Interesting note on my restaurant review: It was originally 1038 words.
Copy Editor: "DUDE. Your review is over a thousand words."
Me: "...Yeah. Is that a lot?"
Copy Editor: "..YEAH. The average review is lkike 500."
Me: "Well, I'm just above average."

Ended up having to cut it down to 900 words.

Note: The Tempest writing I do as part of the class, so I do NOT get paid for them.
Articles I wrote for an online wargaming magazine that has yet to publish them? Those I get paid per word for.

Oh, so it's for a class.  I thought you were just volunteering to write.  I know they have openings here for our school paper but what would I write about?  Anyway, I think the ones here are volunteer.
