House is a very standard procedural only with doctors instead of cops/lawyers. It comes along with the same tropes of your standard procedural.

Cop or law shows there basically just show you the process of this profession. Law and Order, the Mentalist, CSI and all those types of shows. They end up doing the same thing a lot of the time if you watch a lot of them, which I don't even do. Whatever solution to the case they have 45 minutes in is wrong. The killer/culprit is usually an unimportant character revealed around the 15 minute point, often someone outside of their pay grade. "Oh look, Rider Strong has a single line in this show. He's coming back. He's the killer."
In House they have diseases rather than suspects, but the rest is the same.
