Like, three-quarters of my brain is like "DIIIIIIEEEE" and the other quarter knows I'll just bring bad mojo on myself by thinking that way and tries to calm my ass down.  I'll still think he rigged it somehow.  I won't put it past him.  He's a joke with a bunch of clout and a bunch of money.  And I have no idea why the Dems went with Hillary in the first place.  She had so many problems and so much baggage.  She was polarizing even among Dems.  Despite that, nothing predicted an outcome like this.  It made no sense at all.  They should've gone with a black woman or a Latino/Latina and injected fresh blood into the party.  My first thought anyway was to impeach whoever won anyway, but apparently Mike Pence is all "rah rah, Dick Cheney" so boo to him.  GOP controls everything now.  Please, no more wars.  It sucks living in a red state.  None of my votes for president have ever counted EVER.  Why do they count the popular vote?  Who the fuck cares if it doesn't mean anything anyway?

Yeah, so anyway...

I got a ring for you.  I think it's here somewhere.  *digs around*

I know people have threatened to move north in this unlikely event, but now I have to wonder about the reality of the situation. Will there be an actual influx of American "refugees" entering Canada?

Probably not, right? Most people aren't going to uproot their entire lives over this. You guys did weather 8 years of Dubya, after all.

Although Dumps is kind of scarier somehow.

The Canadian immigration website actually crashed last night from all the traffic. :poo:

You Canucks should have built a wall already...those assholes already warned you they were coming.

Stephen Colbert: Hillary Clinton Taking Donald Dumps Election Win Strangely Well.  Because she's a corporate stooge, that's how she's taking it well.  If she were a revolutionary like Bernie, she would've waited until every last vote were counted and contest wherever she could for however long she could.  The Koch brothers probably told her to knock her shit off or they'd cancel her or Bill's next company speaking engagement.

Also... I completely forgot about this:

Hillary was the worst possible candidate the Democrats could have fielded. But they fell prey to the good ole boy politics of, "it's her turn now." Who do they think they are, Republicans?

I found it odd that she was the supposed front-runner with all the shit on her plate.  Her milquetoast VP would've made a better nominee.

Hahaha, he doesn't even want you spics here but the party thanks you for your vote.  Someone I know was all "Thank God" after Dumps won and all I could think of was "bro, you ain't even white.  If he could build that wall and throw your ass over it, he would."

You guys should have seen this coming. I mean the Cubs won the World Series. If that isn't a sign of the end times I don't know what is.

Yeah, you're right.  The Cubs were an omen.  I should've made the connection too since all bears are evil.

Liberal site Daily Kos just sent me an email asking me to sign a petition "resisting" Dumps.  I don't know what this means.  I mean, I signed other useless petitions so I'm not against doing something like that, but I need to know what you hopelessly are trying to accomplish before you get my e-hancock, you know?  Also, I forget how they have my email.  Like, the good email I use for legit shit.

That stuff is so foolish. First, these protesters need to either get a job or volunteer somewhere and get the fuck off the streets, because throwing a massive fit isn't going to change anything as the guy was unquestionably elected. Second, I hope nobody holds their breath waiting for a wall or deportation or whatever, because it ain't going to happen. Third, after all that stuff Dumps ran on falls by the wayside because he's as establishment as virtually everyone else in DC, expect Democratic landslides in 2018 and 2020.

No no, expecting a Shillton landside's what got my side in this mess.  Probably the most essential lesson to be learned here by the Dems is to throw all of those thoughts away.  As far as protesting goes, like, I support their right to do that.  Take to the streets if you must but, ah, don't block nothing because a lot of us still need to get on with life.  :raiseeyebrow:

They have the right, but not the reason. "It's all over but the crying" comes to mind. You didn't see this bullshit in 2008 or 2012.

I don't see '08 or '12 as being the same beast.  Flip it so a Republican wins those: I just can't see anyone protesting McCain or Romney.  They were never seen as the same kind of threat Tr@mp presents.  It would've been King Bush the II all over again.  "Shit, that sucks.  He won.  Oh, well, back to bed."  The Donald and his VP are simply not seen that way.  Palin saw Russia from her house and Paul Ryan was the machine Rage Against the Machine was raging against.  Meanwhile, people think Pence electrocuted gays.

That's because McCain and Romney are political oreos: Democrats look at them and say, "that what a Republican should be," because they know they'd cave to practically everything. Just look at the so-called obstructionist Congress of the past six years: virtually all budgets under Obama were passed with only the occasional amendment or rider that had benefited them. There were a lot of show-votes and Congressional hearings, but not actually a lot of obstruction against the most socialist president in recent history. And Congress was designed to be constantly gridlocked.

Anyway, I'm all for protest when there's a point or something that can be done. This is just an expression of displeasure, and while that's fine by itself I personally don't give a shit about someone's political feelings...particularly when it involves blocking traffic, looting, and allegations of astroturfing. I don't see any of it adding anything to the table except recalcitrance on both sides.

I actually thought about voting McCain in '08 because he didn't seem like a true Republican and I wasn't on the Obama love train back then.  Although it's true that Dems thought that about McCain at one time (before running for prez made him flip on some issues and before his wacko running mate), the majority do not think that about Romney.  Romney was just another rich slimeball.  I doubt anyone could think of a single political stance of his.  Honestly, it even took me a while to recall he had run for president because he was so forgettable.

In your opinion, who does represent what a Republican should be?  I mean, it certainly can't be Oompa Loompa Bird Hair.  Weren't you supporting someone else during the primaries?  Like Ted Cruz or someone like that?

Yeah. I still don't think much of Dumps, particularly if he fills his appointments with another round of neocons.
