I meant to make a thread about this weeks ago but it's the funniest shit ever.

Wait, What’s Going on With Hilaria Baldwin?

tl;dr - Alec Baldwin's wife was pretending to be a Spanish woman named Hilaria (pronounced like "EE-LAA-ree-uh") when she's just a rich white chick named Hilary with no Spanish heritage at all. She apparently missed the memo that Spaniards have a lot of whiteness and seems to have combined US perceptions of Latin peoples along with what a fantasy Spanish person is. She even has a pretend accent. And she's been doing this for, like ten years. All of her kids have Spanish names, including one who appears to be named after her hot ex-boyfriend.

Someone online called Alec Baldwin "Pepino Baldwinito" in a random post because the family gets referred to as the Baldwinitos ('ito' at the end being a Spanish diminutive that sorta makes the name Spanish and cutesy) and Hilary pretended to not know the English word for cucumber ("pepino" in Spanish) on a television appearance. Now I just call Alec "Pepino Baldwinito" in my head and that's just gonna be my name for him from now on.

Thank you for sharing this. I really had no idea who this person was other than that her name was "Hilaria" and that she was somehow related to Alec (I wrongly assumed she was his daughter).

The truth behind it all is nothing short of amazing. What an absolute fruitcake.

And I do understand now what you mean by physical. Yeah, the last time I saw Beetlejuice, I did forget that was Pepino. I recall wondering who the actor was when I last watched it.

Yup! That's why "Abused by Alec Baldwin" is a post count tier at this board.

And you actually happen to be at that level right now, too. I was really tempted to change it to "Abused by Pepino Baldwinito" but it felt like I was messing with a piece of history. Maybe I'll rename one of the other tiers instead.

Seeing this post on my board made me randomly curious on how the Pepinitos are faring these days so I poked my head into the Hilaria subreddit and see stuff about a shooting. I'm sure this made major news but I don't watch major news so what the fuck:

I'm surprised you managed to dodge that story, it seemed like it was literally everywhere for several weeks.

Haven't heard anything new in a while, my guess is Alec will walk away from it smelling like roses.

Better than what he'd smell like after a night in the clink with his new 6-5 300lb roomie named Tiny, at any rate. Which is exactly how I'd smell if I was the one who pointed a loaded gun at someone and pulled the trigger, resulting in their death.
