Movies that will define 2009
« on: Jan 06, 2009, 12:31:50 PM »
AKA: Look at all the cool shit coming out and G.I.Joe.

Although some of these movies came out in 2008 like The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.

There's this one:  http://www.totalfilm.com/features/the-49-films-that-will-define-2009

How can 49 films define the year?  That's overkill, like four films per month.  Ridiculous.

Yeah there was....and that was it. So thanks for that.

And one of those films is Tr2n, which isn't even suppose to be out till 2011. How can a movie from 2 years in the future define 2009?

Well it's a sequel to Tron...so maybe we will all be whisked back to the 80s? Yeah, I doubt it too.

I was thinking it would just go back to 2009 in 2011.

Well that's kinda boring. Why can't we jump ahead from 2009 to 2011 instead. Then I can look up the lotto numbers before the return trip.

Watchmen I think. Maybe that Wolverine movie.

I don't want it to be easy, I want it to be right.

Yeah but who knows if Watchmen is even coming out in 09 now. Fox and WB are duking it out over the flick and it's already been pushed back once. Fox is vowing to hold up the movie until the dispute is settled and WB is refusing to cave in. So that one is at an impasse at the moment.

Well way back Fox bought the rights to make Watchmen as a movie, but they have pretty much been sitting on the project ever since. So WB comes along and makes a deal with DC to make Watchmen and Fox doesn't saying anything so they go ahead with it. Then after the movie is in the can, Fox suddenly starts yelling and screaming about having the rights. Pretty sure Fox waited till they were done cause they knew that they'd be more likely to get a cut of the profits without doing any work this way, where as had they brought it up before the film went into Production WB would have just scrapped it and Fox wouldn't have seen a dime.

The people at WB can't be that stupid.  There must be more really technical murky legal shit elements to this story.

If it comes to light that fox really did something shady like that I will boycott wolverine.

I'd be willing to burn Fox down with flaming diarrhea if they delay this movie.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

Why do most of those look like shit. Notorious? Who gives a crap about a dead rapper? Dragonball? Please kill me now!

The lesbian vampire movie looks interesting but I doubt it will have boob shots let alone full frontal or lesbian orgies so probably a serious letdown.

Star Trek, Transformers (maybe, it's Bay after all), Harry Potter (ABOUT FUCKING TIME), G.I.Joe (if it doesn't become another Street Fighter), those are worth it. And if Watchmen doesn't come out on time, Shwigg can provide the matches, I'll provide the diarrhea.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.

Two weeks in a row at number 1. Beat that, Wolverine.

I gave up on that movie when they started using Bon Jovi music for their TV trailers. Living on A Prayer is NOT appropriate music for a comedy. After that, I knew the movie was doomed to failure.

That movie still looks like a piece of shit.  I'm not watching that.  Anyone see the trailers for Dragonball and the Legend of Chun-Li movie?  Dragonball one is total crap.  Chun-Li looks mildly less crappy, but not by a hell of a lot.

I didn't realize they were making a Tekken movie.  I'm kinda interested in seeing that.  The trailer better sell it to me.

I saw the Chung Li trailer and didn't look like they were improving on the Van Damme version that much to be honest.

Speaking of Paul Blart, all the rent-a-cops in my local mall roll around on Segways. Seriously.

Also.

Holy cow, I saw a clip of Chun-Li on that crappy morning show with Mike and Juliet and I take it back.  I take it all back.  What a piece of shit!  It was Smallville Chun-Li versus this gimpy M. Bison (he comes out in Desperate Housewives, the fuck!?) and it was a fight that makes cheesy brawls in Buffy the Vampire Slayer look choreographed by fucking Yuen Woo Ping.  Why the fuck does Bison have a stick?  A fucking stick?  That blows.

Not 2009 but everyone knows Cowboy Bebop is being made with Keanu as Spike, right?  :joe:

WB's thinly-disguised ploy to milk HP like a tied-up gay guy with a needy prostate has rather dimmed my enthusiasm for the final movies.  Maybe they'll skiv 6 into two films like they did 7 and blame it on AIG.

Ha, oh yeah.  Gross.

The milking of HP is nonsense, too.  People are gonna be less and less excited for it.  When do we get the last one, 2011?  I'm betting the number of people who go see it will be diminished.  Not the older fans, but the more impressionable fans that latch onto the next big thing.  All you need are for the other studios to crank out monster hits and completely eclipse Harry Potter.  Everyone knows the books got crappier, they'll just go download the movie somewhere after it comes out.
