Hey, resurrecting this thread just in time for Throwback Thursday. My Slacker Coffeehouse keeps playing a lot of Winehouse stuff and the more I find out about Winehouse, the more I feel bad about my general apathy to her death. (I don't think it helps that I'm going through an emotional time right now either.) Not like I'm filled with regret about it or anything, but kinda like that cringey-twingeyness you'd get after you kick a really ugly puppy. I saw a picture of her performing before the fame and you could actually see a spark of happiness in her. Like she was doing something she truly loved. Once she became famous, it's all dead and she's this hollow, strung-out shell.
I was never a big fan of the song "Rehab." My first exposure to it was through the music video. I remember thinking, "Shit, this bitch
needs rehab." I like to sing it jokingly, but it has taken on that tone similar to "Stuck in the Middle with You" now being associated with creepy ear cutting. I do like a couple of her songs now all these years later (I never did before), but then I made the mistake of looking for her performing them. It's painful. I don't know how people could watch her sing. I would've walked out and demanded a refund. She looks slammed in nearly everything I found. It was inevitable that she was going to Darwinize herself and shame on everybody around her because they all enabled this shit.
Also... Zsa Zsa's still going. But this could be her year.
Zsa Zsa Gabor was rushed to the ER Monday ... 2 days after her 99th birthday, TMZ has learned.
Gabor was having difficulty breathing ... husband Frederic von Anhalt tells us.
Zsa Zsa's doctor came to her home and removed mucus from her throat, but it didn't cure the problem. Zsa Zsa was admitted to an L.A. hospital Monday morning.
Docs determined she has a feeding tube-related lung infection.
We're told Zsa Zsa's scheduled to undergo surgery to have her breathing tube removed.
Gabor has made frequent trips to the hospital over the last decade. Her right leg was amputated in 2011.
She hasn't been seen in public for years.
Good lord...
