Think it'll become more clusterfucky with Supergirl switching over to the CW?

Can't be MORE clusterfucky then it already is. I don't get some things because I don't watch Arrow and you pretty much gotta watch everything.

That being said, Supergirl should have always been on CW.

If Flash and Arrow are any indication, while they occasionally reference and appear in each other's shows and have the very occasional crossover, they don't tend to bleed over that much. I liked the Flash appearance on Supergirl, which was the only episode of that I saw.

So like last nights Flash a bad buy showed up with a sonic scream....now I first thought of Black Canary. But then Canary isn't a bad guy so I figured this is Earth 2 Canary. Which it was. And I knew this not because the show told me, but because I knew about comics.

But they built up this big reveal and not showing her face and all that jazz and then big reveal and I'm like "Ok....who the fuck is this?" It was clearly suppose to be important. The music told me so, but it didn't mean shit to me. It wasn't until the end of the episode that they explain that this is a bad version of the Black Canary from Arrow...which I didn't know because I don't watch Arrow. And while that doesn't happen ever episode, it happens enough to get a little annoying.

You should watch Arrow. It's not a bad show. Anyway, Damien Dark (one of the better bad guys they've come up with, mainly due to the guy who plays him) killed Canary a few episodes back, and now Arrow's aiming (snrt) to kill him outright. It has been known the entire season that Dark kills one of the cast, but the big question was who, and it was actually surprising that it was her given the close connection Black Canary has always had with the Green Arrow. I figured it'd be Diggle myself, but they've just wrinkled him by having him outright kill his brother.

Diggle....you mean Black Magneto?

And it happened again on Legends of Tomorrow. No idea what is going on because I don't watch Arrow.  But JSA...so there is that.

Instead of calling Diggle Sentinel in the field they should teach him to shoot a bow and call him Black Arrow. As it is now he should be Black Bullet or Black Glock both to keep the naming motif as well as follow the old stereotype of black superheros being called Black Whatever. Or just call him token, because this show is decidedly monochromatic otherwise.

Where Legends is concerned...it's the bastard child of the other two shows that relies heavily on their cast-offs. It's goint to have it. At least it had the best season conclusion of the three by a mile.

I get a certain pleasure from watching House Hunters episodes where the whiny person--usually the wife--who wants all this shit they can't afford doesn't get what they want.  On ep has this woman freaking over seashell-shaped sinks.  Yeah, the show's all fake so I'm sure they told her to throw a tantrum.  It's so silly.  I also get a certain annoyance when it's clear a bunch of these people have too many possessions.  "But we need a garage for storage."  And you knew he was talking about storing crap.

Oh, man, this one woman was bitching about the colors and her husband was rolling his eyes.  The realtor's all "well, maybe we can get a paint allowance."  Although on the flipside, I don't get why you wouldn't paint all the walls white when you put the house on the market.  Then again, most of the houses aren't on the market.  They just show a friend's house so the homeowners can have a House #2 that they need to eliminate later.

It would be different if it weren't staged. But on television absolutely everything is staged. Watching that kind of show is like watching internet clickbait ads.

Yeah, I mainly watch these types of shows now to indulge my voyeurism.  Looking at other people's homes is fun.  It makes me sad to think of the old HGTV though: when Design on a Dime was about stretching $500 to do an entire room.  Now the "dime" is usually around or above $2k.  And that's not even adding the drama that most of these shows indulge in.  Love or List It would be an awesome show if it were half an hour with commercials.  Half of that show is meltdowns and that's just painful to sit through.  One show--I forget the title--was about people flipping properties and they actually showed them getting a massage.  I sat through that shit so I could see the finished property and the reno completely fell through!  They lost the property and nothing got done.  Fffffffffffffffffffffffuuuuuu....

Everything is over-dramatized these days. It's like, I wouldn't mind watching a show about random shit they keep in pawn shops. I love pawn shops: they're like flea markets filled with broken dreams. So what we get is a couple fat guys bickering and a dude who calls local "experts" to help him whittle down on somebody who thinks they're sitting on a fortune.

Exactly.  I like shows that straight up do what they're supposed to be doing, but that's not in vogue anymore.  Everything has to be a production with a villain and the ever-suffering protag(s).  What's the point of something like Storage Wars where they just plant shit inside the storage units?  I want my home shows to be like "This Old House."  No melt downs.  No whining.  They're just fixing an old house and telling you what's going on and what materials they're using and why.  Sometimes they inject a little history or whatever.

Holmes on Homes use to be like that....but then it became all about what a scum bag the guy who did the work before was and how many tears can we jerk out by using false sentiment.

I find the majority of home design I see on television to be totally unrealistic for normal Americans. You'll be watching something that looks like something someone might actually build and then, bam, here comes the weird stuff. "Oh, here's a room that's nothing but windows." That's really practical. Not. "You need to have a tiki hearth in your living room." What the CHOP?

Now that you say that, you're right.  I don't get to see that show a whole lot, but last few times I saw it, they definitely spent too much time harping on about the previous work.  Still not as bad as some of these other shows though.  The two parter they had once really chafed me because they were rerunning the previous few hours but stopped short of showing the second part.  Like, I'm only in it to see the finished product, dammit.

What gets to me is impeding function.  You can have your tiki torches or whatever but if the "customer"/victim/whoever says they use this room to watch TV in and then the TV is mounted to the wall on the side and the furniture turned to face each other to stimulate conversation, you've failed.  Or "I need a guest room/office."  A reasonable person would assume that means the room should have a bed and desk in it.  "Well, here's a fabulous Murphy bed/pull-out couch.  We put the desk in the closet so now you have an office in a closet that can be tucked away."  No.  Save that shit for teeny-tiny spaces.  Don't give them extra work.  I saw this bedroom makeover and the final product was nice, but I was concerned that three dressers left the room and only one came back.  Where'd their stuff go?  It's not a successful design if it just looks nice and does not function for the person living in the space.

I don't know why I thought they flipped haunted houses or something. In the ep I saw the guy painted the house the wrong color on purpose and it was so obvious they just wanted to manufacture drama. I was done with the show after they pulled that shit. I also saw some of Texas Flip and Move and of course they got the biggest hicks they could. What a waste of time. For the money they spend they could just build a new house entirely. At least a show like Flip or Flop only pulls you in for thirty minutes. Those other two flip shows run at a hour. Yuck.

I've also been watching The First 48. Tip #2846 on not dying a horrible, violent death: don't associate with horrible, violent people. Don't associate with criminals. So much death because folks can't choose better friends and won't cut off family that needed to be cut off. These girls that have scumbag boyfriends that murder them later. Jesus.

I like to look up the cases online to see what I can find. This one victim had two other shooting deaths in the family in the year or so subsequent to his own death. And one of his relatives was talking about it like God was doing something to this family. Your relatives were innocent victims all three incidents? Really?  ::)

I got into GOT....or rather Game of Thrones. I actually didn't want to watch this show. It was just another in a line of "Everyone is watching it, so what is wrong with you?"type shows. Like True Blood or Walking Dead. I had given both of those shows a chance and didn't like either, so I thought GOT would be no different. A coworker kept telling me it was good while I literally holding Season 1 in my hands. I was hooked by the 2nd episode and have been powering through it ever since. I'm half way through Season 3 right now and I actually have season 4 on the way.

Have you read any of the books yet?  I'm still indifferent towards the show.  Don't feel like it's really offering me anything new so I'm not going to bother aside from the clips I've already seen.  But I'm still open to maybe picking up the books someday.

No. Not yet. But I learned a long time ago that I should see the movie/show first and then read the book. Because the book is almost always better and will just make me not like the movie/show if I read them first. But the opposite is rarely true.

But I would think it would sorta cloud how you read the book.  I think I'd rather enjoy a superior book and then watch the adaptation to pick it apart like a vulture does a dead deer.

I tried watching this Tig Notaro thing on Netflix because she's supposedly funny.  It felt like a documentary instead of a stand-up special, the latter--you know--which is what I assume a stand-up comic would put out.  I hate those.  I hate when I click on a special from a stand-up comedian and they're not on stage within a minute doing their set.  Why the fuck do you think I'm watching you?  You think I care about you that much?  I want jokes, dammit.

Oh, yeah, did anyone see that pic of Superman going around?  The one where he's a werewolf.  Yuck.

At least add some fake muscles to his arms and chest.  He looks weird!  The picture's also not at a good angle.  And lens flare.  Woo.

I hate the modern Superman suits. For one it requires red underwear on the outside of the tights to be authentic. For another they all have this weird-ass scale and seams on them to hide the fact that a spandex-clad superhuman doesn't actually look superhuman (or "superyuman" per Stan Lee). But that's a part of the willful suspension of disbelief. Throwing all that shit in there makes it stand out all the more.
