I think my car was broken into.
This morning I noticed a bag of mine was missing. Last time I saw it was on campus so I drove over, backtracked all my steps, and finally filed a missing item report with campus police.
Then when I got home again, a neighbor was just leaving and he mentioned that his truck had been broken into and he was missing some of his CDs. And the pieces connected.
Last night I had been moving stuff out of my car and into the house and had left the doors unlocked. While I was in my house I heard some commotion out my window but didn't see anything. When I returned to my car I didn't notice anything wrong with it. But according to my neighbor he saw some black kids checking out one of the cars in an ajacent lot.
The city police didn't want to file a report of a missing or stolen item after I told them I had reported it missing at the campus, gave me some bullshit excuse about not being able to file missing item reports in two juris-dick-tions, even thought it could have been missing in either one.
I don't care for the bag, but what was in it. A large-capacity flash drive was in it, with a bunch of irreplaceable files. So was a resume with my address and full name and phone number. Hello identity theft.
The neighborhood I live in is surrounded by apartments with college students, and greek houses, and most of them are upper class white kids. But I see the occasional begger or black gangsta walking around. The southern areas of this town have the worst ghetto of the entire county, the most crime-ridden areas, 90% black, and most of the people in jail are from those neighborhoods. And I'm about a mile from those neighborhoods. I bet you anything it was some wannabe-gangsta black guys under 30 who idolize rappers and think it's ok to steal to support their weed habit. Fucking hoods. Fucking rappers. Fucking black society doing nothing to stop their eventual downfall into savageness.
