I got a pretty good haul this year from my parents, which is unusual... But I got alot of DVDs that I wanted as well as practical items that I needed.  I got:

Ghost in the Shell 2: Special Edition
Sin City: Extended Cut
St*r WarzzZZ: Episode III
The Critic: The Complete Series
The Warriors: Director's Cut

And practical things such as:

A paper shredder
An Atomic Clock
A new electric shaver
Dress shirts
Black dress pants
Some ties

My grandparents ended up giving me more dress shirts, $50 and a Hess Truck (I get one every year).  I always give gifts on Christmas, and that includes a gift to myself.  I got myself a new Pioneer 5.1 Home Theater package, Project Gotham Racing 3 and Quake 4 for the Xbox 360.

From Eddie:

Crystal dog & cat figurines
Walnut DVD storage cabinet
Emerald, diamond & amethyst ring that didn't get sized in time for Xmas, but will be picked up from jeweler's this week.
Cool silver earrings with Bast & Egyptian lotus

From his brother:

Bottle of wine
Framed picture of his kid

From my family:

Gee, I don't know yet.  We were supposed to get Eddie's mother, take her to his brother's house (90-minute drive), hang there a while, then go to my nephew's for the first gathering of what's left of our entire family since our dad died in 1997, but she threw a tantrum and refused to go anywhere, so after everyone calling back and forth trying to beg her to stay with the original plan until past fucking NOON, we had to drive to his brother's, stay out there and worship the hyper brat (who along with half of Toys R Us got a laptop to go with the 27" HD TV and DVD player in his room - did I mention he just turned FOUR?) for a couple of hours, then drive out to his mother's and spend an hour listening to her bitch.  By that time, my younger nephew had gone to his fiancee's for their family Christmas, so we left before the brother & family showed up and joined everyone else thoroughly sick of Feigned/Forced Family Fun at our regular pub.  I let Eddie get trashed, drove us home, put him to bed and continued with my "celebrations".

We were both very down in the first place because our beloved Russian Blue cat collapsed and died on Friday, which my family was extremely sad and sympathetic about.  If Eddie had said anything to his mother, she would have been jealous because we were thinking of something besides her, so he just sat there and didn't say much.  I'm sure there's going to be hell to pay for that; haven't gotten his brother's report from their visit yet.  God help me, I just want to slap her until her teeth rattle!   With all of the people this year who no longer have a real home and everyone who sat alone on Christmas wondering if their kids would spare five minutes to even give them a phone call, how dare she have a fucking little titty-baby snit?!

Hess Trucks? I can't believe they still make those, I got a few of those as a kid.

I'm also jealous at all of you people who got tons of gifts, DVD box sets, and other shit that my family would never buy me. 'TV series? Does it help you get through school and get a job? No? Then you don't need it!' My family tends to only buy the necessaries and never the non-necessaries and entertainment stuff. Forget anime and video games, they'll never get those for me.

Bernie: Fuck, your family's disfunctional, a 4 year old with a HD tv? A crazed old lady?

I won't know my full haul until tonight, but I will mention one thing I got this christmas.

When I sent my list out via email, I sent a main list with the stuff I wanted, and a few emails to specific people who I knew could get me certain stuff, for example I told my uncle to get a metal cd that I'd never ask most of the rest of my family since they'd probably pour holy water on me. And then, a week later, I sent an email that said "Oh yea, I wouldn't mind a winter coat, and one or two pairs of pants." My mistake.

By the end of this weekend I had recieved 3 coats, 2 during one dinner alone, and had to tell another family member to not bother getting a coat.

Before you say I'm being ungrateful and I should be thankful I got any presents, realize I really don't need 3 coats and that's more than most homeless people get. It's too much!

Two of the coats I'm considering keeping, and I have gift reciepts for both so I'm okay on that one. The third one I don't like at all, it's too big and I don't like the color. Unfortunatly, it's from the uncle whom I told to get a CD (listen much?), and he got it from a catalog, so returning it is almost impossible even if he agreed to return it, which he doesn't.

So I have at least one coat I don't want or need... And I'm not sure what to do with it.

I got Arrested Development Season 1 (which I want to return for Venture Bros. if it's out or Aeon Flux if it's not).

A where the wild things are T shirt

Some weird electronic bubbling light center piece with an alien on top of it (I would've liked this as a freshman but now I have 2 of those light bubble towers that change color...much more classy for impressing the freshman chicks than some alien).

A new wallet

Money

A cook book

Cologne

A set of spices

DBZ Budokai Tenkaichi for PS2

and some other stuff...

*rant begins here so if you want to skip out now is the time*

And after an emotional battle I am getting (if all goes as planned) a 30 gig Ipod Video tommorow after my doctors appointment.  My sister tried to block me from getting one because mom wouldn't buy her one for her birthday. My sister is 26 years old.  She thought that me getting one was unfair.  I told her that just because mom wouldn't get her one is no reason to block me from getting one. She said I don't deserve one and I told her that she needs to stop hating.  This ridiculous argument turned into a knock down drag out Festivus style airing of the greivances (complete with dredging shit up that happened 5 years ago) that culminated with me packing my bags (this is all happening on christmas eve mind you) and about to leave (i think my mom hid my keys, she wasn't here for the start of this debacle because if she had been the argument would've been silenced before it escalated), then everyone is crying except me...until my mom mentioned my deceased father and how  hard a blow that was  and that we're all we've got...then even I let a single tear roll down from my left eye and decided to stay for christmas.

Now if I had struck right then I would've had my ipod oredered online right there and my mom was going to give a chell to my sisters boyfriend (who had bought my sister an ipod for her birthday) so that everything would be "fair" (my mom didn't want to get the ipod for my sister because she is laboring under the notions that ear phones make you deaf and put you off your guard in potentially dangerous situations).

But i wanted insurance on my ipod so I need to get it from bestbuy with the uber extended warranty. So I waited and then it seemed like maybe I wasn't going to get it but I put the question to mom just a moment ago and now we're shopping around for one tommorow.

Now before you call me an ungrateful spoiled fuck keep this in mind.  This Ipod isn't about me getting an Ipod it's about my sister (and her fucking SKEWED view of reality) dictating what is "fair" and what I deserve based on her warped take on how I behave.

So you see I am not an ungrateful spoiled fuck.  I am a self rightous spoiled fuck and damn it...there is a difference.

You should tell your sister to lick your ass the next time you see her.  God's honest truth is that Christmas is all about people getting what they don't deserve.

I got a HP Photosmart color printer and several assorted odds and ends. But family-wise, this wasn't such a good year.  I told half the family they were ignorant cunts, and my sister-in-law's pretty much made her way on the shit list of everybody.  Which is where she belongs, the bitch.  But none of that is going to bother me and my week off work, no matter how hard they try.

Update!

I went to the pet store yesterday and got an adorable blonde-white dumbo rat, who my sister immediately named Quistis. -_- I guess it's okay, since all my rats just come when I click my fingers anyway, but I wanted to call her Alfild because she jumped out of her carrier as soon as I opened it and I thought that was very bad-ass of her. But now her name is Quistis instead, which is a really stupid name and doesn't fit her personality at all. Oh, the injustice! Oh, the shame! I shall never recover from this humiliation of my rat getting a silly name! O sigh! O wo is me!

I'm not sure why your rat has to be named what your sister calls it.  I had a cat for a good week before settling on a name and this after it had been on a farm for months being called another name.

Are you being serious or you mean rat= man?? :P

Title: Merry Christmas
Post by: Bitch on Dec 28, 2005, 05:41:50 PM
Half serious. Since most people seem to believe that male rats are always aggressive to other males no matter what, most pet stores will keep male rats apart. Since they've never had other rats with them, they don't feel such a huge need to have other rats as company and will be content to sit in their cage and wait for you to come home and play. However, they're kind of stinky and need to be played with more often because of their lack of cage mates. Need let out extra often if you intend to keep it in a 10-gallon aquarium, and the aquarium would need to be scrubbed at least twice a week to get out their extra grossness and keep them from getting sick.

Quistis licked me today and accepted the treat I gave her. Cute! :D

Post by: Faye Valentine on Dec 28, 2005, 06:21:41 PM
extra stinky? u mean like a ferret or worse?

twice a week so they wont get sick? i dont know how these rats can survive in the outside world now
Title: Merry Christmas
Post by: Bitch on Dec 28, 2005, 06:27:19 PM
They're a little less stinky than ferrets. The reason they smell kind of bad is because their balls sweat, apparently.

In the outside world, rats don't have to live in a small place with the smell of their urine, feces and old food building up in there. They can get respiratory infection or worse, especially if their food ends up being shat in because the rest of their cage is too filthy.

So that means then that the female rats don't smell bad, right??

What do they eat??(this is the most important thing to me, since I'm lazy and the supermarket is like 10 blocks away)
Title: Merry Christmas
Post by: Bitch on Dec 28, 2005, 08:30:31 PM
No, female rats don't stink. And rats will eat almost anything, even though it's about as good an idea to feed rats on your leftover McDonalds as it is to eat it yourself. If you're incredibly lazy, you can just share your own meals with your rat. It's not the healthiest option, but the rat will be very happy, and it's also a way to bond with them, and an extra-handy way to train them, especially if you have chocolate. Carbonated beverages will kill a rat because of its lack of ability to pass gas, and since alcohol is a mild poison to humans, it is fairly safe to assume that it would kill a rat pretty effectively. Don't feed them raw eggs, make sure any meat you give them is fully cooked, and don''t give them eggshells. If you want an animal to give eggshells to, get a hermit crab.

Aw, how old was the cat? What was he/she's name?

Paddy.  Would have been 9 in July.  He took care of all the little kitten waifs we brought home - groomed them, let them sleep on him, never beat them up, which I had never seen a male cat do. The necropsy showed he died of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which is a  virtually undetectable thickening of the heart ventricle.  Symptoms are difficulty breathing or rear leg paralysis, but many cats have no symptoms whatsoever and literally drop dead.  Considering that the long-term prognosis is not good for cats who have this, I'm glad it was very quick for him.

My family is coming over tonight, so I'm over Christmess.  :P  Today I'm cranky about paying almost $1000 in school district taxes.  Houston public schools more or less holding pens while parents work.  Little shits can't even spell "fuck" properly when they spray-paint it on people's fences.

So for latins it's sort of like the tolkien-verse where height equals knowledge and powet.  Fascinating.  This makes miami The Latin Shire.

I wanna complain about something!

Quistis died this morning, and there's no telling how. I had to bury the body then scrub the cage and bathe the rats to hopefully avoid spread of diseases.
WAIT! was that the new rat you got???????????
Yeah. She may have been sick at the store, or she may have just gone into shock like a fish, or she could have been attacked, though there were no signs of it.

Hey Nuri my feelings are hurt!  You didn't mention the frog socks I got you and a gift yet to be purchased.

Doug you need to shut up.  You are so ungrateful.  Must you complain about everything.

My  take:

pajamas with bears  :x
fleece cat sweater
skechers tennis shoes
knit socks
body splash
$5 dollar gift card to Bill Miller BBQ
Owl ring  (bought myself, stilling awaiting for it to arrive)
gift promised by an Aunt
gift yet to be purchased from Mom
Lord of the Rings Extended DVD from sis (yet to arrive)
Those shoes were an x-mas gift?  Then I guess that makes mine a gift, too...  I forgot about the socks, but in my defense, I've buried them under an inch and a half of paperwork.

ROTK came today and she spent like eight or nine hours sitting there and watching it.  I don't know how she can do it.  I like the movies and all but after the first hour or so, I start dying.  The Frodo scenes are the worst though.  Give me Aragorn!

legolas fan girls -_-...Perhaps boy band elves were the main reason that the elf lords saw fit to give humans their own kingdoms to rule.

Legolas is great and all, but I'm after the older elves.  Maybe Arwen, too.... but not Cate Blanchett.  I know I should like her since she's Aussie but she did nothing for me as an elf.

I am now the owner of a 30 gig Ipod video.  I don't know whether to open it and enjoy a rich multi-media experience on the go or keep it MISB and hang it on the wall as a testament to the victory over my tyranical sister at the battle of christmas '05.

You should commemorate the event with a bronze statue.

...Or get the iPod bronzed and wear it around your neck as a testament of your victory.
