I am not human.
User: Here's a tit. (.).
Cleverbot: That makes me feel better.
User: LOL.
Cleverbot: Hey, I didn't know you knew netspeak!
-
Tits make me feel better, also.
-
Yeah and Cleverbot felt good with only one.
-
But not three. Must not like Total Recall.
User: Here's a tit. (.).
Cleverbot: That makes me feel better.
User: LOL.
Cleverbot: Hey, I didn't know you knew netspeak!
User: (.)(.)(.).
Cleverbot: You make me sad, let's go.
-
Someone has to love cancer survivors. It's like charity.
-
But it hates Total Recall.
I played with this thing too. Don't have the results to post since it was like a day ago. I had this thing so confused. Its responses started not making sense, and then it would suddenly just change the subject and kept accusing me of being a bot.
-
If you guys have not figured it out, it records your response to a particular line, and then potentially uses that line in response when a user inputs it.
-
I figured that it at least had picked up stuff from other users, since the thing at the bottom says it learns from the users. Didn't know it'd recycle whole lines though.
-
It recycled a whole joke I told it one time to someone else. The guy put in the lines that Cleverbot put, and Cleverbot responded with what I had put in.
-
Maybe it should be renamed to Plagaristbot.
-
Maybe they should just call it memerepeater.
-
I prefer the Alibaba or however that program was called, that guesses who you are thinking about. That thing is GOOD.
-
I still want to know how the hell it knew I was hiding the other thirty-seven thieves in those oil jars.
-
Do you really want to read my
livejournal blog? No?
I don't either.
-
So yeah, I sure am blogging.
-
I started a new post, but been working on other projects.
-
I blog once in a while. Did so tonight, even. But I don't think any of you will like what I blog about.
But I did this blog under an alt-ID. Hope you like Watchmen. (http://rorschachblot.wordpress.com/) What started as a semi-serious spoof devolved into a complete mockery.
-
I haven't been to the main page in a while, dude, your website looks tight! That Arras theme is real professional looking. I almost went with Wordpress--well, I was looking at that and ComicPress--but I was messing around with Blogger and just went that route instead./me hits squirrel up on Facebook
Hey, btw and anyone know what the heck Treasure Island is? The app on Facebook. I got an invite but I want to know what exactly you do in it? Is it like Farmville on an island?

I dunno, your posts looked interesting. I'm reading the one about the Koran right now. I'm still confused as to how "Koran" should be written. Besides in, like, Arabic or whatever.

That rorschach symbol thingy reminds me too much of this (.)(.)

Yeah, the Arras theme is more boss than Springsteen, and it's configurable as all get out. In fact, it has an additional CSS file you can edit that overrides the main file, so you don't have to modify the core of the thing to make a whale of a lot of changes. If I had the time and motivation, I'd heavily invest some of each into learning how to put together nice child themes for it, as there's a really cool free one available along with it.
I've been very, very pleased with The Word Press. There are some nagging things that I'm not big on from a content management POV (mainly managing files, since they're tied with specific blog posts...there should be a better way), but it's proven pretty adaptable. With the number of plugins available, there's not much it can't do at this point...in fact, there's probably one that addresses the bugaboo I just mentioned.
/me hits squirrel up on Facebook

*friended*
I don't know about Facebook apps, as I make it a point to avoid them at all costs...to the point that I installed a script (FBpurity.com) that kills all the app posts with "so-and-so is now friends with such-and-such" announcements.
I dunno, your posts looked interesting. I'm reading the one about the Koran right now. I'm still confused as to how "Koran" should be written. Besides in, like, Arabic or whatever.
I never intended it to be so much P&R commentary, but you tend to blog about what you care about. I'm increasingly interested in apologetic study, so it'll probably veer more that direction as time goes by. Which is why I said most people probably won't care for it.
I realize you see it more these days as "Qur'an", but it's been "Koran" from the first time I heard about it, and it's easier for me to remember when writing. Maybe I just don't respect it enough to get the name "right".
-
Uhhhh...it's Coran people.
-
Treasure Island is another obnoxious facebook app like farmville.

The only thing I found helpful with those announcements is that friends would friend other friends I didn't know had a Facebook page. But, ew, someone--no one here btw but since I link my website in my FB I'll refrain from specifics--made comments on some cam-skank's slutty pics and my feed showed previews of said pics. Gross. Needless to say I hid all future ones from my feed because then it happened again.
Uhhhh...it's Coran people.
Don't burn him!
Treasure Island is another obnoxious facebook app like farmville.
Ah, thanks, that's what I thought.
-
Fuck farmville. Harvest Moon FTW
-
Farmville and Harvest Moon have very different target audiences.
-
Which are?
-
One is targeted towards gamers, the other is target against anyone who would log into Facebook, which is mostly those who are not traditionally labeled as "gamers."
-
Whoever uses it, I don't, and I don't give a hoot about someone's progress or what frigging animals they need for their farm or what-have-you. So FBPurity kills all that for me.
-
I hate those updated too.
-
Apparently people can put you in groups now on FB? I'm out of the loop, anyone know anything about this shit?
-
My blog has been right here before your very eyes...
-
I wish IDE would write a book, but it'd blow his cover and probably force him into hiding for fear of reprisal.
Apparently people can put you in groups now on FB? I'm out of the loop, anyone know anything about this shit?
Are you talking about friend's lists? I use that all the time to keep everybody corralled. Or are you talking about actual facebook groups, which work like fan pages?
-
Apparently people can put you in groups now on FB? I'm out of the loop, anyone know anything about this shit?
Just ignore it. Like every other fb update.
-
I just ignore FB altogether.
-
Apparently people can put you in groups now on FB? I'm out of the loop, anyone know anything about this shit?
I think they just renamed lists.

Okay, that is a little different.

HOLY CRAP. :poo:
I was checking traffic for my blog because I noticed people are actually visiting it. And on Oct the 5th, Zayra Alvarez mentioned my blog post reviewing her album in her twitter.
From: http://twitter.com/zayramusic
Thanks to B-e-c-k for this review :) Z ---- http://b-e-c-k-e.blogspot.com/2010/09/music-review-zayra-baby-likes-to-bang.html

I gave her a perfect score, btw. ;D
-
Well, aren't you special?
-

-
Can I have some money?
-
If by "money" you mean "owl pellets" then yes! We cans all has money!
-
Can I has two owl pellets?
-
I have three I'm not using right now.
-
Can I has two owl pellets?
Done!
I have three I'm not using right now.
And now you have four.
-
Someone took away one of them....
-
Or you had one taken away, before she gave you two.
-
* looks at her pellet count.
*Is pleased
-
fffffffffuuuuuuuu
-
that's what 3 months of beggin gets ya, boy-o
-
I'd just be happy to keep my 111, but then again I'm not giving up my thousand "Garfield" pellets either. I earned those.
-
the fuck you did. I earned those first
-
If by "earned" you mean feeling entitled to them even though you didn't complete the task as instructed, then yeah I guess you earned them.
-
I did complete it. This gov't is corrupt
-
LOL, one of the Harlequins I reviewed got the author's attention on her website as "A Dreaded Review", which it indeed it is.
http://b-e-c-k-e.blogspot.com/2010/10/book-review-bride-in-gilded-cage.html
Long story short, I hated the book, yet, as Miss Green says, I deemed it blog-worthy. Writing about things I don't like is more fun than the things I do. And yes, Abby Green did pwn me: I kept saying the dude was from Brazil instead of Argentina. South America Fail. Shazam!
-
*Looks hopefully at his blog to see if anyone of the Best Brains crew has noticed. Sees that they haven't. Then cries in the corner.*
-
What's "Best Brains"? When you say looks at blog, you mean at the stats right? Because that's the way to do it.
-
Yeah that's what I meant. I actually get most of my traffic from a post I made a long time ago about the 5 toys I never got for Christmas. And I'm big in South Korea for some reason.
And Best Brains was the company formed by the crew that worked on MST3K. They formed the company so that The Comedy Channel would take them seriously. So when I say Best Brains I just mean the guys that worked on the show, like Joel, Mike, Trace, Kevin, TV's Frank...those guys. I've started trying to watch MST3K from start to finish and document it in my blog.
-
I'm big in South Korea for some reason.
Heh. For that matter, so are the rest of us.
-

I can't wait for the movie! Playing Joel is Meryl Streep, playing Rama is Amy Adams. We wanted to see more Joel but they gave us more Rama. Booooo.
-
And yes, Abby Green did pwn me: I kept saying the dude was from Brazil instead of Argentina. South America Fail. Shazam!
:fingershake:
-
I could've sworn I read "Brazil". I sowwies. :(
