Maybe Will just sensed that Larry Watchowski would go nutty within the next three years (snip, slice, mason jar) and chose to work with Salma Hayek instead of Skeletor...err...Carrie Ann Moss.

I think Will Smith would have been a horrible Neo.

At least he has more emotion than Keanu though.  <_<

Better to be a mindless drone than trying to act "hip."
10,000 steps down, round and round. One night on the town and I'm hellbound ... Black oceans beneath, come and swallow me. My little tower, seal my fate. Help me pay back, end their hate. Black oceans beneath, come and swallow me

I wonder what the Matrix rap would've been like.  I know it would've had a bunch of dancers dressed in black and dancing in bullet time.... but oh, so unfullfilled.

 Or what old song it would have sampled & recycled.

Keanu has to be the luckiest bad actor in the business.

What the fuck does this have to do with food?

I watched 'Monster' today.  Goddamn they made Cherlize ugly.  I still think Cristinna Ricci's fucking hot, even if she is a dumbass.

Good question.  So, who looks better: Real-life Aileen vs Aileen Theron.

I've wondered myself.  It'd probably have keen lines like:

Yo'! It Neo, he a prophet!
In da future!  Spacely Sprocket!
Da machines is after him faster dan a atomic rocket!
Gonna dis Agent Smith like a beaver to Davey Crocket!

Man that would have been 'dope'...

Matrix would've ended up a comedy, that's for sure.  Even when Will's being serious, I keep wanting to laugh at him.

I haven't seen Monster yet.

Keanu was in the movie version of Much Ado about Nothing, too, as Don Claudio I think. He played the "standing there like a dumbass" part well, but on the parts where he was supposed to be pissed off, he was kind of dull. Still, I'd rather have him than Will Smith for the part.

"WELCOME TO EARTH!" *smacks Smith*

And then it's again the White Man as the evil, with the black man being good.

*pokes Manchurian Canidate, plus all the frickin shows where the criminals are always white to not offend minorities*

Will Smith got raves for Six Degrees of Separation with Stockard Channing and it has to be one of his most poorly acted films IMO.  He could've even kiss another guy when the script required it.  A damn peck on the lips...

If it's anything like Six Degrees, it wouldn't be worth watching.  For Will Smith anyway....

Or what old song it would have sampled & recycled.

When has Smith ever made anything ORIGINAL?

Well, after his "Fresh Prince" days, anyway.

Fresh Prince in itself is based on a real person and family...

though that show did kick ass on all levels.
