I just realized we don't have one. Har har. Tom, you should've picked up the slack on that one! Any thoughts? Any ideas who the heck Desmond is and why he lives in a magic egg inside the island?
-
I HAVE OTHER FRIENDS!
Actually I do have a theory about the hatch and Desmond.
What do we know?
-There is some kind of virus on the island, messing with some people, turning them into others. Ethan was possibly one of them, as was the boat dudes who kidnapped Walt. Rousseau claimed her crew also got sick, and she was forced to kill them. It's also possible Locke and Boone got the sickness as well. Hmmm....
-There is a radio tower near the hatch, though we have not seen it yet. Rosseau says her team arrived on the island from hearing it's broadcast of the numbers. The nutso dude Hurley met also claimed the numbers affected him. The numbers are special, and they appear on and in the hatch. But what about the tower, and why do the others control it, and why haven't they messed with Rousseau's transmission.
-The security system is black smoke, which makes a moaning-roar, and also makes clanking, gearlike noises. It uproots trees, creates holes, and was seen around the plane crash. It also chews people, but doesn't eat them. The pilot was 'chewed' and ghost Shannon also was chewed. Locke has stared it down (perhaps more than once) and feels safe around it. The security system wanted to drag Locke underground, where the hatch could be... hmmm.
-Aside from the plane crash, there are also 2 boat crashes (the Black Rock slave/mining ship from the 1880s+ and Rousseau's boat), the Nigerian Drug Plane, and perhaps however else the Others came to the Island. The island cannot be that unlucky, especially with a cable (which probably wasn't Rousseau's) sticking out of the ground into the ocean, the radio tower, and the hatch.
-Locke, Walt, Claire's son Aaron, Jack's Dad, and Ethan all seem to have super powers. Locke can walk, but still can't feel his legs. Walt is a frickin mutant, I'm shocked professor X hasn't found that Krakoa yet, Aaron freaked out a psychic, and seemed to be desired by Ethan, who was fucking awesome. Jack's Dad is a zombie, though maybe he is a ghost.
-The desire for the boy. At first, Claire's baby seemed to be a target, but the Others want Walt. Did they want Aaron, or was it to distract the survivors so they could snatch up Walt. What Charlie and Claire suffered with Ethan may have been forgotted, but it's important. What is Walt, and what is Ethan. Michael and Locke seem to be the figures to shape Walt's life now, one light, one dark. Alot of people saw it describing the nature of Locke and Jack (the doctor), but I see it as Locke and Michael. Both have things to offer Walt, and one is light skinned, while one is dark skinned.
Now with all those and many more freaky things going on, we're introduced to Desmond. A chance (or maybe not) encounter with a young Jack reveals that Desmond is intelligent, and is training for something. Next we see of him, he's on a creepy island, perhaps protected by a security system made of deadly man-eating smoke, and is alone. After downloading a high quality version of the episode, and looking at other's observations, I've recored the following fucked up shit:
-A lack of a handle on the hatch, and the lack of a ladder. Desmond was meant to stay there a long time. The elaborate light system is also creepy, especially since Locke saw it prehatch opening, and Kate vanished once seeing it after the hatch was opened.
-The magnetic thing in the hatch, causing the gun key around Jack's neck to float. Is it a nuclear reactor, or something else? It's affecting the compasses on the island, and perhaps the atmosphere as well. Magnets are powerful in altering reality, and there seems to be a doozy in the hatch. Whatever it is makes alot of powet, gives Desmond a 'sun' underground, and still remains strong after 20 (?) years of service.
-The technology in the hatch is old. While a washer and trashcan are from recent years and can be bought around the country, the rest is some old stuff. No Windows on his computer, faded plastic, giant servers... Desmond's been there a while. The 'biodome' also featured alot of old technology. Desmond even used a record player, maybe he never got cassettes... The numbers show up again, and Desmond enters them into the computer when the hatch is blown.
-QUARENTINE! This could mean Dessie is sick, except it's on the inside of the hatch. Desmond also is taking shots something, inscribed with the familiar number string. The injection style is quite old, and the bottles are faded.
-A mural painted of spraypaint reveals the number 108, which is the sum of the numbers when added together, and has massive religious signifigance around the world. Lookit up. The mural also features figures, slightly similar to a 'mural' seen on the rocks on the season finale when Sayid and Charlie are chasing down Rousseau. Some people say it's just seagull shit...
-Demond is also alot different than when he met Jack, or is he. Locke seemed unafraid, but Kate's absence is troubling. What was Desmond training for and why is he there? Locke's references to Pandora's box might hold water, especially after the fucked up shit that Americans and Europeans did (and still do) on small islands in the pacific.
Sidenote: Noted on the 'offical fansite' of Driveshaft is a curious article about one of the passangers of flight 815. He was the worlds top scientist dealing with nanotechnology. Quite odd, considering nanites could be the black mist.
Who is Desmond and what is the purpose of his Island setup? What is so special about Walt and Aaron? Why is Locke now Locke, and what is his purpose. What are the Others?
I dunno. I can't wait to find out though ^_^. I am shocked ABC could distribute this, but it's great. Not many things make me think this much, it's like reading a good book, or studying history. I love it.
My theory for Desmond and the hatch is this:
Desmond was selected to guard something on the island, a Pandora's box. The box isn't man made, and extremely powerful. He was dropped off there, and guards it inside the hatch. The object exerts it's influence above the surface as well, affecting others. The Others are a product of it, Jack's Dad, and the survival of the Middle section passengers as well. Locke can walk because of it, and Walt and Aaron's destiny revolve with it. When Pandora opened her box, Hope remained inside. The hatch is open, but hope is inside of it. Desmond is a key, but not the whole puzzle.
-
O_o You know they're never going to tell you.
-
He said he was training for a race around the world, maybe his one-person boat also crashed there, or a one man plane.
-
I think it was a lie, myself. I don't think Jack coulda handled being told about something secret on a desert island concerning the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42.
-
You posted them! NOOOOooooOOO!!!
-
WTF, I coulda sworn I was logged on for that shit.
-
...it begins.
-
...it begins.
Your face began to stop looking like a face and more like a butt. A face like a butt, comedy gold!
-
Lost sucks! :P
Go House! Go House!
-
God that guy is ugly, and that show is beyond retarded.
-
Lost sucks! :P
Go House! Go House!
The guy in your icon looks as if he's made from clay and then photoshopped into the foto.
-
Michelle Rodriguez better appear this week, that's all I'm saying.
-
Wow! Tom did all my thinking for me. Thanks Buddy! :)
-
You should be ashamed of yourself.
-
Or rather...
Desmond// Ye should be ashamed of yerself, brother! //Desmond
So that guy that died in Sara's carwreck, was that Shannon's dad?
-
Wow! Tom did all my thinking for me. Thanks Buddy! :)
He just did it cause he doesnt get ass, so he has extra time to look at the smallest details
-
Ever think that maybe Kary likes it too?
-
Gah, stop talking about Tom and sex! Stop it. It's wrong and scary.
-
It's an act against the foundation of the world!
-
And that was to Faye, not Tom. Girl, your tight Peruvian ass is only encouraging him! :(
-
Lost sucks! :P
Go House! Go House!
The guy in your icon looks as if he's made from clay and then photoshopped into the foto.
it's Rude from AC.
Every time Tom talks about his sex life, God clubs a baby seal to death.
Please, think of the baby seals.
-
And that was to Faye, not Tom. Girl, your tight Peruvian ass is only encouraging him! :(
She needs some damn sex I think. She's transfering some kinda funky ass rage.
On a side note... NEW LOST IN 8 1/2 HOURS!!!
-
me? nigga please i have a bf.
in the other hand, YOU have a FIANCE and its obvious that you don't get ass at all by just the way you act all the time
It's ok, sometimes it happens. Impotence?
-
Maybe he's castrated, haha!
Now really, I want some more Lost theories. Where their numbers on the grafitti in the vault? I swear one of them was 108.
-
me? nigga please i have a bf.
in the other hand, YOU have a FIANCE and its obvious that you don't get ass at all by just the way you act all the time
It's ok, sometimes it happens. Impotence?
o.o It's obvious? Huh... I didn't know impotence could be detected from a Lost thread. I mean, still, I could get some Viagra or some Cialis, so that way my cock will be hard like 24-7. Then I'll walk around with a constant tent in my pants, wagging it along. Then I'll pass a school inadvertantly, and get arrested and thrown in jail (HOLD THE D JOKES!) and then get raped all the time because I am so submissive.
Either way I'll still be getting some.
And you have a so-called boyfriend, yet all you can think about is me getting some, period. You don't want me to get some, so you lash out and state it. Why are you stating it? You wanna tell me something? Do you crave the Man-Faye body hair?
Speaking of which, Next Month, MAN-FAYE LIVE IN WEST PALM BEACH!
I hope to get a pic with him ^_^
-
nah, i just like to make fun of te lack of sex in your life
-
With all the curiosity about who's doing what in bed with whom, I see some future politicians here. ^_^
-
Sweeeeeeeeeeet.

I couldn't help but be bored by Mikey and Lil Sawyer on the damn rafts with Jaws looking for munch. It wasn't boring enough to fast forward, but I almost did a few times. The entire thing with Walt and Michael is nothing new and frankly they just aren't that interesting to me to where I'd want to dedicate so much of the episode to them.
I LOVED, however, seeing an entirely new point of view on what happened with the hatch. Stealing candy, hah, I have a whole new liking for Kate. I was hoping for at least an additional minute past what we saw last week so we could find out a little more about Desmond but alas....
-
And next week, Michelle Rodriguez!
-
Ya! Anyway, some additional information. One of my co-workers watched Acces Hollywood this morning, she came into ask to get off early, different story, anyway. She told me the revealed some stuff from last week's episode, the number 108 IS in the grafitti, along with the numbers that equal that sum. There's also a picture there of Rossaue(sp?). The kid, when he's talking to the brat girl in the woods, it's not tangible if you turn it up even, they played it backwards, he says, "Push the button, no don't push it." WTF? The numbers were also on Desmonds injection at the beggining when we first saw him in the vault as a mysterious figure. Suuuspiciioooouusss.
-
The shark that attacked Michael and Sawyer had the tatoo that is on all of Desmond's swag. SUSPICIOUS!
Also the guy who died in the car crash was Shannon's (Bitchy Blonde white chick) Dad, who may have built the hatch.
-
Where did you see a tat on the shark? I didn't see any tat.
-
I record it because me and Kary are in the lab. We had just rewound to see what it looked like as it circled the raft, and then we looked to see if it was a shark, and boom. Boogie Woogie Feng Shui.
-
SCANDALOUS!
-
Where did you see a tat on the shark? I didn't see any tat.
Tit (http://forums.shwiggie.com/index.php?showtopic=1847&view=findpost&p=37021) for tat (http://forums.shwiggie.com/index.php?showtopic=1847&view=findpost&p=37020), courtesy Sparkstalker.

I remember when people would get confused when I used a male advatar and they would call me on it. I would think what the hell is their problem. Well now I understand. Everytime I see Swiggie's advatar I keep thinking it's a girl making the post. Doesn't help that I have a hard time remembering that he is the drunken squirrel.
-
Jin speaks English, the fuck? I'm not surprised, I'm disappointed. Is the world so small that everyone knows English now?
And there's too many damn commercials in this show. The flashbacks used to feel more informative than filler, and now they just feel like filler.
-
It kinda came in as showing why Locke believes in faith.
And I think the Jinn scene was a dream of Sun's. If Jinn spoke English, he would have done so by now.
But yeah, we learned basically nothing new in this damn episode, except the island is a buncha hippie scientist's fuck ground. I think there is nothing bad that is gonna happen with the timer. I agree with Jack that it probably is an experiment.
Still, wtf is the damn smoke monster!?
Sidenote- Ann-Lucia is a bitch.

Hattori Hanzo!?
And I love how the lost producers kick out these websites... ^^
o.o http://www.thehansofoundation.org/jedi.html (http://www.thehansofoundation.org/jedi.html)
JEDI!? WTF!?
-
Yeah, I was there I was posting my previous message. Any thoughts on...
--the involvement of "the Third Policeman" in this? Or did they change their minds and use "Turn of the Screw" instead?
--Was Desmond with Jack's chick in that photo?
--What will happen to Desmond? You're on an island, brother. There's no where to go. Will the Others find him first and perhaps keel him?
--There's a rumor that a female will die in an October episode. My bet's on Shannon. With the introduction of yet more new characters, she's as useless as ever.
And just because there's so much hype now about the button not doing anything, it better end up doing something.
-
I want it to destroy the entire island if it isn't pushed.
-
Actually, come to think of it, the entire thing with the button and the computer might be some sort of experiment. The thing in there that's all magnetic, maybe it's connected to the computer and keeps compasses messed up and maybe planes/boat radars from detecting the island.
-
Or it's a giant experiment. Though the wierd shit going on kinda proves Jack wrong. Polar Bears? Ethan? Wet Walt?
No way it's an experiment to see how long they can keep an idiot guessing.
-
Someone tell me again why I checked out The Third Policeman, also did anyone catch the author of Turn of the Screw?
[addition] Nevermind I got it. I hear the move "The Others" is based on this book.[/addition]
-
All I can say is...
You want your damn thirty dollars back? I want my kidney back!
-
I want the food in the Storage container.
-
You want your damn thirty dollars back? I want my kidney back!
Ha ha, classic.
Merla, have you seen the Others? "Turn of the Screw" and the Others aren't the same. Now this would've been a perfect place for the spoiler tag if I knew how to put it back on, but I'll just make do without and use HTML.....
But the Others isn't the same as Turn. In the Others, and I'm really banking on most of us having seen this movie or elected to never see it anyway, we know they're dead and the mother killed the children and herself, thus haunting the current residents of the house who are from another era. In Turn, we have only the governess' account of the events to go by, and....
[doHTML]
<table bgcolor="#000000"><tr><td bgcolor="#000000"><font size=1 color="#FFFFFF">Spoiler: (highlight to read)</font></td></tr><tr><td><font size=3 color="#000000">We don't know if the governess is sane or not. Only the boy dies, supposedly from seeing a ghost, but for all we know it was other reasons. The ghosts that haunt the governess are not mysteries from another era as they are in the Others, but former residents of the household who have recently passed, including the prior governess.</font></td></tr></table>
[/doHTML]
Anyway, there's a whole Turn section on Sparknotes for the interested..
And you checked out Policeman because a story ran that said that book was going to be used in this episode of Lost, which supposedly prompted huge sales for it. I even rewound to try and look on Desmond's shelf just to see if it was hanging out but I didn't see it. It's supposedly a trippy book and I'd rather not spoil Policeman here but....

<table bgcolor="#000000"><tr><td bgcolor="#000000"><font size=1 color="#FFFFFF">Spoiler: (highlight to read)</font></td></tr><tr><td><font size=3 color="#000000">The narrator is dead... or somethin'. So people are suggesting it aludes to the already debunked theory that the Lost-ees exist in some sort of purgatory.</font></td></tr></table>
[/doHTML]
Also...

<table bgcolor="#000000"><tr><td bgcolor="#000000"><font size=1 color="#FFFFFF">Spoiler: (highlight to read)</font></td></tr><tr><td><font size=3 color="#000000">Desmond's accent is totally hot.</font></td></tr></table>
[/doHTML]
-
Kary adores his accent.
-
The show is driving me fucking insane.
-
Of COURSE it is. IT'S DESIGNED TO DO THAT. It gives you JUST ENOUGH INFORMATION to tempt you, and then CUTS the episode right there.
-
Hence the title, Lost. You feel lost, but not.
Very brilliant.
-
Okay, someone pointed it out to me. The Third Policeman is noticable when Desmond grabs his things to leave. So I looked back at the episode and it's there. Rather obviously, too. Whoops.
I'm still confused about the chick in the picture with Desmond. I don't remember what Sarah looks like either, but people at the Lost google group don't think it's her.
-
Who thinks those natives will be cannibals and try to eat the survivors they captured? :D
-
Nah. Jack and Locke lead with reason and faith. The black guy is a former drug dealer, and is leading his group of crash survivors with force and violence.
Also the black chick's husband is a white dude. Once you white... you say 'aight!
-
This is boring. Let's talk about Sex and the City
-
Um... yeah, why would we wanna talk about ugly (Except the bruenette) old hags who have STDs and constantly get drunk? I don't ever wanna talk about your future.
Mario Cantone though, is fuckin hilarious.
-
While it didn't occur to me that her husband might be white, I certainly didn't think he was, uh, "Shaft". lol I like how some people just saw the black guy and thought, "Rose's husband"! Think he'll catch Charlie with that Mary....?
-
I will laugh my ass off if it's not heroin, but baby laxitive cut in to make it look like more heroin than there was to boast their profits.
"Charlie, why are you shitting so much?"
"BECAUSE YOU CAN NEVER TRUST A GODDAMN NIGERIAN!!!"
-
Um... yeah, why would we wanna talk about ugly (Except the bruenette) old hags who have STDs and constantly get drunk? I don't ever wanna talk about your future.
Mario Cantone though, is fuckin hilarious.
That's funny cause I kinda see you in your future as an ugly old hag with lots of stds and drunk.
I mean, you admitted you were gay already. You should take the next step and cut your balls off, if your gf haven't done it yet
-
Why the fuck would I do that you vodka soaked raisin?
-
because you don't have a male mentality and obviously have feminine tendencies
-
So because of that reasoning, you should carve like 15 vaginas into you, so you can take an entire basketball team at one time.
-
http://www.thehansofoundation.org (http://www.thehansofoundation.org) add an "s" so it looks like this:
https://www.thehansofoundation.org (https://www.thehansofoundation.org)

WTF is that?!
-
Attention all rodents, attention all rodents.... revolution... face that launched a nation... attention all rodents, attention all rodents
-
Man, this episode was weak. The best parts were the Mike/Jin/Sawyer bits and the women dealing with the found bottle. Hurley's past, already covered. Hurley's love of food, already covered. Charlie wantin' sum bloody peanutbutter, mate, and his bleedin' reaction... how predictable. Any conversations with Rose, pointless. Jack and Sayid playing tunnel rats, useless. Kate fresh out of the shower, congrats, out there some boy is whacking off. Two thirds of that was pointless. Hurley "betrayed" knurph? Who gives a fuck? What kind of whiny sissy wouldn't understand not being told something like that? It's 156 million dollars, it's not like someone died. God, it felt like a bunch of anime filler. I'm all the happier I didn't see this in real time.
-
Again, I liked this one. I thought the scene at the end with Rose's husband and Rose was very deep.
Rose is the Oprah of the Island.
I wish they woulda added a scene with Hurley getting into a fight with DJQualls, I agree that the OMG faces were a bad ending to it. Also, he shoulda said 'let's just have a fiesta'.
I loved Locke being Locke again instead of wounded puppy sitting around doing nothing. It's nice to see him walking about and being the one that everyone likes.
WHY WASN'T THE DAMN MONSTER IN THE HATCH!? I was expecting it underground with Sayid and Jack. The note about the concrete and the EM Field is fuckin creepy. Whatever is there, is there two? Ana Lucia and her bitches found something else...
-
What happened to all of Ana's peeps anyway? Where there 23 when they left and fewer when they returned, or did the reduction in numbers occurred earlier and that chick was just being a vacant bitch when she said there were 23.
The scene at the beginning really got on my nerves. Look it's a ginormo fat guy! And he's in a room filled with food! OMG! Well THIS has certainly never been done before I'MA GONNA EAT IT ALLLL!L!! RAWRRR!! I'm surprised they didn't find room in that scene for a tuba solo. Hell, I'm surprised they didn't have him try to take a bite out of the chicken man.
-
Lost is annoying me. They have a zillion questions to START WITH, and when they answer ONE, just ONE, question, a million more pop out from the answer to that one question.
HOW ABOUT ANSWERING MORE THAN ONE QUESTION EVERY COUPLE EPISODES, LOST WRITERS?
-

I think it's obvious the 23 were killed. They didn't have Jack, Sayid and Locke to save their asses. While Ana Lucia and the Nigerian may be badass against people, they probably know next to nothing about anything else. Plus they are on the side with the 'others'. Why else would they be so mean to the trio?
23 is also one of the numbers, and it looked to be about 8 left. >.>; Hmmm

Yeah man, I'm startin' to get Lost blueballs... if that's possible.

Is that guy who played a hobbit in LOTR still there?
-
With peanut butter!

Anyone checked to see if Chris Claremont is one of the writers? :P

Anyone checked to see if Chris Claremont is one of the writers? :P
Since the Phoenix isn't around, and the popular characters haven't died to make way for ressurected characters he made in the 70s aren't around, probably not.
FUCK A CLAREMONT!
-
Is that guy who played a hobbit in LOTR still there?
Yes, Merry lives.

Nah, it will be like one of those long, 200 episode, filler-packed, confusing as fuck anime shows where only some of the questions are answered at the end and a whole sack of new ones are released...
Kinda like Eva but at the length of DBZ.
-
Actually plans are that it will be 120 episodes. 5 seasons.
-
Something tells me if this season doesn't pick up, I won't be sticking around for the rest of that.
-
Unless they make Desmond a regular. Hah! More guys with cute accents!
-
I'm sorry, no accent is worth this much frustration.
-
I'm sorry, no accent is worth this much frustration.
You wanted him? Dayum.
-
If he had boobs maybe, but his total lack of explanation just doesn't flip my skirt enough.
-
Tis the point that he is mysterious, but I doubt there is much more.
He's an athelete, was doing some wierd race thing, got shipwrecked, conned into working the hatch, slept an hour at a time, and then when they show up, he left. I guarenfuckingtee he's sleeping somewhere.
-
sleeping = furiously masturbating
-
I'm sure he did that alot. When I have insomnia, I jack off constantly.
-
That means he should have some girly magazines stashed in the bunker. The Lostaways are saved.
Anyway, the last episode bit. Again we learn virtually nothing new about these people except that Sun dated some jerkwad and we should keep an eye out for orange. Ha ha, "You gay?" That was funny.
-
Oh and the others don't wear shoes. I'm sure that was vitally important.
