I found a kitten at the side of our house a few hours ago. He (or she, I really don't know) was crying, dehydrated, and looked a bit disoriented. I brought the kitty inside because he really had no business being outside. He felt like a little fur sack full of bones. I have never felt a kitten so light in weight. I fed him and gave him water and a little milk. He was wearing a flea collar around his scrawny neck and I thought about looking around for the owner, but couldn't help thinking this person has to be a real ass to toss this tiny kitty out into the neighborhood full of mean kids, dogs, and Texas summer heat. So I took it to a shelter where he faces the likelihood of being put down in three days, which has really bummed me out but I can't think of what else I could've done for him.
Console me. :(

I stole a kitten from the crazy meth heads who used to live above my boyfriend. She was like 7 months old and was outside all the time. My boyfriend asked the 16 year old daughter once if it was her cat and she just said, "Yep!" and walked away. Anyway, the kitten was so sweet and friendly that I felt bad that she had awful owners. One of my best friends works at the Humane Society so I took the kitty there and I think it's since been adopted (they had to give her a bath because of the possible exposure to meth).
You tried your best and you did what was right because you have a good heart. :-)

That is so sad. :(

Would it make you feel better if I hurt myself.....
Or better yet you could hurt me?
-
I'll whip you and twist your nipples.
-
Go back to the shelter and adopt the kitten!
And what's this death in 3 days crap? It's a kitten! Everyone loves kittens, they're only gonna give it 3 days to be adopted and then kill it? I knew texas sucked ass, but I didn't know it sucked that much ass.

Well I thought it would be actual act of causing the pain that would cheer her up...but who knows she might like to watch too.
-
if him gunna die, did yoo ask kitteh if him buhleeve in cieling cat?
-
cieling cat saves.
-
If nothing else, you gave it a few hours of love and attention.
-
Too bad I don't live closer. I would have taken it. I never got another cat after mine died and so I have the room for another.

Dammit, I could've just poked a few holes in the box I kept him in and sent him to you UPS.
Adopting him isn't really an option. I would like to, but I don't see how it would work out. There's already three in this small house and they're already a handful. One cat bit a hole into her sister's tail! I don't know what she might do to a kitten. I also already feed two outside cats on a regular basis. So I kinda have five already. I would have just left the kitten on his own outside if I could, but he was just too young and babyish to be out by himself. Especially in this neighborhood.
Apparently San Antonio is behind on sterilizing our animals and #1 on euthanasia in Texas according to a copy of a 2003 article I dug up. Another blurb said "San Antonio kills 50,000 animals a year, more per capita than any other major city in the country". So there you go. I hear they're working to make this a no-kill city, but not anytime in the next three days. Or two now, I suppose.

Given how other packages I've got from UPS have ended up I don't think that would have been a good idea. That or they'd end up at the neighbors since it's only really important to match the first few numbers. We get their stuff all the time and they get ours. One of many reason I order online as last resort if I can't find it in stores.

As nice as a no-kill shelter sounds, it's unfortunate because they always have problems with overcrowding and underfunding. Like I mentioned, I have a friend who has worked at the local shelter for years. The other shelters in the immediate area (within an hour or so) are no-kill and always send animals to this one when they're out of room or need to put down an abandoned pet. She always bitches how one in Illinois is always like "We don't have room so we assume you'll take our pets on top of yours even though your city is bigger." It's sad but necessary because not enough peoeple want to adopt pets (my family has adopted the majority of our pets, aside from a guinea pig and two bunnies). Sad day.

Two of mine both actually came from assholes who couldn't manage to spay their cats. Tokio's mama, Oreo, was still not fixed afterwards and got pregnant again! Then they somehow "lost" her while she was still pregnant, which I don't buy because Oreo supposedly had the same attitude problem as Toki (and Toki can be very vicious if you break her boundaries, like trying to hold her). If I could have, I would've adopted Oreo and her entire litter.

Your bumpkin UPS is retarded. That never happens here. Of course now that I've said that, it'll happen with the next thing I order.

Here's a picture. They don't have a bigger one. Kitty is listed with "unknown gender" and at about five weeks old. :(

You're making me want to go down to the local shelter and adopt a kitty.
-
I'd take it if I could :(
Live kitten! Live free! Fight the system! Kill all humans! Take over the earth!
......
Nevermind the last few sentences.

Still better then Post Office. They went of spree of sending all my mail marked "No Such Address" despite the fact that it was correct. When I went down to bitch them out the guy was so dumb he thought I was bitching him out for putting my mail and my Mother's into the same box. Not only did that never happen, but I don't even know what conversation he was listening to since I don't know how he could have got that from what I was saying. I had a few confused and angry Ebay buyers because of that little incident, but it hasn't happened again.
