I was never an X-Files fan because it wasn't my thing, but that said, if one my favorite series returned, I would prefer a limited run. They can always choose to do a second group of episodes if the reception is good and you won't have the heartbreak that comes with a series return getting canceled for some stupid reason. Also, it gives them a platform to tell a nice, contained story.

Six episodes allows about three movies' worth of storyline and is much cheaper and therefore repeatable if the response is positive.

That said, aside from the novelty of returning to an old property, this holds zero interest for me.

I was cuckoo for X-Files back in high school. Then Mulder left and I was like fuck this shit. The first movie was okay, the second was like a two-part B-episode. You finish watching it and you wonder why they even bothered.
