Title: Anyone see the second Inuyasha movie last night?
Post by: B E C K on Aug 28, 2005, 10:50:55 PM
What a piece of shit.  It dragged and dragged, with Shippo, a.k.a. the stupid talking paperweight, in one way or another ruining more than one dramatic moment as he always does.  I left twice and returned to see what had happened and I didn't miss a damn thing.  And showing the movie at 11 made me miss a series episode I actually would've liked to have seen.  Anime movies more or less piss me off now.  Most of them are nothing more than a giant stretched out episode.

Unrelated, on Friday on IFC I saw Reservoir Dogs for the first time.  I think the second Inuyasha movie needed to end that way.

Inuyasha drag?  The hell you say!

On an unrelated note, I saw 12 Monkeys for the first time the other night.  Inuyasha probably would have been better if it had ended like that

I don't watch Adult Swim anymore.

I only really watch Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (which seems to have been taken off or moved.), Full Metal Alchemist, Cowboy Bebop and The Venture Brothers. I usually pass on the rest, especially Inuyasha, which I cannot stand.

GitS will come back with its second season in September or November.

I don't remember which.

You mean "Inuyasha Almost Kinda/Sorta Gets Some"?   THAT was the Kiss that launched a thousand fanfics?

I've always found Inuyasha boring on my Dark Shadows scale of boredom (zero being exciting, ten being Dark Shadows) I give it a 7.

That's good to hear. I've put off buying the DVDs in hopes of a boxset. It's one of the few anime shows I can watch. Either they are so dumbed down that you don't have to think, or they don't make any sense and don't pretend too. GITS is one of the few that pulls me in and keeps me in. So I'm really happy to hear about the 2nd season.

Inu yasha would have been better had it not dragged on so long.

Best way to ruin a series is by making it 200+ episodes. Just look at DBZ and Naurto.

Just because the series does didn't mean the movie had to also.

And how can GITS be the one of the only things you really watch if you didn't even notice it missing?

I want those assholes to bring back Detective Conan.  That was entertaiment.  The Escaflowne movie's supposedly airing next week.  Blech.

Well, Case Closed reruns at 5:30 AM.

Reruns are as much as you're gonna get, though. AS cancelled it.

Cause I finished it. Watched every episode in order and therefore didn't go out of my way to catch it again. So I guess it would be better to say it was one of the few things I USE to watch. It's the same with Cowboy BeBop. If I watch it now it's only cause it's on when I'm channel surfing.

Whoa, freaky, I watched the Escaflowne movie on DVD last week. I didn't like it. But it's not like Inuyasha really... so don't take my word for it...

The movie doesn't do Escaflowne justice.  You need to watch the series.  Now that is a masterpiece.  By the series I mean the original and not that edited crap that fox kids put out.

I'm cutting out the middleman and buying Samurai Champloo as the discs are released.  I was annoyed at the way AS cut out the old guy's predictions at the end of Paranoia Agent.  Like they really have to hurry up and get to the 3rd repeat of tired old FLCL. <_<

That Inuyasha movie had some sweet animation compared to the regular series. I only caught about a minute of it, but the difference in quality was readily apparent.

GitS is pretty much peerless. The only show in the current crop of anime that can even begin to approach it is Basilisk, and even that's still a long way off the mark. Eureka Seven is up there, but since it's just another Bandai merchandising vehicle it kind of disqualifies itself.

Heh, I never liked FLCL to begin with...  Talk about annoying voice acting.

That was the only reason I sat through so much of that Inuyasha movie.  I thought the animation looked neat.  Too bad nothing else was.

I know.  :(  Reruns that come out when I'm sleeping aren't good enough.

FLCL I initially liked.... but seeing it run into the ground with fanboys tearing it apart and crossexamining it piece by piece... not a pretty sight.  And one can only take so much "TA~~KUUUUUN!"  FLCL and Cowboy Bebop really need to be retired now.

As for cutting stuff out, they should really save time and cut out those damn bumps instead of bits of the show.

I liked the escaflowne movie better than that movie.

Only even remotely good reason to watch it was for the lip action. And that's as far as they'll get. They need to stop lying to each other and get busy making little quarter-demons.

You add an hour for each time zone west you go. So if it's on at midnight on the east then it's one a 1am centeral, 2am mountain, and 3am Pacfic. to see it at 10pm you'd have to be in the Alantic Ocean I believe or someplace in eastern South America.

So it would be 1am for her.

I'm pretty sure it's subtract, explaining why people in the west coast and hawaii come to chats late when it's actually still early over there.  We have news at 10 and not 11.  AS starts at 10.  1 am is when AS goes into repeats.

If that's the case Rama, why do I always hear ads for shows say something like "10pm, 9pm Central." Texas is central not mountain right? Which means if it was 12am eastern, it would be an hour behind in San Antonio.

You're right it is subtract...I got it all ass backwards. So it'd be 11 instead of 1, my bad.
