It's exactly that.  I've sat through three full eps already.  I really want to like it.  The animation and color palette are delightful and the initial concept has so much potential so its a damn shame that the stories are flat and the characters are shallow.  The humor is just non-existent.  Star's and Marco's voices are obnoxious.  Especially Star's.  The writers or whoever clearly don't understand what a straight man is.  Marco's the obvious straight man but he fluctuates between being serious, frustrated and/or confused by Star to being just as goofy as she is.  All within the same episode.

Did you ever watch Wander over Yonder? I couldn't get into that one either, and Penn Zero: Part-Time Hero seems to be aimed squarely at the pre-teen set.

But Gravity Falls? God damn do I love me some Gravity Falls.

Wander over Yonder grows on you. It's a real WTF at first, but I like it.

But Gravity Falls is the bomb. It felt like a funny animated X-Files.

I'm not a fan of Gravity Falls, however, that's due to it not being a show for me and not on any perceived failings on part of the show.  If its coming out, I can certainly sit and watch it without any need to bitch about it.  If I've seen Wander Over Yonder, then I didn't realize what I was watching because I have no recollection of what that is.  Penn Zero was blah but if I had kids, there's worse things I could be stuck watching with them.

Omg, I'm watching the Amy Schumer 12 Angry Men parody.  I can picture people watching this being so fucking confused and changing the channel but I'm dying.  This is brilliant.

Does her show often have that many cameos, or was this a special occasion?

I haven't watched any of the current season, but the previous one was pretty good. Adventure Time has always had its detractors, but it's been around long enough now that there are even lapsed fans who claim the show has lost its way.

I feel like this probably happens to just about every series that enjoys massive popularity.

I'm not really a "fan fan" but I watch it when its on...although they repeat the same darn episodes over and over... I definitely prefer it over the other ones mentioned here (Gravity Falls, WoY, can't forget steven universe). Actually I rather not watch any of these but unfortunately my kids like them :-/

Just watched a tribute to George Coe, the voice actor for Woodhouse in Archer who died this week. Wonder if that means that Woodhouse will be dead in the show, or if they'll concoct some reason for a vocal change.

I don't know.  I haven't seen enough eps.  Another episode had Tina Fey, Patricia Arquette, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the same skit together.  And Amber Rose appeared in a different skit.  So maybe so.

ugh....I hate Adventure Time.

Why do you hate it?  It looks cute but it just never compelled me to really bother with it.  When Regular Show appeared on Netflix, I binged on every episode they had.  With Adventure Time, I've only seen half of what Netflix has and I wasn't paying attention most of the time.  Speaking of Regular Show, it needs to stop this relationship crap with Mordecai.  It's just an unfunny mess at this point.

There is a point where the asinine nature of a show goes beyond the limits of funny to "This shit is stupid." and Adventure Time passed that almost instantly. They got a new show coming up called Pig, Goat, Cricket and goat....or some bullshit like that that has also already reached that with me as well just from the previews

I tried to marathon We Bare Bears and collected about six eps but in the end I just couldn't.  After two and a half episodes--most of it fast forwarded--I deleted it all in disgust.  It just feels pointless and I'm confused about why that bothers me.  Also, why do the bears travel in a stack?  Is that shit ever explained?

Rama, got another one for you, called Pickle and Peanut. Looks like someone at Disney watched all of Cartoon Network's most popular shows and said, "Hey, we can do that!"

Only no, no they cannot.

Disney honestly has a history of these cynical "me-too" programs. Does anyone remember The Shnookums and Meat Funny Cartoon Show? Came out during the popularity of Ren & Stimpy. So blatant. Even as a young person I remember being incredulous.

That's neat.  Well, not for me since I'm a cord-cutter anyway, but kids should get to see the old shows.  I wonder how many of them are still watchable today.  I recall trying to watch an ep of Rocko some time ago and I couldn't sit through it.  I have a feeling they may not have aged as well as I initially assumed.  But it's still dumb for any network--Nick, CN, Disney--to have huge libraries of cartoons and not do anything with them.  So I'm glad for this at least for that reason.

I've been watching The Looney Tunes Show and my final verdict--over a year after it was cancelled, no less--is that it was very hit or miss.  When it missed, it was a very dull thing to sit through but when it hit it could be really funny.  It was cool that there was actually continuity, too.  Lola and Daffy actually make a decent comedy duo.  Scampish Bugs is best Bugs and I think the show was a little too fond of Straight Man Bugs.  While I'm a bit bummed it was canceled for Wabbit, I don't think The Looney Tunes Show was ever going to reach its full potential anyway.  I hope Tina Russo doesn't completely disappear after this but I won't be surprised if she does.

If you're wondering about whether a cartoon has aged well and you find it hasn't, it may be because you've aged, period. I mean, it's hard for me to sit through an episode of Masters of the Universe, but my niece loved it when I showed it to her four years ago. But she'd probably have a hard time watching it now, too.

My problem with the newer Looney Tunes stuff (seriously, I liked Merrie Melodies shorts better on the whole), not just the Show but everything in the past twenty or thirty years, is that they really don't know what to do with the characters. They're always archetypes: Bugs is the snarky lead; Daffy is the foil/fool. Porky is the second fiddle relief. In the old shows, they were really whatever the hell they needed to be. In a lot of cases, you could plug most any character in that script, which has its own pitfalls but you also don't pigeonhole your cast to a type. And there was a sophistication that only the better modern cartoons have (which is due to the largely adult audience they played to, but still).
