Nuri, when ya shave him bald, can I watch?
I said its hot outside let me go swimming in your eyes;
We been running for awhile. Why don't you lay dow, I'll make you smile.
I could never ask for nothing better than this;
It's just tequila and the beach, it's quite salty when we kiss.

Nuri, I have an ancient razor that uses double-edge blades and weighs about 5 pounds.  You can hold it by the end of the handle and swing it like a pendulum until you reach bare skull. :samurai:

Why would I shave him?  Unless you mean scalp him, but I would need some buffalo and wagon present to make the reenactment complete.

The thing about seeing the death of the dog as entertainment is misguided in my opinion...it's not meant to entertain, it's meant to make you hate those responsible for it and invest your emotions into the story.  Cheap, maybe, but to discount a movie because of this is just going too far.  It's not done because it's entertaining, it's done because it's bad and hurts your inner 4 year-old's feelings and makes you pull for Will Smith to kill every zombie in creation.

But to each his or her own.  I don't watch movies for various reasons...mainly excessive gore and violence, Pauly Shore, meaningless sex scenes, Divine, etc.
Political Correctness is a doctrine, fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

I could say I like fucking dead chinchilla's and someone could say back "To each his own" and it would be the same deal.

Well, silly silly me for assuming that a reply to a quote in a thread was related to the context of the poster I quoted.  Boy howdy, you sure learned me a thing or two.  ::)

Seriously - Good Lord!  You're obsessing more about people seeing this movie than my tweenie goddaughter does about Zac Whatistoes from High School Musical! I HAVE to have a job...we HAD to sent the IRS $3416 this year (self-perpetuating cycle there....)....I DON'T have to see this movie!  I'm.not.interested.  The reason is not important to anyone except marketing personnel for the studio - if you are such, let me know and I will be happy to participate in the survey.  If it changed your life or you've got a mad mancrush on Will Smith, I'm happy for you!  Knock yourself out!  Write male Mary Sue fanfiction about how you comforted Neville after Sam died to your heart's content - fanfiction.net is awaiting you with open arms!

It was made clear several posts ago I'm not obsessing about people seeing this particular movie.  I'm calling anyone and everyone a bleeding vagina who would skip an otherwise great movie (again not this movie cause it really wasn't that great) solely because a fictional animal death is portrayed.

And "to each his own" is not about "getting it".  It's like the opposite of getting it. It's a copout says I.  No "to each his own"s from me. Vaginas! The lot you!

Also at this point I want to know where you rank human life in terms of importance.  So this question is for Bernie:

Would you let nuri die if it meant saving your dog's life?

Well, you'll have to refresh me - do I holler, "I'm rubber, you're glue...." now, or after I put my thumbs in my ears, waggle my fingers and stick my tongue out?

What was once an interesting debate has turned into one of the reasons I never wanted kids.  Coffee break time. :handball:

Smarmy remarks instead of answering the question at hand?

I mean if your answer is "I just don't like it" and "to each his own" = "getting it", then we were never really debating anything now were we?

Well played?

And regardless of whether you think I'm behaving like a child or if you being older makes you right, this is still an interesting debate (to me anyway) :)

Only now its shifted away from movies and is about how many (if any) innocent people you would let die to save your precious dogs and whether if you know them personally or not makes a difference.

Nuri, I'm sure you won't take offense if I don't even bother to dignify this with a reply.

debate - Webster's Ninth New Collegiate Dictionary, def. 2a: to contend in words syn: see discuss

And it is amusing that you consider "vaginas" an insult.  You do realize that a number of people who post here are, in fact, female, right? Ever consider using "dicks" to give the guys some equal representation?

Prozac, Zoloft, drum circle therapy, biofeedback, kava kava drops - so many options....tune in and release the resentment....  Kidding aside, people aren't that stupid.  Misogynist attitudes are very easy to pick up on, and they may cost you some jobs.  Lots of women make casting decisions.

Nuri said it best - don't know why you're trying to start shit, but whatever.  How you've made the logic leap from "I don't want to see this movie" to this is anyone's guess, but if there's something going on in your life that this is an anger outlet for, my sympathies.

Yeah, just like a reply I made to Doug made him jump back at me with "what movie do you think is great".  I wasn't even talking to his ass anymore.  I had given up when he decided he was the dictionary.

Quote
Vaginas! The lot you!

And that's exactly why I didn't answer the question.  And personally, I don't think it improves things when half the time I loathe being female and am likely oversensitive to the word "vagina" as an insult.

Quote
interesting debate

I've noticed, for a long time now since it's always been a peeve of mine, that every other irritating person on the internet calls these sorts of back and forths "debates".  No one wanted to be in your silly imaginary debate, we were stating opinions.  We weren't looking to persuade you or argue with you until you took to twisting our words around and insulting us.

Quote
then we were never really debating anything now were we?

NO, WE WEREN'T, FUCKER!!!#JR%H43iqghtl5trhntr;ju;tykuk :joe:

Sadly, looking back over some of his posts, he makes some good points but then proceeds to bury them in a mile-high pile of sexism and bullshit where you can barely find them.  Then he wonders why Bernie and I keep trying to take our kickball and go home.

I didn't call this a "debate".  Bernie did and she said it was interesting and I agreed.  And I quoted the dictionary, just like Bernie just did, so I guess this is/was a debate after all, even if it wasn't much of one IMO.

As for using "dick" instead of vagina as insult. Aren't I giving vagina some well deserved equal time?  I mean dick has been an insult for years.

p.s. I'm neither angry nor a misogynist...well not a typical misogynist.  I mean calling people a vag doesn't a misogynist make.  I'm just curious about what different people's views are on the value of human life.  I don't see how you can't see the short leap to that from the movies considering many people already posted about how fictional human deaths don't affect them but animals do.  It's really not coming out of left field to ask about the non fictional.  I don't see how asking that question is "starting shit".

If I'm really upsetting you guys though we can just stop talking about it.  I'm not emotionally invested in this argument.  And I don't want you to be either.

My bad for using "debate" as a synonym for "discuss, bullshit, chew the fat", etc. as detailed in the dictionary meaning. It's constantly used in that connotation in the office (and the large conference room is called the "War Room" ::) )

I'm not taking the discusssion any further because a blind monkey slamming Jack & Cokes and playing braille canasta could see that particular Catch-22 from across the street.  I get plenty of similar scenarios when I have to take my two classroom hours of Ethics every year to maintain my agent's license, and the whole point of any of them is that every choice has a consequence.  Nothing is black and white. One of the groups Eddie & I actively support is Texas Hearing & Rescue Dogs, which rescues shelter dogs and trains them to help the disabled.  I'm sure all kinds of points can be made for who benefits more from it, the humans or animals involved.

IDE, if you're not a mysoginist, typical or otherwise, that's great to hear. I wasn't being a smartass with that word of caution - if you can give that impression online, you could possibly do so IRL as well.  Not saying that you do because I have no way of knowing, but if so, it could definitely affect audition decisions.  There's a lot of competition out there - no sense in making it more difficult.

Now I really will have to take my kickball and go home (love that! ).  Saturday is Eddie's birthday, and we're both leaving at noon for a nice long weekend, so I have to get everything situated here.  ;D

so much for Encino Man. Best Pauly Shore movie out there, even with his horrible acting skills.
I like to go down to the playground and watch the kids run and jump and scream, because they don't know I'm only using blanks.

Modern anime is a stagnant cesspool of regurgitated ideas.
