I didn't quite understand what I quoted back then...

The writer indicated that Japanese comics are called "manga" and Japanese cartoons are called "anime," but the way it was written seemed a bit weird.

One might make the inference that anime refers to animal pr0n rather than animation.

Maybe it seems weird because it looks like anime includes both comics and animation.
