This delivery job is pissing me off, and it's more because of the management of the job being fucking shitty than the job itself being shitty.
First off, we have the Sunday before Christmas, which I had requested off in advanced. Some of my family would be out of town on Christmas so we planned to have dinner that night. I got the day off which is a miracle considering this company rarely gives me time off.
Sure as death itself, they call me up at 7pm and tell me to show up for work. I had already had the dinner and presents but I told them I was busy, so they had me come in at 8:30. Mad now.
Come last Wed, I was asked to come in to work 2 hours early when I was busy working on other things. I showed up an hour early, only to have to stay 2 hours after closing. For some reason, I think because we hired some Hispanic driver who knows little English, half the night we were so backed up we had orders an hour and a half late. And everyone blamed ME even though they were late when I left the store. The reason I left at 2am rather than 12 when we closed was because, when I got back around 12, I had to take an order that was 1:30 hours late and at the edge of our area. I came back and had to take another order at the other edge that was 2:30 hours late... and me and the new guy were the ONLY drivers there all night!!! Where was everyone else?
Back when I went to the convention I had asked for 3 days off about 3 weeks ahead of time, and even posted a note next to the schedule. And of course I didn't get any of the days off, and had to beg just to get Saturday off.
Drivers quit or are fired left and right from this job and I wonder WHY.
And now they're calling me 3 hours before my shift, and I just turned my damn cell phone off. Fuck them. Fuck them up the ass.
