I predict that getting their wallets, um, husbands to buy them one will be the next status symbol for soccer moms since Hummers are getting a bit passe'.
The 19 named assault-style firearms banned under a 1994 law that expires Monday:
* AK-47 and all models of the Norinco, Mitchell and Poly Technologies Avtomat Kalashnikovs, designed in the former Soviet Union.
* Uzi and Galil, both made by Action Arms Israeli Military Industries.
* TEC-9, TEC-22 and TEC-DC9, manufactured by Intratec.
* SWD M-10, M-11, M-11-9 and M-12. Based on the design of the MAC-10, their full-automatic cousin, these assault pistols are designed to fire many bullets over a wide area in seconds.
* Street Sweeper and Striker 12 and other revolving cylinder semiautomatic shotguns.
* Beretta AR-70 and SC-70, used by armed forces in a number of countries including Italy, Jordan and Malaysia.
* Colt AR-15, the civilian version of the M-16 rifle that is the U.S. military's standard-issue rifle.
* Several weapons manufactured by Fabrique Nationale, the FN-FAL, FN-LAR and FNC. The guns are used by the armed forces of more than 90 countries.
* Steyr AUG, a rifle made in Germany.

This is a bad bad thing. Bush and congress suckles man titties.
-
But you need gunowners to protect you!
-
I wouldn't protect Tom.
-
He's not an American anyway, right?
-
He's from Boston.
-
Ireland?
-
Nah, because if he were, he'd probably have Bono as his Avatar.
-
That was me.
-
Im from Rhode Island. :P
-
I wonder how much the body count from gang wars will increase because of this.
Probably little. It will make getting machine guns easier, but I'm sure they could get them even with the law in place.
-
Yep. Need those assault riffles to hunt dear and protect my family from like... a well organized rogue swat team.
-
Yeah, Merla was ranting to me about this. I think even now regular guns are too easy to get. The sole purpose behind a gun is to kill something. Anyone who isn't a cop or doesn't hunt has no reason in the world to possibly own one.
-
......well, yeah... but.........you weren't in the fucking army, and you didn't get to fire at little man-shaped black things popping up from behind grass burms.
I want a Colt-15 so bad. So, so bad.
-
No gun for you!
-
*gives Megs a wimpy pocket knife instead*
-
I'm serous about buying one, but now's just not the time that I should be spending money on something like that. I'm waiting for some more black people to move into my neighborhood.
-
[Dudley Moore] God, I'm so funny! [/Dudley Moore]
-
:o
-
On a more serous note, I honestly do want to own a large firearm, and I simply don't have a good reason to own it. "missing" weapons just isn't a good excuse.
-
Get big, sharp knives! No one calls you a terrorist when you have knives, until you go on a killing spree with them, that is.
-
And you can, like, totally cook with them!
-
Bah, already have a lot of those. Cappy is a nihon buff, and there are a lot of swords around the house up on the walls and on dressers and shit.
-
*robs Megs' house*
-
Stop. Quit it.
Quit it.
Stop.
-
Ask Cappy to pretend he's been dishonored and then see if he commits suicide.
-
Oh my God! That's the best idea EVER!!!
::turns around, runs upstairs::
-
And don't use any honorifics when you say it. You know, to really drive the point home.
-
Oh my God! That's the best idea EVER!!!

somehow u doing that, and Nuri mentioning a "cappy' made me remember of Regan's "friend" in the exorcist
-
I don't remember that movie. And I saw it for the first time less than three years ago.
-
wwoooooww i LOOOVE that movieee
-
Why?
-
Yeah, are you sure you're a girl?
-
the exorcist? cause i looove horror movies
-
That movie is fucking strange and after the first time . . . it's pretty fucking boring.
-
no it isnt!
-
Kind of. How many times can you watch that little bitch throw up?
-
I think I've seen that about 5 times.
Though I'm amazed in Faye's taste in movies. The Exorcist roxors.
-
It's a good movie, and maybe I wouldn't be COMPLETELY bored watching it again, but I just don't have an intense desire to.
-
Eh, it was creepy but I just didn't think it was that great a movie. I like stuff with werewolves for some reason.
-

ive watched it like more than 20 times.

theres a new movie coming out...i dont remember the actresses but i remember they are "in" right now...maybe that girl from spiderman, im 45% sure
-
It's one of those that I'll watch every other year or so. Since it's not in constant rotation, I haven't gotten sick of it like I have of the Nightmare & Halloween movies. I avoid the Hellraisers for that very reason - I don't want to get tired of them.
Now I want to see Reanimator & Basket Case. :(
-
Reanimator was good. But for some reason, the horror film comunity seems to elevate unjustly to like, Nightmare level.
-
I've only seen one Hellraiser movie, one Freddy movie, and none of the Halloween ones. I didn't really watch movies like that as a kid, mostly because I was already scared of the dark to begin with and well... I was scared. Once I got old enough to get over it, I no longer had any desire to see any of those movies.
