One morning a husband took a pair of underwear out of the drawer. "What the ? ? ?" he said to himself as a little "dust" cloud appeared when he shook them out.
"April," he hollered into the bathroom, "why did you put talcum powder in my underwear?"
She shot back: "It's not talcum powder. It's 'Miracle Grow'

Ha, I like that "Boulevard of Broken Dreams" song.  That's my third, as I've only heard like two other songs from them.  As far as members go, sure they all wear eyeliner, but that's not enough for me anymore.

That's because they went emo-lite to sell more records.

Semi-related, I heard this song at work a couple of weeks ago and have spent hours seeking it out.  Since I think it's semi-recent, I recorded hours and hours of Sirius - The Pulse ("90's and now") and have been weeding through the content to see if the song I want pops up.  My God, nearly everything is "emo-lite", as you put it.  Everybody whines, and Nickelback's song, "Savin' Me" sounds exactly like the same shit they've put out before.

Three Doors Down, Third Eye Blind, Dave Matthews Band, Vanessa Carlton, Counting Crows, Avril, I hate you all.  Even Kelly Clarkson has turned into a giant whining freak.  "Because of you, waaah waaah waaah!"  Where's "Since U Been Gone" Kelly?  She had some energy.

Which is why I play MP3s in my car of Soundgarden, Zeppelin, Nirvana, RatM, Sevendust, Rob Zombie, Tool, Orange 9mm, etc.

No need for shitty emo, or emo-lite.

hey now, I like old school 90's Green Day, when they were angry punk/grunge. Back before Emo was popular.

Hum a few bars?

I'd say maybe that'd be worth a try except my throat is the shits.  I can barely speak right now let alone hum or attempt to sing.  Anyway, it'd be off-key.  It actually has the eurodance/popsynth sounds of an 80's song (which means it could be an 80's song, I suppose), like something Vince Clarke (early Depeche Mode and Erasure) would've written or a-ha would've performed.  Normally I can find any song I need by just copying a handful of words, but the singer here actually sounds kinda intelligible.  (I even had two coworkers listen for words and they said they couldn't understand what he was singing either.)  He reminds me of Andy Bell (from Erasure, but I doubt it's him) or the singer from Spandau Ballet ("Gold", "True", among others).  And work is the only place I've heard this song.

At first I thought it can't be that obscure if it's playing at work.  They only play stuff that was something of a hit.  But they also play "Don't Let Me Down" a LOT, off of No Doubt's "Rocksteady".  And from what I can tell, that was not really a hit for them..

I don't suppose anyone knows any good lyrics sites.

After Working for the bookstore for a couple of weeks, nigh going on two to three months now, I've come to a conclusion:
I've made a list of people I'm going to hunt down and kill when my soul finally breaks and I go completely insane, and Sheryl Crow, Gwen Stefani, and Pretty much ANY DAMN ARTIST played on KUIC is going to get a pitchfork in the fucking eye.

The Cure was pretty whiney if you think about it, but somehow, they made it sound good. Plus they had a big dancing cooter on legs in a video.  :)

At lot of Sheryl Crow gets played, but I can tolerate her because she can sing.

I was hoping when I returned to work I could listen for the song again.  Then today, I get a call that they had to cut hours and I'm not going back at all this month.

When you know the lyrics, and maybe even the band, but not the name of the song.

But that's the problem, duder, I don't know the lyrics!  If anything I had written was correct, I would've found it by now.  I always find it.  The singer is too intelligible.  I shall hence rediagnosis myself with "Acute Bruce Hornsby and the Rangeotosis".

Bah, fuck it.  Here's what I copied down.  Maybe D's a fucking idiot savant and he'll find it.  Here's what I thought I heard.

"want it and take it"
"you must.... (something something) you were the reason"
"(something) love of mine"
"want to get married"  [It's a BITCH, ha ha not our Bitch, searching that one because it comes up with all of these lonely losers blogs, even if I stick in "lyrics" in the search...]
"want my heart"

I think a part of the song is telling you to dance or something.
