About time y'all got some of our infernal precipitation. It rains here pretty much every day. Our house gets hammered about every 3 days because we're not too far from downtown and Gulf moisture combined with superheated concrete canyon air makes for a mess. We finally coughed up about $3K this year to put drains in the back yard since we were tired of it always being half underwater because of everyone around us building giant houses that take up all the former permeable yard.
It's gotten to the point where I really hate rain, and I used to love it. But we don't get normal summer showers - it's either no rain at all or psycho killer clown rain that tries to get in the house like a drunk ex.
-
I hope it sticks around for a while. Like I said in that other thread, we've been pretty crunchy over here.
-
We're getting rain today. I wonder if I live close to Nuri than I thought.
-
Not as close as Bernie.
-
But closer than Lord Zed.
-
Well yeah. He lives on the fucking Moon.
-
We're getting rain today. I wonder if I live close to Nuri than I thought.
Where did you think I lived?
Our rain looks like it's drying up. Boo-hoo.

In Texas but not close to Dallas but maybe closer than I thought.
-
What? Did you just ask me a riddle? Is the answer "man"?
I hear you folks are getting the rain up there. Send it back down please.
-
I see, so that would indicate you are in some manner "south."
I hope your not in Houston. I never did like Houston. And if you do, well, at least I was honest.
-
I live in a cardboard hut by the Alamo at the precise spot where Ozzy took a leak. Bernie's in Houston.
-
Poor Bernie.
I like San Antonio. Keep the Alamo from going away, please.
-
Oh, we will. That mall next door won't let it go anywhere.
-
Here's the latest reason for me to loathe Houston:
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ent/arts/gray/6563161.html (http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ent/arts/gray/6563161.html)
Another gray cloudy day. the weather prediction has been the same every day going on nine weeks now - "chance of rain/thundershowers". Guess I should be on the lookout for Twilight vampires to move here from Washington State.
-
That fucking blows. Now I do loathe Houston even more than I did. And I actually didn't have a rational reason before.
-
Mail the water to me.
-
This is a silly idea.
I like it.
-
You can have ours. It rained here again today. Seems like it's been raining all summer.
-
There's been a strange golden glowing sphere in the sky all morning that seems vaguely familiar. The clouds are gathering, trying to smother it. :(
-
strange golden ... sphere
This place? :D
-
I've seen this place more in the past two months than the sun. 8) I'll send my rain to San Antonio & Brownsville.
I'm happy today. Humidity is low and it's getting cooler; lovely blue sky. Bring on autumn! :hump:

I'm quite happy to keep the rain in Dallas, personally.
-
We want rain today. Maybe go outside and blow really hard, and a cloud will stray over here.
-
No.
-
Ha Ha...Denied.
-
No.
Fuck you! We were spat on. SPAT ON. Boo. There's clouds with drops for the middle of the week, so we'll see how that goes.
-
I have that for the middle of the week, too! Excited!
-
Should I even mention that it rained here again today?
No..that would be insult to injury, so I won't mention it.
-
Go outside and blow the clouds down here, damn you! It's like a Genki Dama, it won't beat Buu if everyone doesn't fucking help! :goddammit:
-
There are giant destructive clouds over my head right now.
-
Go outside and blow the clouds down here, damn you! It's like a Genki Dama, it won't beat Buu if everyone doesn't fucking help! :goddammit:
I'd gladly give them too you. It's actually flooding in some places here. I live on a ridge so it never floods here, but some of the lower areas are drowning. And all the creeks and rivers and way up. The Lake is really high too and I figure they'll have to open the flood gates on the dam soon to let some of it out.
Tell you what...I'll put the fan outside and aim it South-West. Don't how much good it'll do. It'll be working against the Jet Stream. It'd be easier to ask you to send me rain, since our weather usually comes from Texas and hits the warm Gulf air and is pushed up over and across Missouri, but I will try.
-
Rain deluged đe midwest on Sunday. I was driving ţrough rainfall almost đe entire 8 hour drive from Ohio to Wisconsin.
-
We've had almost constant rain over the last couple weeks, with a break hopefully coming Tuesday.
-
Did you get the rain I wished your way Tuesday Nuri, huh, huh??! I almost went off the road trying to drive in to work - visibility was practically zero from rain. :(
-
So far, so good! Well, not for your zero visibility, but your wishing appears to have worked. It's even been cool in the evenings and that hasn't happened in quite a while.
-
I'm so happy fall seems to have arrived. Just wait, it'll be gone next month.
-
Yes, awakening to the gentle hum of the A/C is one of my favorite childhood holiday season memories. :P
-
Someone once told me that Colorado was heaven in the winter and hell in the summer.
It old him we just know about the hell part.
-
We've had nothing but windy, cloudy days, with a few of the days being nothing but drizzly and cold.
I'm surprised it's going down in the 40s and 50s in Sept, but then again we've had a cool summer.
-

Yay - another "cool" front tonight, which does nothing but set off another round of storms to slog to work in and drop the temp about 3 degrees. We have algae growing on the ground in spots. :goddammit:
-
Yeah, I had rain on the way to work today.
So, I'm a little curious.
And I'm probably wrong about this:
We have someone living in Houston, San Antonio, and Dallas. Is there anyone living in Austin? That would make our collection of important cities in Texas complete. The rest don't matter.
-
I don't believe we've ever had an Austinite here.
-
Crazy. Maybe I'll move to Austin and count for both Austin and Dallas. Huzzah.
I also just realized the joke of the tittle of thisfthread.
-
I've been threaten to move to Austin.
-
I've been threaten to move to Austin.
I'm unsure if you mean your threatening or have been threatened.
-
Meh, just ignore him.
:D
-
-
*le Sigh* :(
And I wouldn't be so quick to throw stones there buddy. Your typo numbers have been on the increase as of late.

I've been drinking more.

So drunk Rama would be, like, incomprehensible.

Well I've been sniffing more glue. There...ready made excuse. Now if you'll excuse me there is a model of a 1969 Dodge Charger, that I won't finish, with my name on it.
-
THUNDER!! LIGHTNING!! GUSTING WINDS!! POWER OUTAGES!! Take some of this back pwease. :(
-
"Be careful what you wish for." would be appropriate, but instead I will just point and laugh and think of Karma.
-
There's nothing karmic about this.
-
How do you know? You lord of Karma now?
-
Kismet, perhaps.
-
i hate this weather. In the morning/early afternoon its nice and somewhere around 4pm it starts getting cold as hell. I can't stand it!
-
How do you know? You lord of Karma now?
Yes, yes I am.
-
Well you're not very good at your job. I'd like to speak with your manger please.
-
You rang?
-
'___'
So is there like a number I could call or something?
-
Nope, just me. Did you want to do this nude or something? We have a special, screened off room with tasteful art and fine selection of phallic foods. My favorite are the taquitos.
-
So I'm going to get fucked...Hey this is customer support.
-
We aim to simply make it as comfortable as possible, but I am sorry that we can't alter the outcome. Be glad an American is doing it, those Indians have no tact for intimacy or knowledge of soft-tissue pain thresholds.
-
Oh well that is very nice. Fancy. Could I have a spot of tea first? You know helps me relax and I think that might be a good thing.
-
But of course. One roofie or two?
-
Oh no thank you. I want to remember this. Have to tell the shrink something you know. Getting a bit mundane in there. Well guess I'll just lay back and think of England.
-
There will always be an England.
-
We aim to simply make it as comfortable as possible, but I am sorry that we can't alter the outcome. Be glad an American is doing it, those Indians have no tact for intimacy or knowledge of soft-tissue pain thresholds.
Who made the kama sutra? If you had said "those Pakis" instead, it would be believable.
-
We also made the nuclear bomb, can you build one? Don't fucking generalize about cultures.
-
Come on . . . really?
-
I'm serious. Racism like that has no place on the internet.
-
Wait . . . wha- . . . really?
-

I thought it was a customer support barb, ergo Indians. Since when has Pakistan ever handled our customer support?
-
About the same time as India, IIRC.
-
Really? I was not aware.
-
Costa Rica does it too. People like to refer to them as "those puerto ricans"
-
I just like to keep with uninformed racism and call everyone that lives below the Rio Grande Mexican.
-
Did you know the Rio Grande is actually not all that grand? Its pretty tame, actually.
-
Well I didn't name it.
-
The Gordita Supreme is also not so supreme or so I'm told. Discuss.
-
Đis is still đe best topic name on the front page. Possibly ever.
-
The Gordita Supreme is also not so supreme or so I'm told. Discuss.
I refuse on the grounds I haven't had one in at least four years.
-
I had the black-jack taco today. The shell was black and they used a Cheddar/Monterey Jack cheese blend. I opted for no jizz sauce. It was delicious.
-
I don't think they sell that in Texas.
-
Never heard of it.
-
It's new. I was coming home from the airport last night @ 1am (long drive from Boston, but there are no late-night flights from Miami to the NE except to Boston) and I was HUNGRY. I know Taco Bells are open late, but alas in the NE they aren't open that late. However, I saw the posters (haven't seen a commercial for it) and so today before the gym I stopped at the local 'Bell and ordered one up. It was delicious!
RI got first dibs at the KFC sandwich that replaced the bun with fried chicken titties. We have wierd fast-food firsts.
-
Ha ha, that thing disgusts me so.
-
I saw a Ad on TV for that Black Jack Taco. I'm indifferent about it.
-
It's just a taco with new cheese and a black shell. Like Obama!
-
When I said "it digusts me", I was referring to the KFC chicken majigger.
-
I thought you meant Obama winning the peace prize for... what has he done?
-
Obama won a nobel peace prize? What?
-
Apparently continuing two wars that he said he would end doesn't preclude one, but then they only judged his first two weeks.
-
I thought you meant Obama winning the peace prize for... what has he done?
He's black and articulate. Seriously though, didn't someone have to nominate him? Who did it? Will we only find out in 50 years? How many of us will be dead by then besides Larry King? And then, once he was nominated, didn't other people--like, Norwegian people--have to go "Yeah, that's a good idea." How does this shit work?
-
I'm so sick of Obama. I hated him before when he did nothing and now he's not doing anything while also being President and getting accolades for doing nothing even though he should be doing something.
-
I didn't really expect him to do anything, well anything really killer awesome anyway. So I'm getting exactly what I expected. It's real easy...you just don't treat him like the 2nd coming of Jesus and then he's not such a let down.
-
Obama won a nobel peace prize? What?
Don't fucking get me started here. I bitched on fb, bitched on msn, aim, at work, at home , @ the restaurant I went dining too. I almost puked a little in my mouth. Fuck this shit. And I had a headache all day cause of that crap
-
Today at Autumnfest a booth was loaded with Obama crap. Guess the ethnicity of those selling it?
-
Dutch-Irish.
Did I win?
-
...Wow.
You do; A kiss.
-
Well alright, but no tongue...at least not on the first date.
-
It's hardly the first date. Remember that reach-around last Burning Man?
Yo.
-
Why did he win? Why, it's elementary! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZyPaivOARM)
-
That's racism!
Well, so is giving an award to a black guy for being black. If they gave it to a guy being white, it'd be Sweden 1939. Look it up.
-
It's okay to disagree with Obama's Nobel Peace Prize, but don't blame Barack.
It's not his fault he won.
-
It's hardly the first date. Remember that reach-around last Burning Man?
Yo.
Are you kidding. I don't remember ANYTHING about last Burning Man at all. It's all a blur of glitter body paint and B-O.
-
Don't swallow so much E next time, baby bird.
-
It's okay to disagree with Obama's Nobel Peace Prize, but don't blame Barack.
It's not his fault he won.
If he wasn't born he wouldn't have won it. He could have committed suicide while in the womb. So yes its his fault!
-
It's the fault of society for being so race-guilty. Why is it every commercial with a 'smart person' is black and the 'dumb one' is white? Why do the Brinks Security ads only feature white home invaders, when blacks commit 90% of the crime. Why is Al Sharpton influential when all he does is capitalize on black/white crime, but ignores the barbarism when that poor innocent black kid got stomped by other blacks.
Therefore, negro president gets shiney gold medal.
-
It's a pretty empty gesture, because he'll never be able to enjoy it.
-
And if he wins another one, it'll just cancel the first one out. Therefore, he'll have to win at least a third for it to have any meaning.

I don't know how guilty they could possibly be when tv still manages to make practically nothing but stories starring upper-middle-class white folks with occassional ethnic sidekicks. The least commercials could do is make the black guy smart, but, you know, I really haven't seen enough of those sorts of commercials to think it a trend. Considering most commercials have white folks and barely stick in enough of "other" to begin with anyway, it'd be nice to make the few of them out there somewhat intelligent.
And while I don't doubt that Brinks is just doing stupid egg-shell walking so black customers won't get angry, they could also not want black people in their commercials to begin with for varying reasons. (Although the funniest and most ironic excuse would be that the white actors who played the thieves were the most qualified actors for the part.) Oh, and Al Sharpton's just a douche.

But isn't this prize awarded by Norwegian people? Doesn't Norway deserve the giant "WTF"?
-
Hahaha.
Norway is already a giant WTF in so many ways.
But the whole Nobel thingy is based out of Sweden.
Speaking of Nordic peoples, has everyone seen the Techno Viking (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1nzEFMjkI4)? Just wait for him, he doesn't arrive right away.
Technically, he's probably German, but I'm just surprised I've never heard of him until recently.

Even better. Now we can call it an entire Scandinavian thing: You already like their snazzy electro-pop and symphonic metal, you'll love their WTF!

Why oh why was he not dressed like Hagar the Horrible? At least wear the hat!
-
Wow, those man tatas are really moving now.
-
I was kind of wondering about that myself. Does that happen with all pecs, or has he just not been lifting his hammer enough?
I find the whole thing intriguing. For instance, who is that squire fellow who brings him his water and whatnot?
-
He's like a water assassin because it almost looks like he's gonna pop a cap in the Viking by pulling a gun out of his manbag. Then *bam* it's a freaking bottle of water. And he's holding it over him all impatient/sarcastic-like like a mom does with a juice box to a three-year-old. But it's upside-down as well, so does that make him absent-minded or just retarded? Or did he have a brain fart and think Viking was a hamster? And then Viking takes it all like "thx bitch" and returns it when he's had his fill, full of his mighty Viking backwash. And other dude was just hanging around all "Honey, are you done with the water yet?" In conclusion, they're gay and even though Viking is dominant in the relationship, he still bottoms because he likes it that way.
-
God bless you.
-
Indeed. I'm sad everyone wasn't dancing along with Viking. It'd be like a fucked up Thriller video.
Ooh, I missed the dude giving Viking a pamphlet. Probably wrote his number on it. Viking thinks about it a minute, folds it up and tears it. He already has a perfectly good water-squire gulping down his backwash and keeping a safe swatting distance. Why ruin a good thing?
-
What about the slobby dude who "fell" on the chick near the beginning? And then at the end he's lounging on the back of the truck. It's all so bizarre.
Fuckparade (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Techno_Viking#Techno_Viking)
-
I thought he grabbed her like "Hey, move it, sweetheart. Bad-ass gay techno viking coming through."
-
Hmm. I'll have to give it another look. But then didn't it seem like Techno was reprimanding him for it? "Hands off the ladies, greaseball!"
And then he was pointing at him menacingly.
-
I thought it was more like "Hey, brah, what's up, my man. Wait, you owe me money. I'll be coming by Jesse's house. When I get there, I best see mah money."
-
And cue the bouncing man-titties.
Germany's good for so many things.
Hey, you were born there!
-
Me and that of which I am namesake! (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beck%27s_Brewery)

The Becks October beer was very good. I was shocked, given the rest of their catalouge is mediocre.
-
hey guys, whats going on?
-
Shut the fuck up!
-
Oh, is that all?
-
Yes. That is it. You knew this when you signed on. It was the job we were asked to do. POR LATIUM!
-
hey guys, whats going on?
Marvin Gaye lyrics time!
Mother, mother
There's too many of you crying
Brother, brother, brother
There's far too many of you dying
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today - Ya
Father, father
We don't need to escalate
You see, war is not the answer
For only love can conquer hate
You know we've got to find a way
To bring some lovin' here today
Picket lines and picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me, so you can see
Oh, what's going on
What's going on
Ya, what's going on
Ah, what's going on
In the mean time
Right on, baby
Right on
Right on
Father, father, everybody thinks we're wrong
Oh, but who are they to judge us
Simply because our hair is long
Oh, you know we've got to find a way
To bring some understanding here today
Oh
Picket lines and picket signs
Don't punish me with brutality
Talk to me
So you can see
What's going on
Ya, what's going on
Tell me what's going on
I'll tell you what's going on - Uh
Right on baby
Right on baby
