Tropical Paradise of Hard Shelled Fruits / MST3K Coming Back.

Joel Hodgson the creator of Mystery Science Theater 3000 has started a kickstarter to bring the show back.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/mst3k/bringbackmst3k

I put in my money (now that I actually have money to put in.) but that was before he announced the new cast. I don't mind Jonah Rey who I know from Nerdist podcast and At Midnight, but Felica Day and Patton Oswald? Was expecting something a little more low key and less fan boyish then that...and not even to Mistie Fanboys, but just internet ones in general. Also a lot of the old cast has come out and said they won't be part of this. So it is starting to feel like a Guns and Roses reunion tour and only Axel is there.

Although this is a late guilt induced Birthday thread...I still hope you had a good one. And remember...you didn't get a thread because BECK "doesn't care about white people."

There was suppose to be a new Simon Says here called "What's your sign say?" that had to do with a Leo birth date, but I talked to the artist and it wasn't done yet...so I have nothing cool to put here this year. But Happy Birthday anyway.

That's right....Top Gun is getting the 3D treatment. Now we can see Maverick repressing his gay love for Goose on the big screen and it'll be coming right at us!

Tropical Paradise of Hard Shelled Fruits / NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
« on: Sep 06, 2011, 01:24:25 AM »
If you loved Vader's "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" from end of the Revenge of Sith, you'll love it even more when George Lucas cut and pastes it into the end of Return of the Jedi.

Apparently there is info on even more changes GL is making to the Original Trilogy with the up coming Blu Ray release. Some of these rumored changes include a new CGIing of Jabba's face in ROTJ, CGI "eyes" on the Ewoks, and the strangest of all they are adding Vader's famous "Nooooooooooooo!" to the end of ROTJ. It is suppose to come right before Vader chucked The Emperor down the reactor shaft. I've heard the audio and it sounds just like a cut and paste of the ROTS No. There was also a rumor that when Luke takes off Vader's helmet at the end of the film it'll be Hayden under the mask.

Now I'm sure we will all enjoy GL making his movies even BETTER and don't hope that he dies in a tragic plane accident before he can rape what was once wonderful films anymore.

The Sphere has invaded my dreams! Well one dream at least. But only three of you made the cut, Gwynn, Fiero, and Beck. I'm guessing this is mainly because I talk to you three the most and know what all three of you really look like.

I wish I could say this was an exciting dream. Something like the four of us fighting off an alien invasion, or killing a zombie horde. It wasn't even a sexy dream. It all honesty it was pretty fucking boring as far as dreams go. It just kinda started in the middle of it. I was at someones house, or a cabin or something like that. I know it wasn't my house and not a house I'd ever been to before, but whatever I had my own room that I was staying in. Anyway I end up finding some of Beck's bras in my room. And not in the like they were left on my floor the night before kinda way, but like the they got mixed up with my laundry kinda way. Like I said, not a sexy dream. So I go out to return said item and find the three of you sitting around talking about a guy named "Stan The Man."

Now, I had no idea who Stan the Man was...And so I was informed by the rest of you. Turns out he was kinda "Goatse" type guy that was known for being hung like a horse. I was kinda glad I didn't know who was at this point, because it means I hadn't gone looking for guys with huge dorks on the internet. I then said that there were only two "Stan The Mans" and that was Stan Lee and Stan Musical.

Suddenly the whole dream just jumps ahead and we are all in a truck driving someplace. And it was one of those old 70's style trucks, which explains why all four of us could fit in the cab. I was sitting on the far passenger side, Beck was sitting next to me. I don't know who was sitting next to her (maybe she can shed some light on it. :p) or who was driving. I never looked over there in the dream, just straight ahead. We were on some back gravel type road going someplace. I got the impression we were leaving the place we were just at to go someplace else. And then it just ended and I woke up...never found out where we were going.

I feel I wasted your guest staring roles in my dream with such lame dream, and if you guys show up again I will try to do better.

Couple hours early, but since I'm working on 2 hours sleep here I don't know if I can stay awake long enough for the clock to strike midnight and I just wanted to make sure someone started it, since she starts all the ones for the rest of us.

And there would usually be something here relating to your birthday that took lots of research on my part, but I'm tired bitch! I'll do it tomorrow.

Tropical Paradise of Hard Shelled Fruits / Spider-Man 4 dead.
« on: Jan 12, 2010, 12:34:53 PM »
Looks like Rami and Sony just couldn't get along. Not that after seeing Spider-Man 3 I think this really a bad thing. Not looking forward to another origin story either since we just got that story not to long ago. Unless everyone had their memory wiped in the last 8 years.

Culver City, CA (January 11, 2010) -- Peter Parker is going back to high school when the next Spider-Man hits theaters in the summer of 2012.

Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios announced today they are moving forward with a film based on a script by James Vanderbilt that focuses on a teenager grappling with both contemporary human problems and amazing super-human crises.

The new chapter in the Spider-Man franchise produced by Columbia, Marvel Studios and Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin, will have a new cast and filmmaking team. Spider-Man 4 was to have been released in 2011, but had not yet gone into production.

“A decade ago we set out on this journey with Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire and together we made three Spider-Man films that set a new bar for the genre. When we began, no one ever imagined that we would make history at the box-office and now we have a rare opportunity to make history once again with this franchise. Peter Parker as an ordinary young adult grappling with extraordinary powers has always been the foundation that has made this character so timeless and compelling for generations of fans. We’re very excited about the creative possibilities that come from returning to Peter's roots and we look forward to working once again with Marvel Studios, Avi Arad and Laura Ziskin on this new beginning,” said Amy Pascal, co-chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment.

“Working on the Spider-Man movies was the experience of a lifetime for me. While we were looking forward to doing a fourth one together, the studio and Marvel have a unique opportunity to take the franchise in a new direction, and I know they will do a terrific job,” said Sam Raimi.

“We have had a once-in-a-lifetime collaboration and friendship with Sam and Tobey and they have given us their best for the better part of the last decade. This is a bittersweet moment for us because while it is hard to imagine Spider-Man in anyone else’s hands, I know that this was a day that was inevitable,” said Matt Tolmach, president of Columbia Pictures, who has served as the studio’s chief production executive since the beginning of the franchise. “Now everything begins anew, and that’s got us all tremendously excited about what comes next. Under the continuing supervision of Avi and Laura, we have a clear vision for the future of Spider-Man and can’t wait to share this exciting new direction with audiences in 2012.”

"Spider-Man will always be an important franchise for Sony Pictures and a fresh start like this is a responsibility that we all take very seriously," said Michael Lynton, Chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures. "We have always believed that story comes first and story guides the direction of these films and as we move onto the next chapter, we will stay true to that principle and will do so with the highest respect for the source material and the fans and moviegoers who deserve nothing but the best when it comes to bringing these stories and characters to life on the big screen."

Tropical Paradise of Hard Shelled Fruits / What are you reading?
« on: Dec 10, 2009, 03:08:58 PM »
Don't know how well this will go over here, but lets give it the old college try anyhow.

Currently I am reading Moonraker by Ian Fleming.

23
And I'm just wondering what Universal Studios is going to do with all those Marvel Rides. Can't see Disney letting them keep them with Disney World being just down the road.

24
I just saw a Wal-Mart commercial for Guitar Hero: World Tour that had a white blonde Soccer mom playing this game with her two small children in a nice suburban home with implications of them "Rocking". Now I'm not a angst filled teenager anymore, but that sounds about 180 degrees from cool and that's who they are trying to sell the game too now, you think that'll kill the cool of it.

Course I wouldn't know anything about it as I have never played it...played real guitar for awhile, but never the game.

A few things of note that also happened on the date of your birth:

2001 : Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise divorce.

2000: Confederate submarine H.L. Hunley is raised to the surface after 136 years on the ocean floor

1999: The final episode of Mystery Science Theater 3000, “Danger: Diabolik”, airs on Sci-Fi channel ending it’s 11 year run.

1978: Odie makes his first appearance in the cartoon strip Garfield.

1974: US President Richard Nixon announces his resignation.

1963: The date of "The Great Train Robbery" in United Kingdom when thieves held up a train carrying the Royal Mail and stole 120 mail sacks , the mail sacks contained cash and gems valued in excess of 7 Million.

1930: Betty Boop premieres in the animated film "Dizzy Dishes".

and while I was looking up all that shit I found out that we were both born on Fridays.

So Chinese again this year or something different?

Was totally unexpected too as she was only like 6 years old and healthy. She'd been acting sick for the last two day, but I thought it was a kidney stone since I had that happen to another cat a few years back and he acted exactly the same way. I knew if it was there wasn't much they could do, but if they could make it easier on her then I'd take her to the Vet. So I did that and it turns out she didn't have a Kidney stone, but instead some rare blood diease that only effects Cats and is being carried by ticks. It attacks the red blood cells and then turns on the internal organs basicly breaking them down. There wasn't much that could be done for her. There was a super expensive experimental drug that they pretty much said hadn't worked on a single cat that had it before. My only courses of action where to put her down or to let her basicly rot from the inside and die in a week in extreme pain. I choose the former. If she had to die I'd rather it be quick and painless. So I went from thinking I was taking my cat in for a routine thing and ended up having to put her down.

So pretty much my whole day has sucked. I actually don't know what I'm going to do since I can't remember not owning a cat like ever. This is the first time I won't have one around.

Starting this thread for two reasons. One, I'm just curious and find you can learn alot about people by the way they answer these kinds of questions.

and two to just have something new on the forum. I mean this place is so dead....

Crowd: How dead is it?

...this place is so dead that it's a shoe in for a best supporting actor Oscar.

Anyway, Just name one place you've always wanted to vist and one place you'd like to live (and it can't be where you currently live.)

You'll note I havn't posted mine and it's cause I havn't narrowed it down to one each yet.
