Samuel L. Jackson's new mile-high thriller Snakes On A Plane has created such a buzz among internet film fans, movie bosses have called for re-shoots - to give the film a tougher rating. The film, which stars Jackson as an FBI agent trying to keep a federal witness alive onboard a plane full of snakes, wrapped last September - but went back before the cameras earlier this month for five days of additional shooting. Film bosses at distributor New Line Cinema opted to add new scenes to the film to take the movie from PG-13 into R-rated territory, according to industry magazine The Hollywood Reporter. They claim the second round of filming became necessary after intense and growing fan interest in the film, which is scheduled to be released this summer. Among the reported additions to the film is a foul-mouthed rant from Jackson in which his agent character bellows, "I want these motherf**king snakes off the motherf**king plane!" The line is expected to take on cult status. The film-makers have reportedly added more gore, more deaths, more nudity and more snakes to the finished product.

Behold! The Power of INTERNET!
-
CAN'T FUCKING WAIT!! :o
-
and more snakes
-_-
-
I'm going to this opening night just to see who shows up.
-
I and most other net users don't give a padded damn about the movie itself. I just like to say....
....SNAKES ON THE PLANE!
Jeez, listen to this shit:Among the reported additions to the film is a foul-mouthed rant from Jackson in which his agent character bellows, "I want these motherf**king snakes off the motherf**king plane!" The line is expected to take on cult status.
So they're attempting to create an Internet meme. How marvelous, but it won't work. They're like the geeky guy that gets picked on in school who tries to come up with a good comeback and looks stupid when he uses it on somebody.
-
This is a MAD TV Sketch gone wrong.
-
No kidding. Sure, a five minute skit, but a feature-length film? Are they going to encounter bigger and badder snakes the further up the plane they go, with a battle against an anaconda in the cockpit?
Which reminds me of a Chuck Norris fact: "Chuck, unlike many people, prefers eating lizard legs to frog legs. Hence the existance of snakes."
-
Yeah that line "It's expected to reach cult status" assured that it will never reach cult status...with you and I.
But the millions of theatre going gumps who don't use INTERNET will be saying that line like nobodies business. That is if they see the movie at all.

I'm saving my movie bucks for Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector.

What the wonder that was Starship Troopers? I remember the craptacular tagline = THIS GENERATION'S STAR WARS!
-

More like this Generation's "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes".
-
They should've gotten that snake from Anaconda to come out in the movie as the Boss Snake. And Kareem Abdul Jabbar could totally fight him.
-
What the wonder that was Starship Troopers? I remember the craptacular tagline = THIS GENERATION'S STAR WARS!
Yeah I heard that attached to "The Fifth Element" and "Titan A.E." as well. Really if anything is this generations St*r WarzzZZ it's Lord of the Rings.
-
It definately wasn't this generation's St*r WarzzZZ. x.x
-
Stars Wars defiantly wasn't this generations St*r WarzzZZ...Sad as that it is. Fuck you Jar Jar Binks!
-
Yup, though I blame the desire to display what things looked like over the design of a story. The new trilogies had no real story, which is why they don't remain as memorable, but people remember Jar Jar.
-
Well I actually think the core story was pretty good...he fucked it up in the details. Like Dialouge, Edits, pacing, things like that but the general story is pretty good. I mean it's hard to enjoy the movie when there a lines like "No....it's cause I'm so in love with you." or right in the middle of the climatic emtional battle a fucking goofy ass robot flies into frame. It's sad cause you know he's got it in him to make it really good, but he just didn't. I mean that scene where you get that side view of Vader's head and the mask is locked into place, and helmet is lowered on and then he takes his first breath and it pushes the smoke away....It's amazing. Course that's over shadowed by some anal need to dress Clone Troopers in CGI costumes instead of just making the fucking costume.

Im noy sure wha ttama said

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

You're drunk arn't you? Just like Faye...I swear.

Well that's what I mean, there was no overall 'story', there was a plot, which was good, but the story itself is the details.
-
I know I'm suppose to and expected to find drunk people humorous, but for some reason it doesn't do anything for me unless they're getting arrested. Then you can't wipe the smile off my face.
-
You're drunk arn't you? Just like Faye...I swear.
Being 'drunk like Faye' implies that one's blood could be processed and sold as 80 proof liquor.
-
I don't think that's too far off base for IDE.
-
Does he have the STDs that retard the body's natural dislike for that much booze? Probably not, so I doubt it was that much. When the CDC restricts him from going near public water sources, then we'll see.

I plan to cleanse her of all maladies...and erase her memory.
also...
Chris Rohan of Bethesda, Md., created an elaborate, R-rated audio trailer that lovingly mocks the title and movie. "It's a genius title," Rohan said. "It's so stupid it's great. It invites satire, but it's something you just love. It's something I can't explain. You either get it or you don't."
The audio bit uses a Jackson sound-alike shouting, "I want these mother------- snakes off the mother------- plane!" Soon, the growing legion of fans added their voices as they demanded that that phrase also appear in the movie.
Apparently, the studio got the hint. When Ellis assembled Jackson and others for the recent shoot, the filmmakers added more gore, more death, more nudity, more snakes and more death scenes. And they shot a scene where Jackson does utter the line that fans have demanded.
Those involved with the film said the reshoots weren't prompted by fans but rather by the existing footage that already was a hairline into R territory. Within the studio, the thinking was, "We're already going to get an R, why not go all the way?" But the filmmakers do concede that the Jackson line will be in the movie for the sake of the fans.

So the line is the fans' idea?

I think I have a possible theory on why George Lucas screwed up the prequels. It's because he had kids.
See, I've noticed something (Bernie's going to love this). Whenever most people have children, it's as if half their brain shuts down. They become dumber, they have this strange desire to have even more children and even more children (like my step-aunt and uncle who have 4 kids under 6), and they start to do really stupid things that non-breeders don't do, like drive SUVs. Their whole world revolves around the "miracle" of children and all sense of reality is erased from their consience.
Now, as far as I remember, Mr Lucas had his first child between Empire and Jedi. As you notice, Empire was his best movie, yet most fans say Jedi was a bit of a disappointment, especially with the Ewoks (giant teddy bears? Did Georgie have teddies on the brain thanks to his child?) And he's already admitted that he focused the prequels on children, whereas when he was writing the original trilogy, he wanted something mature and intellectual as well as action packed.
He basically dumbed down the sequels to his "parent" intellect level, so that they would be kid friendly.
The only flaw with that part of the theory is the fact that Sith was PG-13, as well as the fact that Indiana Jones was filmed when he had kids but didn't suck. However, this is explained in the rest of my theory.
The other part of my theory was that, like most rich-as-fuck, brainwashed-by-jews Hollywood directors, he equates a good movie to something where CG comes first, and storyline and dialogue is a dead last. This explains why, even after having kids, the Jones trilogy didn't suck, because it didn't rely on a lot of CG. Unfortunatly, CG is not only Hollywood's greatest blessing, it's also it's greatest curse, because it makes it VERY EASY to make shitty movies (See: Ultraviolet).
Oh, and to throw one more idea onto the table, he also wanted to do the movie HIS way, and refused to listen to much criticism from his staff and the fans, which made it even worse.
So, in conclusion:
Massive amounts of CG + Parent complex to make everything child-friendly + doing things his way only = Very shitty prequels.
-
George having kids was almost as bad as Eddie Murphy having them.
-

There would be shitty movies with or without CG.

True dat!

I have my own Theory....he fired Gary Kurtz. Course that happened about the time he had kids....so it could still work.

I have my own hypothesis, D. Empire came out before you were born, but Return came out afterwards. And things got worse from there. This proves my supposition that your birth is both the cause and the indicator of the death of intelligence for this plane of existence.

BURN!

But your basing the level of intellegence in this universe on St*r WarzzZZ. There were a lot of stupid things that happened way before the movies came out.
-
I saw every single starwars during their original theatrical releases!
That's right bitches! I was in A new hope as an infant and it blew my fucking baby mind man! My theory is that that's why I'm awesome to this very day.
-
I saw all but A New Hope....Granted I was too young to to remeber ESB, but I did go.
-
I was in the womb when my mother went to see St*r WarzzZZ. I'm told I was taken to Empire. I have memories of seeing Jedi... though all I can remember is the Ewoks...
-

The phenom of which you speak is an unfortunate consequence of Placenta Brain (from the Childfree Glossary (http://happilychildfree.com/glossary.htm)) Men can be affected as well. If the birth doesn't do it, 8-10 hours of the same Wiggles DVDS every day usually finishes them off. :)
-
YOU PEOPLE ARE FUCKING TALKING WHEN THERE ARE MOTHERFUCKING SNAKES ON THE DAMN PLANE!? WE ALL GOING TO DIE!!!
-
Fry their little snakey brains with a Wiggles DVD. Works on people.
And I waited in line for 3 hours to see the original run of St*r WarzzZZ and saw it 26 more times that summer. Empire was a 4-hour wait, but my girlfriend & I saw the first showing and some guy bought a bunch of donuts to give to all the girls he thought were cute and another brought games from his shop, so we weren't hungry or too bored. :P
-
One way one can fry a snake's brain is to put one in an empty bathtub. They freak out and die.
That works for rattlesnakes, at least.
-
SRRSLY?
-
The poor snakes..... =(
-
The first date my parnets went on they went to see St*r WarzzZZ.
-
Fuck you all. I have no neat memories or stories about St*r WarzzZZ. I remember when I first exposed to it on VHS, I was hopelessly bored.
-
Wha....WHAT!?! Sacrilege!
-
BORED. I think that Merla liked them was the only reason I eventually got sucked into them. Hell, she still goes through little watch-a-thons sometimes where she pops in the tapes and just watches them over and over and over again. Now she does that with Harry Potter and LOTR.
-
You must need a lot of flash and bang to keep you glued to the screen.
-
*specialized in both those areas*
-
Oh if only we knew who the mysterious guest was..that might have some meaning.
-
IDE.
And suprisingly, no, Rama. Anyway, I was still a kid at the time. I liked Jem and the Get-along Gang. Why should anyone be surprised that I couldn't give two shits about some freak in black cutting off another freak's hand or some giant space ball getting blowed-up?
-
I know Jem...but I don't think I'm familar with Get-Along Gang.
-
If you care, google it. Otherwise, don't bother.
-
:: doesn't bother. ::
-
I am also curious and am also unwilling to look it up.
-
"I am CURIOUS ya'see...I'm Cosby #8...CURIOSITY COSBY...THEOOOOOOO!"
-
I care for St*r WarzzZZ about as much as Nuri does.
-
I remember the get along gang
Their leader was a moose right?

Hmm...*jots down* Free donuts good way to make friendly with the ladies.
Actually, this might not work with our fat-obsessed society.
-
I remember the get along gang
Their leader was a moose right?
Damn straight.
They were a bunch of anthropomorphic kids that were buddies and the gist of it was exactly how it sounds.
-
Ohhhhhhhh with the letters one their Chests and they where all animals...Damn, I didn't know that was what that was called.
-
The only one I remember is Montgomery "Good News" Moose. He was annoying as hell. :P
-
I have a Get-Along-Gang sleeping bag.
On a somewhat related note, I have 3 of Shirt Tales animals in plush form (Bogey, Tyg and Rick). I belive they were given away at some fast food chain. I'm mildly disappointed that I never had Digger the mole or Pammy the panda.
-
Shirt Tales was my favorite show when I was little.
-
What the hell was that?
Anyway, I loved 'The Elephant Show' as a kid.
