Poor Things. Wonderful film. Surprised how much fucking there was. Probably the most fucking I've seen in a non-pornographic movie.

The Iron Claw. Another excellent flick. Super depressing, though. Like, God damn.

That whole story was legendary for its tragedy.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

If Fritz had slipped in the tub and cracked his neck in the early eighties all of those guys would have likely been good but small-time wrestlers who wound up getting real jobs by the time they were 30, and all of them would likely still be living.

I watched Wish. Not great. A couple of the songs were a little catchy. The backgrounds/environments were all very flat/drab/dreary.

I don't think it's as insufferable as everyone says on its own, but when you factor in that it's supposed to be this grand centennial celebration of Disney's theatrical animated features... yeah. Kind of a dud.

Have you seen the concept art? The anthro star-man and the villain powet couple were such missed opportunities.

Wow. I hadn't heard about that, but having seen it now, it makes so much more sense how hollow the movie feels. What the fuck.

I watched American Fiction. It was really good, not sure what else to say about it. The trailer had me worried it might lean a little too hard into schmaltz territory, but that wasn't the case at all. I laughed a bunch, got choked up a time or two. I'm fairly confident it's a movie most people would enjoy.

I really wanted to see American Fiction, but it is only playing one day here...and that's today...while I'm at work. So I won't get to see it. But the preview for that one looked like a winner.

I did see DUNE Part 2. I was super happy with Part 1, but as a fan of the book they did a few changes to the end of part 2 that I don't think make sense or I like.

Villeneuve's Dune movies are weird. They're really well made. Great performances. I was never bored. And yet, I'm not over the moon about them.

I hope he gets to make another one. I guess that's my endorsement?

But can you sleep to them like the Dune audiobook?

I originally came to Dune by way of Lynch's film, so when I tried reading the novel, I'll admit to finding it rather dry. :P

Well, OK. I mean it’s my favorite book of all time but I guess you can sleep to it. But I tend to sleep to the Harry Potter books.

Look, a great sleepin' book is more than the content. It can't be a shitty book and it can't have a terrible audio book presentation either. One of my favorite books is Pride and Prejudice and I've only found a couple of versions that don't ruin it by shrieking Mrs. Bennett's lines. Kenneth Branaugh's reading of Death on the Nile was also a great sleeping book. I hated it when I had to turn that one in.

I'm so pathetically desperate for this to be amazing, but probably the most I can realistically hope for is that it's not awful.

Oh, God, I'm already cringing 12 seconds in. As pretty as slowed-down covers can sound, I'm over their use in movie and show trailers.

And why does Astrid Deetz look so boringly normal? Nobody wants that shit. She needed to be either gothy, punk, super fashionable or super girly. At least make her look like Wednesday, you lazy fucks. She's wearing shit off the rack from fucking Marshalls. She just looks like a normal kid. Boo! Beetlejuice was fun for the weirdos. No one wanted normies. That's why the stupid normies die at the beginning of the first movie.

Also, I think Lydia's progeny should've been a boy. A girl character threatens to repeat Lydia's role from the first movie where a boy would've been a fresher perspective.
